I think it would be a fun feature if items had a very rare chance of dropping special items.

Maybe the same chance rate as a random first gen hybrid (whatever that rate is) , Buffalo carcasses could drop buffalo balls, zebra carcasses could drop zebra hearts etc. Not a huge change to anything, but if you got it that would be super exciting!

Full support, I'm surprised this wasn't already a thing. 1st gen hybrids seem damn near impossible anyways, its not like this idea would flood the market.

It's super easy to get buffalo and zebra carcasses, just hunt your gals or buy from the TC/Branches. You could easily gather up hundreds of them to chow through in hopes of that drop. And if you ran out of hungry lions, just get NCLS or cheapies from the TC. Basically, I think the super low chance seems like it would be a good balance, but could easily be weighted more favorable to the user.

Not to mention I don't super like the idea of event items being able to be obtained outside of said event. And Zebra Hearts spend GB to assist in getting GB out of the system to keep things balanced SB/GB wise.

Food is pretty easy to obtain and even easier to eat. People would hoard and devour food. Sure, chances are low but if people are going to eat carcasses in the masses like that they’re bound to get the items sooner than later and with just how many users are going to be devouring, there’s gonna be a shit ton of them. Not only will food prices rise but the items prices will drop.

To sum it up, low chances don’t matter if you do it often enough and the market will not like the influx of items.

@GamingGal

I get where you are coming from, but I breed hundreds of lions and have never gotten 1 hybrid, so I don’t think it will be enough to throw balance off anything 😅. Plus there is a hard cap of how many items you can use a day anyway, since you can’t feed lions that are full and you can’t make them hungrier without RO.

Like GamingGal said, if you were determined, once the lions you had were full, you could just buy more NCLs and other cheap lions from the TC and go again. Rich get richer.

I wouldn't be as opposed to zebra hearts, but I don't think scrotums are a good drop from food. There is a rare August encounter where you can get an even rarer chance of a lion scrotum, but it's so rare that not very many people know it exists, let alone can drop a lion scrotum. If it could be balanced like that, sure—but food consumption can't.

Since territory is theoretically limitless, someone with a lot of territory space, time, and dedication could just have a rotation of NCLs (since they start at 50% hunger upon claiming) either bought or found in explore, then feed them buffalo and zebra carcasses until they're full, then chase those and get new ones to do the same thing. I don't think it'd be a HUGE change to the market, and I do like the idea of getting valuable breeding items outside of having to buy them. But it would heavily favor some players over others, which is something that should be considered.

TBH for the amount of work and money spent you would probably be better off just buying a Buffy then the scenario you laid out! If people wanted to put all of their time, funds and energy into trying to farm something with a let’s say .00001 chance of happening (don’t know random hybrid chance but it’s crazy small) that seems like their prerogative to me 😅. + having to buy all the slots for the theoretically infinite number of lions they would need would be crazy expensive.

I also think the whole game is favorable to some players over others any way you cut it, people with time and money to spend will always do better by design.

I just think it would be fun, I’ve personally got shit luck so even if it was implemented I fully expect I would not get anything even if I tried for years.

i don’t think this would be a very balanced addition for many of the reasons listed above. there are thousands of people who log in every day, and likely thousands of buffalo and zebra carcasses being eaten per day. trying to figure out how to balance something like this would be INCREDIBLY HARD for the developers.

plus, i feel it takes away from the fun of hunting for event items in their respective events. helps keep things on a nice and neat schedule.

i also feel like it would lead to a lot of jealousy between players. if somebody gets crazy lucky and gets two *free* buffalo scrotums in a week, other players will likely start to feel really resentful.
