That is correct! You only need one beetle of either sex to get the entry, but you can technically collect every entry twice (with male and female slots). The entry itself will not change, but it helps to get the "collect 500 beetles" achievement, when we only have 411 beetle types/colours in the game!

Hi! It's unclear what you mean specifically but here is what I understand:

If you add a new beetle to your beetle collection it counts as the beetle species and colors so you don't have to collect both female and males. You can collect any gender and still get the collection, after that you don't have to raise another beetle of the same color and species because it already counts in your collection. So to put it simply: You only need to collect the beetle (and its color) once, gender doesn't matter if you're adding to collection

Exactly that :) thank you! Its prob me who have seen things wrong as in thinking that "but I already sent that beetle to the collection" and then when one just like it was raised up, but of the opposite gender...it could still be sent there...

Thank you AL, then I know :) now I just have to remember what I have already submitted (male or female) for it to count towards the achievement thing.
It would help to have like a "notification" of sorts, similar to the one that show in for ex eventshops on how many of a certain item you already have. I have made a suggestion of it, hopefully others would think that would be helpful too.
