Aleela was not born in Storm’s Peak Pride. She has very little memories of her family. She only remembers the warmth of her siblings and a blurry image of a lioness she thinks is her mother. She was abandoned in hyena territory, surely left there to die. She managed to go unnoticed for a few days, growing weaker with every day passing by, before she was found by a few hyenas. They were unsure what to do with her, so they brought her to their queen Mosi. To everyone’s surprise Mosi fell in love with her and decided to raise her alongside her own cubs. Of course not everyone was pleased with Mosis decision, but they respected their queen and didn’t dare to question her decision further. Growing up, most hyenas got used to her and she learned their ways. She was very close with Mosis cubs, especially Taji, who became her best friend. While she grew up, Mosi realized she needed to learn the ways of lions. It was a hard decision for the queen, but then Aleela was old enough to fend for herself, she sent her away to find a pride, even though she wasn’t an adult yet. Taji decided to join her. It took her a while to find a pride, which was willing to take her and didn’t mind a hyena sticking around. This pride was Storm’s Peak Pride. During that time Storm’s Peak Pride had problems with the local hyena clan and the High Priest and Chief Huntress debated wether they should drive them out or not. Upon hearing this Aleela stepped up and offered to talk to them. She not only managed to solve the problems, but they also let Taji join. Even though he lived with the hyenas now, Taji would often visit her at Storm’s Peak.
