A long time ago a few failed tests of hybrids broke out of cells. There was hundreds. It was like a zombie apocalypse. They could bite and turn others into mythic animals. That was 25 years ago. They adapted to society with more only growing to the point they made a military. Unfortunately that wasn't good for the human military's. Since these... "creatures"are extremely stealthy and unusually powerful. That sparked wars. No not nuclear since the hybrids didn't have those.
