Valeri ran down the street turning around to fire at one of the hulking beast every time she could reload, their blood just barely reached her ankles after the shot from the old gun.

Valeri managed to round a corner, then sprinting for her life for an alley. Valeri watched the zombies come into view, she held her breath. She sighed with relief when they walked past, the parasite often took senses away long with humanity, intelligence and body coordination, which was good for them.

Andrew was letting an old grocery store, grabbing what he could and eating what he couldn't. There were weapons in the back, but he figured he wouldn't need them. As he walked out of the store, he heard gunshots in the distance. Curious, he walked towards the sound.

Once she was certain they had left, Valeri peeked out of the corner of the alley. Was it safe? She scouted the area for a better place to hide. Then she saw a figure rounding the street corner. She aimed her gun, prepared to shoot if any need showed.
