Breed-Only Base Pack

The breed-only base pack is here! Today, we have added SIXTEEN new bases to the game, all breed-only, all based on player suggestions! These bases have Rare genetics, meaning they can only appear from breeding, just like Ebony, Goridhe, etc.!

Bugs Fixed

* Fixed an issue with the beetle Feed All tool not working
* Fixed issues with board feeds not displaying
* Fixed issues with marking opacities not saving properly if the "Create Custom Lioness" and "Customise Lion" tools errored out
* Removed "Level" from battle beetle sorting options, since beetles do not have actual levels
* Removed Ruffian skin from the "Create Custom Lioness" and "Customise Lion" tools

Server Migration Summary

While the server migration wasn't completely without its issues, it went relatively smoothly all things considered. We're still tweaking server settings to eliminate the residual 50x Gateway errors and to get the most performance out of everything. The gateway errors are down to around 120-150 for every ~900,000 requests, but we'd like to see that get down even lower.

Many of the issues that we experienced were due to updating a lot of the backend software to more secure and recent updates. This includes the software that reads and interprets our code, manages background jobs (like energy), indexes data for search results, and even the database software itself. Much of this software was at least several years behind, meaning that a lot of the APIs had changed or in the case of PHP, became more strict. While we did test a majority of the systems and update our code where it needed to be updated in places, there were of course some areas that got overlooked or are difficult to test when not under the same processing demands (which is where the monitoring and tweaking comes in).

Finally, some players have reported problems that are related to DNS and the change in server location / IP address. Usually these types of issues (slow speeds or the inability to access the server at all) resolve themselves after a period of time. In some instances, clearing your local DNS cache can help with that. Guide to clearing your DNS

We appreciate your patience during all of that! And your continued patience as we continue to work out some of the lingering issues.

Some of the related issues that were fixed

* Energy workers were multiplying faster than Wenet's cousins, causing long regeneration delays
* Lion workers were not completing transfers properly and items appeared to be missing (they weren't missing, they were just stuck in limbo until the workers were unstuck)
* Trades were erroneously displaying as "no longer available" (even though they still were, it was just a display issue)
* The Hunting Grounds for a handful of players (~40) did not populate properly when the game first came back up
* Some rollover stages were not processing properly, resulting in stuck rollovers
* Emails were being sent into the void (if you're still not receiving emails, be sure to check your junk folder and add Lioden to your safe list!)
* Some search indexes were not indexing correctly
* Search was only showing a single page of results

Some of the issues being investigated

* Raffle result messages are coming out scrambled
* Some players are reporting energy not restoring properly
* 50x Gateway errors

Imgur & Discord Service Issues

Right around the time that we began the server move, Imgur began rejecting image requests with the dreaded "403 Imgur is temporarily over capacity". While images hosted on Imgur continue to display properly for users through the browser, attempting to inspect images server side via their API is met with rejection. To ensure it wasn't just a matter of us moving the server, we checked via the old server while it's still online and received the same error. Unfortunately, we don't know when (or if) this will be fixed on Imgur's end, so in the meantime you will need to find alternative hosting for your profile pictures and clan banners. Just be sure the image link you get ends in an actual extension such as .jpg or .png.

Which brings us to another issue: using Discord as an image and CSS host. Discord announced last year that they would be disabling the ability to use hosted assets for longer than 24 hours. Any images or CSS files that are hosted on Discord become inaccessible outside of Discord via their link after 24 hours. You can read more about that here.

So for anyone having trouble with their CSS or images, be sure to host those somewhere other than Discord. And for anyone experiencing issues with changing their profile avatar or clan banner, be sure to host those somewhere other than Imgur or Discord.
