Personally I use imgbb! If you use that, you can insert your pfp, and click the html full link, copy it and ONLY USE the part in the *second* " area. Example:

(okay this should show up as a code, not as a picture!)

If you downloaded the image you could try to screenshot it and upload it that way I honestly have no clue why it isn't working other than that. It could be the jpg, but I'd try to screenshot first, if not I couldn't help anymore
