Ramune's February Madness Tracker

I couldn't help myself and did a silly little doodle.

A little preface on this thread - I wanted to make a little journal to detail my February experience. I will log how much time I spend exploring per day, what items are used, and if I figure out something that absolutely works great or terribly. I'm starting with my own 'quick-start' guide on what has worked best for me for grinding events to give a peek into my daily routine for grinding events. :3

Additionally, please feel free to add your own logs here! :D I'd love to see what others do on the daily. *You are always doing an event right as long as you have fun with it!*

Lofty Feb Goals
Oh boy. This is either a lowball or an extreme highball for expectations. Whichever one it is, we will find out!

My inventory for Feb:
- 550 energy boosts
- 19 Level-ups
- 40 roasted lambs (30 additional are being saved in case there is a Jaglion hype boost like there was for Tigons :3 May end up using more, however!)

My Hopeful Breeding Items Goal:
- 420 Yohimbe Barks (12,600 HS) - Minimum
- 100 Buffalo Scrots (6,000 HS)
- 1,400 HS for decors, BGs, apps, and lion scrots!
For a total of; 20,000 HS. I am hopeful I can surpass this, but it is all down to RNG with event encounters and how much time I am actually able to spend grinding! I'm planning on compacting my exploring as much as I can to a 6 or so hour period a day, so we shall see if I'm able to even half-way meet it! If not, I'll have energy left over for other events. :3
Goal has been met!

Daily To-Do's and Reminders

Let me preface this with; this is what works for ME. These are my little "notes to self" for daily 'do's' and 'don'ts.' You may have methods that work MUCH better for you, and that is fabulous! I am not presenting this as a 'this is the best way to do Feb' but as a 'this is how I'm approaching the event for tracking. If any of it helps you, I'm happy!'
I also prepared well ahead of time with a SILLY amount of energy boosts. I was able to make sales and invested it directly into energy boosts because I was ABLE to at the time. You can STILL have a wonderfully profitable Feb by just exploring once in a while casually. You can spend 0 GB and end up with 50 GB worth of buffalo scrots by just exploring an hour or so a few days of the month. It adds up!

•⋅⋅♡⋅⋅•

Encounter quick guide
- This info is also on the wiki! :3 It's just easier for me to sift through in this layout PERSONALLY.

•⋅⋅♡⋅⋅•

- BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, set alarm for every 15 mins to flirt (set backup alarm for every half hour or hour in case you get distracted - I am easily distracted, and this is a necessary step for me!)

- DAILY: Gorilla Enclave: Choose ENERGY

- DAILY: bone marrow

- DAILY: keep word doc up with best yield of HS (when in doubt, CHECK IT OUT) - NOTE: The wiki already has this information laid out beautifully. It is just simpler for me to have a word document up with only the best option visible. It cuts down on my time as there's "less to look at" per encounter.

- Roasted Lamb or Red Bull every 8 hours (use at the TOP of each hour within the first 5 minutes - set timer once used for 8 hours).

- CANDID Personality - Candid personality gives you +3 energy return for every successful NCL claim. Battling does not tend to yield enough HS to worry about (if you have enough territory, you not only might get and complete the 50 lioness quest for a potential +100% energy, but you also tend to get WELL over 30 energy per day - better than the hyperactive daily boost!) Update with hyena butter; definitely exceeded the hyperactive boost on a few days, today included (day 1 Feb). I recommend if you have the territory!
- HYPERACTIVE Personality - If you do not have enough territory to cycle through ~10 NCLs an hour (claim & chase after their cooldown is up), Hyperactive will be your best bet! This number is only if you are not running through a LOT of energy at once! It's probably closer to 30? if you're using several boosts in a row. It will give you a +30% daily boost!

- Remember to check slap/flirt page every handful of minutes - I've missed notifications before!

- Level ups before energy boosts!

- NEW: Coffee Beans! - Give yourself a kick of espresso when you KNOW you have 15 minutes and a full energy bar at MINIMUM for exploring. This will guarantee you at least 50 steps in explore vs a guaranteed 34 if the maximum amount of energy is used per step! Best used if you have 2+ energy boosts.
[Note; I am planning to see how many energy boosts I can go through while REASONABLY farming the best options of HS with the coffee beans. Obviously speed clicking isn't the way to go as you have to select options, so it will take some math to figure out how many energy boosts is feasible and reasonable to burn through with coffee beans active.]

- Hyena Butter on occasion - DO NOT PERCEIVE ME, LIONESSES (if lioness encounters seem very frequent and it is getting in the way of event encounters - I usually save this after I've gotten well over the +30 energy a day!)

- Fermented Marula Fruits - Use at 0% energy, make sure your +20 isn't about to go off!

- Do not forget to spend your HS. I set a calendar reminder for the 26th each February so I do not forget.

- Additional daily note: If you find yourself in need for emergency funds, don't forget to play Serengeti Shuffle and Reptile Roundup! The decors sell nicely from RR and if you score 3500+ on SS, you can win items worth 1-2 GB. HS is extremely cheap compared to the items' actual "values" as HS is rather easy to get. Playing for the long haul will earn you more GB!

All great advice yes! And feel free to post how you do this Feb too!

Roasted lambs definitely make up the funds over an energy boost if you will be able to use it through the 8 hours! I don't focus on as many PERSONALLY because sleeping hits me heaviest during the day so my energy is better spent when I have a boost as I can reliably burn through a boost before I need to take a nap to recharge. Incredibly nocturnal here. And also I can only use one account, so 60 until T3 is well more than enough, so that's why I've primarily focused energy boosts myself.

Hi!! I am a long time player of lioden. I've dug my brain into a trench for heart shells every year since I joined, and played Feb to the fullest extent a normal income player can do it many times. Timers, roasted lambs, and consistently working at it each day. I feel I know the ins and outs of the event.

This year, however, I was fortunate to breed a first gen leopon. I chose to sell it, and now have allocated 1400GB of those funds towards heart shells specifically. I have NEVER EVER had this much GB in my account at one time before and I'm nervous on how best to use it. Time and burnout are not issues for me, I just want to use this gb to get the maximum amount of HS possible.

My question is this: why do some players prefer to buy heart shells from other players, verses using gb to buy energy boosts?

Is one more profitable then the other?

My immediate thought with my 1400gb is that I should put all of it into energy boosts and just spend them all throughout February of course on top of timers and choosing the correct explore choices... But why do so many people use hundreds (or thousands) of gb buying heart shells from others? Am I missing something? Is that the more profitable option?

So I've heard (I can't recall my personal results & I've been asking around!) the average HS per energy bar is 10-30 HS per go, depending entirely on RNG! I think 15-20 is usually a more 'accurate' average. As such, since 10 HS USED to be 1 GB, it'd have been cheaper to rely on buying for sure! I honestly personally think, if this count is ACCURATE, it'll be safer to use energy instead of buying them from other players.

My reasoning; I've already seen people offering up 5 GB = 30 HS if not more, so that's about 2 energy boosts, which could potentially be a bark and a half if not two or even two and some! I saw in September real time how, when GMOs USED to be 10 GB a pop, maaaybe 15 GB a pop, go for at minimum 20 GB a pop, averaging closer to 25 GB a pop. Same with Gnaws. Granted, that currency is HARDER to grab. But it was a much lesser decline than years prior vs 'technical actual value.' I'm wondering if we'll see that in Feb as well. If we're able to explore for 30 HS within one energy boost's worth, or even close to it, it's still as good as or nearly as good as buying 1 bark for 30 HS. But RNG can be rude. As we all know. So I think it's partially a 'guarantee' of securing what they need as well as having the extra funds. Plus there will be NO competition if you grind your own items vs having to snatch up really low purchases as they come up (there will be lots of hawk eyes on the TC!) or set up your own thread competitive to the 5 GB per 30 HS+! Which, those values are really nice for people needing a quick sale and I'm happy to see it. Though the resell value is incredible for that and it's a NICE profit for buyers even at 5-8 GB a pop for barks. (Even spending 50% of final profit on a chunk of barks? It adds up quite fast!)

TLDR; This is why I think it's best to grind your own. Barring poor RNG through explore, there's usually LOTS of nice encounters that give out HS. I think if those averages are accurate, you're looking at 10 bars = at least 8 barks. That's 20 GB = at worst a 4 GB loss, but you might end up with 10+ barks if RNG is extra kind. And not spending energy battling all month can really help out! Plus with the new coffee bean item you're guaranteed 50 steps in explore per energy boost versus 34 guaranteed steps if RNG had you use 2% per vs 3% per each and every time. Again, it adds up! :3

Sorry if this is wordy. I'm still getting over the flu brain fog. Anyone is more than welcome to disagree if they've had other experiences! I'd love to hear! But this is my own two cents.

Thank you so much! I wish you ALL the luck with your grind. This is the first time I've actually been quite serious about it myself! My goal is (eventually) a Tigon of every BO base so I'm hoping to come out of it with plenty of yohs and buffies. Last year I spent every bark and buffy I got on one single Tigon (my only at the time) and... well, lessons were learned.

Awwww thank you! I appreciate that so much! I’m really hoping these tips help others in Feb, but mostly I just hope everyone has fun with it. It can be wildly profitable even if someone takes it easy with the grind and doesn’t have much time, so never worth a stress!

I'm currently working on a list of how many encounters are in each zone - overall, per wet season, per dry season, per positive karma, negative karma, day time, night time, etc. This is to see if there's any zones in particular that have less 'overall' encounters to deal with so there will hopefully be more likelihood to run into HS encounters.

I am also going to be using tomorrow to see if candid personality combined with hyena butter still manages to add up to +30 energy (or more) per day!

Additionally, I plan to see how many energy boosts I can power through with one thing of coffee beans used up as soon as Feb hits! Just for fun.

Clicky click!

I will update it if there's more encounters added this year, too. :3

With hyena butter active, I've already claimed enough NCLs to surpass the hyperactive boost thanks to Candid personality! :3
