Personally, I think the main reason they don't moderate comment boxes isn't just because we can delete them- but because it's a LOT to moderate thousands of comment boxes. I think rather than expecting it to be moderated exactly like mainchat, which is impossible, the simple solution is for a 'flag this comment?' button.
That way, mods aren't going to be going out of their way to moderate. But, we can still flag things if they break the code of conduct, spam, or make us uncomfortable/can be considered harassment.
Personally, my comment box is quite active since I'm in Mainchat fairly often. This leads to some more unsettling comments I've recieved- I didn't Modbox them because I'm aware how much they neglect it, but the point is it's still there. I've had people insult me in my comment box. I've had people drop uncomfortable things in my comment box- one of which I got today.

Some people might find this funny. I just find it weird. NOT one of my worst cases by far. Just uncomfy.


This one is third party from a friend who gave permission for it to be used. Again, not the worst I've seen/experienced, but it furthers my point that some of the stuff left can be incredibly uncomfortable, and who wants to leave particularly disturbing comments on their profile when nothing will be done about it?


Considering this site still allows legal children, 16 year olds, comment box moderating is vital. Not just for the adults involved, but because there's STILL young people on site. I'm over 18. I don't want to receive disturbing, creepy or upsetting messages which might be overlooked because I can delete them. Even if I delete them, I still read it. I still listened to what that person had said about me or my lions and for no reason they'll get 0 punishment in a lot of cases because of how blurry the lines are. Why have a COC if you don't follow it. Not even a simple 'Hey, don't do this please!' from Lioden staff themself. How is that fair?

Self moderation in form of deleting comments is good, but it is NOT moderation. It's just clean up crew. It's not going to discourage the person from doing it again if their comment is deleted. Messaging the person or blocking them isn't going to solve their behaviour and most of the time will not solve the issue. As members, we have very little power to correct other member's behaviour. If you're going to have somewhere where people can in some cases say just anything on a site where potential 16 year olds might hear it, don't have it at all.
