Most people know of the SB cap for gaining currency from Explore, but for those who aren't aware - you cannot gain SB from exploring or battling if you have over 5000 SB on your account. That includes bundles and active trades with SB offered, but does NOT include offers on other players' trades or currency located on a linked account. (Please let me know if I forgot anything on either list or am incorrect about something!) 5000 SB is... not a lot. Ever since I linked my accounts, I transfer all of my SB between accounts each time I explore. On average I'd say I gain 200-300 SB per account per day purely from explore encounters and battles. It is very little on its own (lol don't get me started on that), but if I sell a few items I can easily get 5000 SB within a few days. For me, the SB cap is not a huge problem. More of an annoyance, really. But, I can imagine how much tougher saving SB for a project would be for players who keep one account frozen or are limited to only one account due to household size or personal choice. They're essentially forced to buy GB at whatever the selling rate is just to maintain an SB amount lower than 5000, just so they can get SOMETHING from exploring. Especially rough during high GB prices or extreme market fluctuation (GB priced between 1000-1300 SB on the same day, for example). I understand the purpose of having a cap in the first place, but I can't help but feel that it's a bit pointless if there are workarounds to avoid it, such as linked account transfers, which is unfairly crippling to players with one account by comparison. Personally, I think 50000 SB is a perfectly reasonable cap to have. Maybe even 100000. Most players probably won't accumulate that much before spending it, so it would really only affect the uber-rich as well as currency hoarders at that point. That said, if most people feel that 50000 would be too high, 20000 seems ok to me as well. ---------------- My other suggestions: Masterpost here |

Full support! I freeze my other account and have 15ksb banked and 4k active at all times. The sb encounters become a HUGE energy waster for me. 4 players like this post! Like? |

i didnt even know this was a thing... I dont think there should be any cap based on how many you have. If anything the cap should be per day. Like after a certain amount of sb gained from explore per day, you cant gain anymore, but not just on your account.... 2 players like this post! Like? |

i think the explore text about the beetles scurrying away is fun, but otherwise it's just a pain in the ass and most people breeze past non-important encounters like that anyway. 5k seems real low, if I'm not buying stupid shit and actively playing i can get that in two days, max. 4 players like this post! FULL SUPPORT. i had *no* idea about the SB cap until way later. the only mention i could find if it was an easy to miss sentence on the wiki. it confused me as a newbie but i forgot it was even possible to earn SB in explore until one day i transferred all currency out of my side account and into my main. 5k is a crazy low cap considering how much things cost. thatβs only 10 opal saltlicks! IMO, the cap should be raised to something significantly higher or removed altogether. in fact, the economy may benefit from players having some more disposable income! 7 players like this post! and this is how i find out there was an SB cap on explore encounters. fully support this, 5k SB is really not a lot considering some items from monkey business are 1k, 1.8k and 2k SB on their own so it really doesn't make much sense to cap it as low as 5k.. i think 25k or 50k would make a lot more sense 6 players like this post! I'd say boost it to 10k at the most. I think it's more about keeping the price of GB relatively stable. So many aspects of the market are absolutely hurting right now, and GB value is one of the ones that's holding. And this is a very hesitant 'half-support'. This function annoys me too and I'm currently over 5k and not gaining... But I'm really hesitant to touch more of the market's core parts right now, unless a highly valued SB sink was added to the game along side this. 5 players like this post! Like? |

Yharnam - I feel that there are some pretty decent SB sinks in place already, but I wouldn't be opposed to more being added. I don't think removing the explore cap would drastically change much of anything in all honesty, because as a pretty active explorer most months I only really get a few hundred SB per account. When my VLFs come into heat I pretty much spend all of it on chasteberries lol. That said, I won't claim to know much about economics - in game or not. So it would be up to the dev team to ultimately figure out what's best! 2 players like this post! Like? |

Honestly, implementing this along side more SB and GB sinks in general would be great... If the cap was bumped to 20k, and something like the following implemented in MB: Random Pose Applier: Easy way to get poses on all your lions, but you can't pick which. Excludes Jolly - or maybe has a rare chance of applying Jolly. Random Decor Bundles: Contains 1 Background and 2-3 Decors from MB. Rare chance of containing an Event decor. I just think we need more re-usable SB sinks. Like, I'm fully aware this is my paranoia speaking, I'm just also sitting here bracing to see what happens on Black Friday... Support, there really shouldn't be a cap considered SB is the free option for gathering currency. More sb/gb sinks would be nice too. 8 players like this post! Like? |
