my king has had 3 rosette cubs without even trying, and with lionesses who don't have any rosettes either. i was wondering if he might have any markings that somehow make rosettes more likely, because like 30% of all the cubs he's ever had have rosettes. this can't be a coincidence.

i think you have just had some good luck! the only way to boost rosette passing is using a gnawrock which guarantees passing a mark, or either parent having a rosette themselves which would have a low chance of passing :D

the only other way i could think of is breeding to a leopon with mottled rosette, they pass the mottled rosette marking very well!

There are projects around with people theory-crafting on the factors that cause random rosettes to occur such as time of day and the season they're bred in. I'd def check out those projects and offer your king's cubs as research material to them! (not physically, but they'll be able to look for traits or time of day stuff).

You can find a majority of those threads in the Lioden Theories forum under Watering Hole

nope, not leopons, just regular lionesses. none of them had any rosettes, and neither does my king. i do have a 4th rosette cub but that's from another king (who did have rosettes) so i'm not counting it
