hello!
i recently came back to lioden after a long break and found the extinct raffle lioness projects which seem to be really popular right now super cool. i was especially inspired by these threads: here, here, and here-- and because i'm unoriginal i decided to try it out for myself! my process as well as the layout of this thread are inspired by the ones i linked.
to pick a lioness, i consulted this list of extinct raffle lionesses. the original lioness (click image to see her) never cloned. i picked this one because i love vit 4 and she didn't look too hard to (re)make!
i started the project on around 10.8.23, but didn't make this thread until now just in case i gave up early. since i've gotten through a few kings at this point, it feels safe to add my project to the pile. almost all of the project lions can be found here.
currently struggling to get any of the remaining 3 markings to pass! i've bred multiple cubs with six markings but missing mane shape/color/both.
spent lots on aging, zebra hearts, and ibfs but finally gave it a rest after they kept failing me.
just waiting on breeding cooldowns now!
my goal was to be done by the end of the year, but looks like that was a little too ambitous

was born from a lioness with a single project trait and a bunch of other random marks. guess i was wasting my money on aging up all of those lions with multiple project marks, lol.

i didn't have much time to get on lioden until recently, but i'm now working on the project again! i finally caved and bought ochre powder, and was able to get a full marking + mane cub on my first try. it feels great to be reaching the final steps of the process 8) (and to finally not have a hideous king).
the 10/11 has cub has been kinged and repped with a groupie, and i'm now going through the process of mass breeding NCLs. i'm also buying up lots of touch of demiurge applicators for all of the near clones so i'll have better odds of getting all the marks onto a flint based lioness. i'm feeling a little impatient as usual, but i'll have to wait a few weeks for all of my near clones to age up before i can start breeding for the final 11/11
8.11.2024 - success!
had a clone born today from a natural 4 cub litter! the mother had 6/8 of the BO marks as well as the mane color and shape. i went ahead and changed all of the opacities, and i'm going to be aging her up and using a crunchy on her!
