"we're meeting up with another task force there, as a few of their men are hostages. the only job for you is to retreive our soldiers, and kill the enemies who get in the way" price added

mawce just smiled at shadow the best he could. once they landed mawce was the first out the doors and ran straight into the building. right as he went through the doors he shifted and started to kill every enemy in sight

shadow chased after him, and the other task force followed
shadow bit and tore at enemy soldiers, eventually making it to the room where the hostages were being kept. a few were dead, shot in various parts of their body
shadow didn't recognise any of soldiers, but he knew they were the good guys and helped them out

mawce looked around in a hurry. he didn't recognize anyone in the room and let out a sigh, he heard a yell from someone on his team, there was a few other places to check. mawce went off on his own to check a hallway where prisoners possibly might be. there was a room at the end of the hall he was strangely drawn too and once he opened it up he froze. tears started to pour down his face as he saw zero, in the chair in front of him, dead.
mawce let out a scream, wasn't a scream that he was scared but more of a mournful depressed scream and he fell down to his knees. his wings drooped at his side as he kept crying over his dead friend in front of him.

shadow heard mawce in the next room, running over, he thought mawce was hurt, but he was confused when he saw him sitting next to a carcass of a random soldier, he walked over, signing to mawce 'are you okay?'

mawce was to distraught to respond he gently grabbed zero and pulled him close while crying. mawce looked like a mess when crying, he didn't feel anything like this when his ma died so it was strange for him.

shadow didn't know what to do, he only ever cried when he was hurt or panicking, and didn't understand why mawce was crying over a random dead soldier, espeacially since he didn't have any visible injuries, but he just figure mawce needed a minute and left to the room to go take out more enemies

mawce couldnt believe it, he shouldve fought with price to be able to keep zero with him... he didn't want to let go of zero, he couldn't bring himself to let go and search for other fallen soldiers..

once the team was done retreiving the hostages, both dead and alive, python came to get mawce, "wendigo. we need to go" he said, not noticing the corpse at first glance
