Hey all, I have a bit of an issue going on with a breeding project. I'm trying to make a full primal pride with some NCL/bred beauties on the side with an ongoing theme. Tropical. Which means bases that are pinks (flowers/hibiscus) and blues. So of course I have Labradorite set as my King's base. His sister, a primal, also has Labradorite. I want to breed more Labradorite primals. But it would seem that Aslan is one of a kind and I am unable to find another Labradorite primal to breed his sister to.

Does anyone have advice on getting another primal with Labradorite base? I'm going to try and breed her to another king that has a mutation in hopes of getting a primal since she's in heat now, but I would like some advice on what to do in the future for the next heat. I don't want incest in the pride, Aslan has a long, but very clean heritage.

Primal females unfortunately have 0% chance of passing their mutation on their own, but they can pass their base! As a special base, Labradorite has a 2% chance of passing to cubs when bred to a lion with any uncommon, rare, or special base. However, when bred to another special base, the other special ALSO has its own 2% pass rate, so it's 50/50 as to whether you'd get Labradorite or the other one.

To keep with the theme of pinks and blues, you could try to find a pink based primal stud so that either base option would be good for your project.

Or, you could breed to a combo based primal stud! Because combo bases count as special rarity, they will have a 2% special pass rate of their own for the litter, BUT if you don't breed a factor of the combo itself it can't pass, which means Labradorite would get the additional boost, for a total of 4%.

Hope I explained it well enough, and good luck with her litter!

@Terrinthia [G1 Shreds] Thank you so much! I was not aware other specials/combos could help boost the chances of getting a Labradorite. I'll definitely look around for a primal king with any bases that would match. I wish I knew that sooner, I was getting worried if I could find a king to help getting more primal labs.

If you want the best chance to pass the labradorite but can't find a labradorite stud you can use a different based stud with the genetics.
Labradorite = Golden Medium Solid
https://www.lioden.wiki/base-genetics consult this wiki page to see which bases are an option.

however I must say that the chance of getting a primal AND a special base from breeding is an extremely low chance
(a chance of the base passing from a Special x Special breeding is 4% and the primal pass rate is also very low)

I like the idea of your breeding project, but if you're looking to expand the numbers relying on your king and girls to pass base and mut is not the way to go. I'd suggest stocking up either on the primal mod or the base apps so if you get a mut pass you can change base and vice versa :)))

Ah yeah, I kind of figured it would be difficult, but I like challenges anyways. I did actually stock up on primal apps and I used them on a good handful of NCL beauties and fodders that turned out very pretty in the end. I'm hoping to get a few more before this event ends as well!

I do have a labradorite primal king but unfortunately he is dirty. I also adore the primal and labradorite combo so I have just been hording the primal MODs and labradorite dusts. I have been very very very slowly trying to breed more primals and labs from him but it is not something I have invested a whole lot of time into.

@Silver

Ah yeah, that seems to be one of the issues of finding that combo huh? Not a lot of people with labradorite primal kings to begin with. And the ones that are existing aren't for studding or have other reasons for not studding. :/ It is really a nice combo though!

Idk if this advice helps, but try to get pretty NCLs or fodder lionesses and mass breed them to your king or a stud. That's how I got a primal cub pretty quickly just recently. But only do that if you have the space and resources for it.

I gave my king his base at least 5 years ago? If i was more well versed than i might have tried for a clear primal but oh well. He has a couple BO and has high stats so I'll take it. I'm in the process of clearing out some of my lionesses from back than so i can make room for more colourbombs and NCLs. I have a cave rn of NCLs that I've been mass breeding but I need more space.

If I managed to get a lab primal I will let you know, or either. So far I just have two primal fang mutations. I've also been trying to get more piebalds since primal is more gender specific. If there's anything I can do to help with your breeding project lmk.

Yeah, mass breeding tends to take up lots of space, I'm coming back to this account after a year or so and I kind of wanted to pick up on my full primal project (it's going well so far, the majority of the pride is just primals). I suggest looking for and breeding low fertility lionesses, they give higher chances. Also if there is a primal or labradorite lioness you want bred, I wouldn't mind doing a refunded studding or you could just put her heat up for breeding and I'll pay, just let me know. I really want to see more lab primals out there, they're so pretty. Also ty for offering help! Not sure what I would need help on next though, this is a slow project and I'm aware of that, but it's well worth it.

I wanted to let you know that my king is getting replaced soon. He will no longer be a primal, he will be an echo piebald. His heritage will be updated to a clean G2 tho.
