Q. Is it better if a lion has as few generations as possible?

A. I think overall since a lot of generations have siblings I like to compare the siblings and which one to stud from or keep them

-- if the marking has a passable chance like 60% or higher 100% guaranteed
(if one parent (mother) has fewer markings than the king wanted markings are likely to pass-passable
--If the generations are constant of the offspring with the same percentage or higher
Note: check at the rate of the wanted marking and keep track of markings and if it's going down then I wouldn't buy from that

Q. Do levels and stats matter or is it all about the markings?

A. so depending on how you want to play most of the time

for your future king, you wanna focus on the markings more but have a minimum of 350 status or something
have your male patrolling a lot in the adolent stage so it gets the cub bonus
( look at my future king for instants https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794204289564) I keep track of his progress
higher status will likely get you more status cubs and selling might be more popular and exploring gameplay

more rare or color bomb markings also help with studding or looking cool (up to the player)

you can do both
you can stud high-status lionesses or kings and wile you have a color bomb or marking you want lioness
