Nettlesnap The tom sat down in the nest again, the scent of the mouse in his jaws making it hard to resist biting into it immediately. He dropped it on the ground and pinned the prey underneath one of his paws. The mist had begun to dissipate already, thank the stars. The clan bloods would've patrolled even if it hadn't though, so It didn't affect much.. He pawed idly at the dead mouse, mulling over last moonhigh. There was no scuff of pawsteps, muffled by wet leaves; he had expected to hear Gentlebreeze coming back last night. Not even hours into sunfall did she return. The tom frowned though brushed it off with a brief shake of his head, sinking his white teeth into the morsel of food. Flecks of blood splattered his muzzle, licked off in occasional rasps of his tongue. The murmurs outside of the den jumbled together and he paid no attention to them until he heard his name. Nettlesnap lifted his head from the prey, swiping blood off his snout with one paw and picking up the leftover scraps. There was a brief second of debate as he considered what to do with it. A problem for later. He pawed the scraps and bones underneath a fern in camp quickly before he fully exited the warrior's den. The limp in his leg took him by surprise, sending a shudder up his spine when he stepped on it. He'd been under the impression that would have healed already. The tom hissed softly and walked along the wall of camp, stopping near one of the drier logs that had been sheltered by am overhanging tree during the rainstorm. 0 players like this post! Like? Cicadapaw cocked her head a little at that. She was waiting for Nettlesnap? That was odd. She didn't wait for anyone if she was hungry, not unless she was sharing with them of course. Was that it then? She wanted to share with him? They must've been quite close then, if she was putting it off. Her ears prick suddenly, and she pivots away, body pointing towards the trees. "I hear a bird!" She exclaims, straining her ears to listen. It's quiet, but audible to her ears. Though since she often listened for bird calls, she was able to pick up on it quickly. Without hesitation, she bounds off and towards the trees. Remembering some semblance of her training, she attempts to step lightly as to not alert her prey. Her nose wrinkles in concentration, avoiding everything on the ground that might make noise. The bird is pecking on the ground, looking for worms. Rain usually brings them out, how lucky for her! Cicadapaw lunges at it, having to spring into the air when it takes off skyward in a fright. Thankfully her teeth clamp down on a wing, and she lands on all fours, snapping the spine between her teeth. She searches for a nice spot to put it, nudging it into a crevice created by some tree roots - making a mental note of where it was so she could come back for it later. 0 players like this post! Gentlebreeze She watched him leave the hollow, and she followed. Stretching out her legs, and kneading the soft grass with her claws. She gazed at him with loving soft blue eyes as he padded to drink from an odd object, lapping at the water. He padded back towards her, and Gentlebreeze purred as she licked his shoulder affectionately. "Be careful." he smiled, the hint of worry in his eyes clear as day. He pushed his muzzle into her fur, and she copied him, her purr still rumbling. The flame pointed siamese twined her tail with his before she took a step back. "I'll be back when I can." she murmured. Her paws seemed like they suddenly got heavy. She didn't want to leave him. Every time she left him could be the last time they would meet. Everything she was doing right now was going against her beliefs and rules. Being in a relationship with a kittypet. Staying away from her clan with no warning. Willingly being around twolegs. The medicine cat gazed at Toby with sad eyes. "I love you." she purred softly, before pushing her muzzle into his fur one last time. She turned, and jumped up the wooden fence. Her claws dug into the splintery surface, and she glanced one last time at the flame colored tabby. Gentlebreeze jumped off the fence, landing neatly on the other side. She could already feel her throat tightening. The medicine cat barely stopped herself from turning back to Toby. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Palewind She watched Cicadapaw and sat to watch her catch the bird." Nicely done Cicadapaw." she stated with a smile as she rose to her paws making her way over to the apprentice. She was glad Cicadapaw had gotten the chance to catch some prey while they were out. She perked her ears to listen around for a moment before looking at the spot that the bird was tucked away in." If we catch anymore we should put it here or near here." she stated indicating the spot where the bird was hidden with her tail. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Owlstar He looked over at Hemlockshade, reassured by his reply. Owlstar had always been a believer in starclan. He knew they weren't perfect, of course. What cat could be? But they had trusted him with nine lives. That had to be something, surely. Even though the clan wasn't quite ready yet... His thoughts returned to the matter of more training for a moment. Would Hemlockshade agree? Most likely, but Owlstar knew his friend had never been one for team building exercises. The response about the territory made him smile, as he pictured the other tom scrambling after frogs in the mud. It probably had been more dignified than that, but it was fun to picture. The prey situation didn't surprise him much either. Even in leafbare, they had been able to keep the clan mostly well fed. "It's good that you've been able to catch something in that fog. Even if it was a frog" Owlstar smiled, teasing his friend a little. He knew that the other tom had never enjoyed the rather slimy prey, and Owlstar had occasionally pranked his friend when they were apprentices by hiding a frog leg, or occasionally the entire thing in Hemlockshade's nest. The next question was something of a suprise, but it was understandable. He played with the thought for a moment like a piece of prey, considering his answer. "I'm not entirely sure. Hawktalon wants to mentor him, and I'm not opposed to more cats joining the clan, if they can pull their weight, but..." Owlstar paused a moment before continuing. "Why would've he left Shadowclan as an apprentice? It just doesn't feel quite right." Toby He watched Gentlebreeze leap the fence, digging her claws into the wood, and he felt a pang of sadness. "Love you too!" His goodbye was cheerful, but his whiskers droopped as he turned back towards his housefolk's nest. He could only hope Gentlebreeze could make it back without incident, and be able to mask his scent. Padding back towards the hollow, he began to drag his bed back towards his housefolk's nest. While he tried to force it back inside, he happened to glance over into the neighboring yard. He noticed a small, black and white clump of fur, tucked into a somewhat sheltered portion of her yard. Had Aureum got shut out again? With a quiet sigh, he jumped up to check. Yep, that was definitely her. "Hey. Aureum. How do you keep getting shut out? This is like the third time." His voice was laced with a slight purr of amusement. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Gentlebreeze She padded on the hardstone, her ears twitching at every noise. She swished her tail uneasily as she spotted a plump kittypet eyeing her. Gentlebreeze turned her head slowly in their direction and let out a sharp hiss. The kittypet stared back at her with widened eyes, and scrambled away, dropping a few twoleg objects on the way. The medicine cat sighed. The scent of the forest strengthened and she padded quicker. She knew of a patch of mint that would cover up every last trace of Toby's scent. She thought of her clanmates, would they be alright? She prayed to the stars they hadn't decided to get into a reckless battle. Her whiskers twitched in amusement, anything was possible inside her clan. Gentlebreeze wouldn't be surprised if a pack of flying hedgehogs might've attacked over night. Aureum The young feline played with a round pebble at her paws. She could hear Toby's voice and another cat. Oh well, none of her business. She glanced up every so often, just to make sure her housefolk hadn't opened the door for her. Each time they shut her out, the time she was out seemed longer. Like they had forgotten about her. Her housefolk loved her, right? Aureum made sure they were well fed by bringing them lizards, and removing useless objects from the nest. The young feline enjoyed that, but the housefolk didn't. They always yelled at her, and shut her outside. Aureum's stomach rumbled in hunger. She mewed pitifully. Of course they hadn't bothered to put her bowl out. The cold hardstone beneath her seemed to take away her warmth, she curled up tighter. Her ears perked as she recognized Toby's voice. "Hey. Aureum. How do you keep getting shut out? This is like the third time." Toby mewed, laced with amusement. Aureum raised her head, looking at Toby. She clearly didn't think it was funny. She stared at her friend with an unamused look. "Knocked over more of those stupid pots." she rumbled grumpily. "My housefolk didn't even bother to let me in during the storm. Or give me food." she huffed, her ears lowered. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Toby He realized his mistake rather quickly as he noticed Aureum's ears droop slightly. "Sorry. I have some extra food left, if you want it." Toby smiled at the rather grumpy kitten, but he could feel his heart sink slightly. He had thought Aureum's housefolk were simply forgetful, but locking a kitten out in a storm wasn't something that his current housefolk would've never done. He looked down at the young cat, concern showing. Hopefully it had just been a mistake. Hopping back down off the fence into his yard, he moved to stand over by the entrance to his housefolk's nest. Owlstar Off topic but I thought about redesigning Owlstar because I thought he was looking a little like a tiger clone there Any thoughts about it? 3 players like this post! Like? |

(I love his markings!) Hawktalon She was finishing marking the borders, when she noticed Sootpaw looking over the river. "Everything alright?" She asked, looking where he was, to see nothing. She couldn't smell anything either. Only thing you can ever smell at this river was the stink of beaver when they're here. Sootpaw "Oh, yeah. Nothing I can see." He lied, he definitely saw something, but brushed it off. They continued their trek, catching a frog and two voles on the way. Sootpaw followed Hawktalon along the border, his paw pads slightly sore from the foreign forest floor and the amount of walking. "Do any other clans live here?" Hawktalon "None that we've seen, besides the occasional loner here and there." She was leading him back towards the camp, talking around the voles in her jaws. As they slipped back in the entrance, they dropped their prey at the prey pile. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

i really like it! ) Aureum She watched Toby, her eyes flickering with hunger. "Sorry. I have some extra food left, if you want it." Toby offered, a smile on his muzzle. Aureum's ears perked up and she jumped up in happiness. She ran towards the fence, and she licked her lips. Those dry pellets never sounded so appetizing to her, but now they seemed like a feast. She clawed up the wooden fence, sending splinters fluttering down. She followed Toby, almost jumping out of her pelt in glee. Her black and white kitten fur was ruffled and messy from the sleepless night before. She hadn't been able to close one eye, as she had kept hoping the housefolk would open the door. But they never did. The wind had battered the small feline. Her fur was spiky and the fur along her scruff was messy. Aureum followed Toby, her tail high in the air. 0 players like this post! Like? Cicadapaw beams, though scuffs at the dirt bashfully at the prize. "Ah, thank you Palewind. It was nothing really." She tries to keep it humble, even though her tail is lashing with excitement. Praise from any warrior made her feel good and very proud of herself. She felt like she was really helping out the clan whenever she caught something, or went on patrol. Really, carrying her weight was what helped her to lift her head with pride. She nods at Palewind's words. Of course, it made sense to keep their prey within the same area, after all. "Okay Palewind!" She chips out, before bounding off. She made sure to keep to the general area though, never really straying too far but keeping an eye and ear out for prey. - At the remark about the frog, Hemlockshade grimaces. He's always thought it was weird that Owlstar preferred them. Like really? Out of all the prey, you pick the weirdly textured one? Plucking out feathers or fur was not that much of a hassle, and Hemlockshade, as any good friend does, judged him mercilessly. He gives a nod to show he's listening. Of course Hawktalon would want to mentor her brother, they were siblings. They'd been practically joined at the hip since he'd come back to camp, like the seasons of separation had been nothing but a vivid dream. "It must've been something bad." He says after a few thoughtful moments. "I mean, it's not like Hawkstar was a particularly good leader to begin with, but banishing an apprentice seems..." Hemlockshade trails off, looking for the right word. There were certainly alot to pick from; but he's sure that Owlstar gets the idea. "Well, there's nothing to do but ask him upfront and go from there." He says finally. "If he wants to stay, he'll need to have a close eye kept on him. She what he does when his sister isn't with him." It was almost like he had spoken the words into existence. Shortly after, he sees the pair enter camp, side by side. Was this going to become a new habit? Who knows. It also reminded him that Gentlebreeze wasn't back either. Odd. He had initially assumed that the rain had caused her to find a spot to hide, but she should've been back now, surely. (The design is pretty! I'm personally partial to the little orange in his design, I think it adds a nice pop of color ) 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Palewind The she cat smiled watching Cicadapaw closely before Turing her attention to Mudpaw still keeping an eye on the other apprentice.” So Mudpaw are you excited to get a mentor? After all that means more being out of camp.” She stated as she sniffed around the border area with curiosity making sure no strange loner or rouge had crossed over. The she cat perked her ears thinking she had heard something but she ruled it as Cicadapaw or herself or Mudpaw stepping on a twig. Though it could have been prey but there wasn’t any around her that she could see at the moment, I like him!// 1 player likes this post! Like? Mudpaw Mudpaws dark blue eyes glared at the young she-cat as she walked off. His whisker twitched in annoyance as a sense of jealousy rise inside him. He wanted to prove himself to Palewind too, but he hadn't been taught how to hunt yet. It had only been a moon since he became an apprentice, and he still didn't have a mentor. He was lost in his thoughts until Palewind spoke to him. “So Mudpaw are you excited to get a mentor? After all, that means more being out of camp”. Mudpaw flinched and turned to face the cream-colored warrior, responding half-heartedly, “Yeah, I guess.” He paused for a moment before continuing."You know, Palewind, I feel like Owlstar is still treating me like a kit. I should be able to hunt now like Cicadapaw! I want to be of use to the Clan! Well, she's one moon older than me, but still…Its just. Its just not fair.” (Dont know if this is intentional, but i like that his markings resemble the shape of pines since he's like, the leader of Pineclan!) 1 player likes this post! Palewind The she cat stopped and looked at the apprentice.” I…..I’m sure he thinks you can handle it. But I understand how you feel Mudpaw. Sometimes I feel he treats me differently because I wasn’t born into the clan. Almost like he thinks I need to be lectured like an apprentice or a kit.” She spoke honestly to the apprentice because she understood how he was feeling, she didn’t like feeling like she was treated differently so she felt Mudpaw had every right to feel how he was. 0 players like this post! Nettlesnap The quiet makes his whiskers twitch and he huffs softly, flicking his gaze to the camp exit. Owlstar had gotten annoyed last sunset about him just walking out, but there was nothing to do in camp here, was there? The tom tilted his head slightly and strode over to the entrance, closer to the earthy pine scent that hung thick in the forest. The soil was wet enough to brush at the tip of his tail, if he were any smaller the mud would be reaching his belly fur, which wasn't great to think about considering how much it rained here. His paws itched to leave camp and he stared at the trees intently like a starved cat would stare at prey, the tip of his tail twitching. Nettlesnap flexed his claws between the mud, impatience making his muscles twitch. He would have gone, but wasn't too keen on another interaction with Owlstar. The thought of the older cat speaking made him shudder, and he still couldn't tear the recurring thoughts of what the leader had said. Horrid clan blood. His eyes widened when he noticed the edges of his paws submerged in mud, a hiss escaping his maw as the tom leapt up onto a log nearby the entrance to avoid getting sucked in. Being one of the.. uniquely sized, cats, he had to be much more careful with these things. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 13/02/24 @ 09:10:12 by Fancy fork [Cutlery] (#427147) |

Cicadapaw could feel someone staring daggers into her pelt as she's walking away, and her head turns just in time to see a sharp glare on Mudpaw's face. She blinks, fur prickling in confusion. What was that for? She hadn't done anything wrong, so she was a bit surprised at the sudden display of hostility. She didn't have to strain her ears to hear his response to Palewind's question, though walks further off path. She wasn't aware so many cats had grievances with Owlstar. She felt like he was a good leader herself, and hearing them felt like she was intruding on a private conversation. So she hurried further away, deciding to come back later. She didn't want to be a nosy bird after all. Cicadapaw thinks that the territory is nice, and has a bit of childish fun leaping over puddles of mud and large tree roots. She hasn't been off on her own before, but figures it's fine. After all, she can probably track her scent back to the path. 0 players like this post! Like? |
