All great advice yes! And feel free to post how you do this Feb too! Roasted lambs definitely make up the funds over an energy boost if you will be able to use it through the 8 hours! I don't focus on as many PERSONALLY because sleeping hits me heaviest during the day so my energy is better spent when I have a boost as I can reliably burn through a boost before I need to take a nap to recharge. Incredibly nocturnal here. And also I can only use one account, so 60 until T3 is well more than enough, so that's why I've primarily focused energy boosts myself. 3 players like this post! Like? |

Hi!! I am a long time player of lioden. I've dug my brain into a trench for heart shells every year since I joined, and played Feb to the fullest extent a normal income player can do it many times. Timers, roasted lambs, and consistently working at it each day. I feel I know the ins and outs of the event. This year, however, I was fortunate to breed a first gen leopon. I chose to sell it, and now have allocated 1400GB of those funds towards heart shells specifically. I have NEVER EVER had this much GB in my account at one time before and I'm nervous on how best to use it. Time and burnout are not issues for me, I just want to use this gb to get the maximum amount of HS possible. My question is this: why do some players prefer to buy heart shells from other players, verses using gb to buy energy boosts? Is one more profitable then the other? My immediate thought with my 1400gb is that I should put all of it into energy boosts and just spend them all throughout February of course on top of timers and choosing the correct explore choices... But why do so many people use hundreds (or thousands) of gb buying heart shells from others? Am I missing something? Is that the more profitable option? 1 player likes this post! Like? |

So I've heard (I can't recall my personal results & I've been asking around!) the average HS per energy bar is 10-30 HS per go, depending entirely on RNG! I think 15-20 is usually a more 'accurate' average. As such, since 10 HS USED to be 1 GB, it'd have been cheaper to rely on buying for sure! I honestly personally think, if this count is ACCURATE, it'll be safer to use energy instead of buying them from other players. My reasoning; I've already seen people offering up 5 GB = 30 HS if not more, so that's about 2 energy boosts, which could potentially be a bark and a half if not two or even two and some! I saw in September real time how, when GMOs USED to be 10 GB a pop, maaaybe 15 GB a pop, go for at minimum 20 GB a pop, averaging closer to 25 GB a pop. Same with Gnaws. Granted, that currency is HARDER to grab. But it was a much lesser decline than years prior vs 'technical actual value.' I'm wondering if we'll see that in Feb as well. If we're able to explore for 30 HS within one energy boost's worth, or even close to it, it's still as good as or nearly as good as buying 1 bark for 30 HS. But RNG can be rude. As we all know. So I think it's partially a 'guarantee' of securing what they need as well as having the extra funds. Plus there will be NO competition if you grind your own items vs having to snatch up really low purchases as they come up (there will be lots of hawk eyes on the TC!) or set up your own thread competitive to the 5 GB per 30 HS+! Which, those values are really nice for people needing a quick sale and I'm happy to see it. Though the resell value is incredible for that and it's a NICE profit for buyers even at 5-8 GB a pop for barks. (Even spending 50% of final profit on a chunk of barks? It adds up quite fast!) TLDR; This is why I think it's best to grind your own. Barring poor RNG through explore, there's usually LOTS of nice encounters that give out HS. I think if those averages are accurate, you're looking at 10 bars = at least 8 barks. That's 20 GB = at worst a 4 GB loss, but you might end up with 10+ barks if RNG is extra kind. And not spending energy battling all month can really help out! Plus with the new coffee bean item you're guaranteed 50 steps in explore per energy boost versus 34 guaranteed steps if RNG had you use 2% per vs 3% per each and every time. Again, it adds up! :3 Sorry if this is wordy. I'm still getting over the flu brain fog. Anyone is more than welcome to disagree if they've had other experiences! I'd love to hear! But this is my own two cents. 3 players like this post! Like? |

Thank you so much! I wish you ALL the luck with your grind. This is the first time I've actually been quite serious about it myself! My goal is (eventually) a Tigon of every BO base so I'm hoping to come out of it with plenty of yohs and buffies. Last year I spent every bark and buffy I got on one single Tigon (my only at the time) and... well, lessons were learned. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Awwww thank you! I appreciate that so much! I’m really hoping these tips help others in Feb, but mostly I just hope everyone has fun with it. It can be wildly profitable even if someone takes it easy with the grind and doesn’t have much time, so never worth a stress! 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I'm currently working on a list of how many encounters are in each zone - overall, per wet season, per dry season, per positive karma, negative karma, day time, night time, etc. This is to see if there's any zones in particular that have less 'overall' encounters to deal with so there will hopefully be more likelihood to run into HS encounters. I am also going to be using tomorrow to see if candid personality combined with hyena butter still manages to add up to +30 energy (or more) per day! Additionally, I plan to see how many energy boosts I can power through with one thing of coffee beans used up as soon as Feb hits! Just for fun. 5 players like this post! Like? |

With hyena butter active, I've already claimed enough NCLs to surpass the hyperactive boost thanks to Candid personality! :3 1 player likes this post! Like? |
