This is a topic that has been weighing heavily on me for awhile now and so I wanted to see what others opinions were on the topic.

Particularly this stems from some very troubling developments I've seen from offsite Lioden discussions in places like Discord, Tiktok, ect. To be precise, I mean the amount of people under the age of 16 admitting to be so knowing Lioden won't do anything about it. The amount of times I've seen people on Lioden Tiktok posting about how they're 13 and play lioden, or replying to comments with their age is genuinely scary.

I've seen children as young as 11 admitting to being underage however liodens rule against taking offsite proof makes it impossible to report these players.

Many underaged players in discord groups get targeted in some circles offsite from lioden. While lioden doesn't have control of what people do off the site of lioden, they have some responsibility as a company to prevent these things from happening as much as humanly possible. People will slip through the cracks, there will always be stuff out of their control, but that SHOULDN'T be an excuse to do nothing.

What about falsifying proof? I don't want to get framed and suspended!

As someone with a deeper connection to this topic I can tell you the process for being unsuspended from this is very easy. Once you prove your age, boom! No account standing drops, no major punishments. When I was unsuspended I was met with kindness and understanding (I even apologized for being a dumb kid, lol)

Lioden does good with this. Children are naive and learn with age. I'm happy that they give such graces despite not being obligated to.
That being said.. Children being in adult/semi adult spaces endangers ALL parties involved and it should be addressed and met with more force.

Won't kids just photoshop fake proof of age or get their parents to hand over their ids?

You underestimate the difficulty of photoshop! Lioden has a very effective way of ensuring the proof is legit. Even if some kids managed to get by with this method, doing something is better than doing nothing IMO, especially regarding child and adult safety alike.

Also I'd find it pretty weird if someone signed up as say.. 18, and provided an ID of a 30+ yr old. Lioden would have to use their better judgement in these areas which is not my expertise.

My only concern

Other than being underaged.. the framing for other serious infractions is a genuine concern. Due to this, I mainly think this should be implimented due to age concerns only.

I know there's some pretty.. Feral people on this site. To keep the most people safe, proof regarding other bannable or suspendable rule breaks shouldn't be implimented as that can be used for evil and cause genuine damage. Keeping children from a semi-adult space would benefit both sides and hurt no one.

Whole heartedly agree, it's terrifying to see how many people admit being underage on other apps/websites without being able to do anything against it

tbh on one hand i do agree that the underage users are a problem, but i deff see this starting more problems
what if someone doesnt own an id?
how do you know the screenshot hasnt been taken out of context?
what if someone is 'framed' and doesnt have an id, are they banned?
how do you know if the discord user for example is the same user on the site?
plus im pretty sure there are some legal implications about taking offsite proof

This needs a support button! As i support you whole heartedly.
I've had this problem more so on Wolvden, where I've had to block underage players through being consistently disruptive in chat and trying to drag me into offsite dramas. I am 35 years old. I do not play these games for drama i play them to relax! I have also had a (very brief) attempt at bullying me for being "too old in a kids game" (also on Wolvden) but being a long term well respected player among the community i was fiercely defended. The thing is, chat shouldn't HAVE to fiercely defend the older players. These situations shouldn't be a thing. How is this relevant? The culprits have admitted to being 14 years old offsite...but nothing can be done, right.
I know this isn't specifically on Lioden but Wolvden is just a smaller collection of Lioden player base for the most part. If it's happening there it's damn well happening here that's for sure! I completely agree with everything you've said here.
I've been on Lioden 9 years this month and Wolvden since it started and I'd like to see something change on this subject if ever it's possible.
You wrote it really well just to add!

Lioden takes any form of legal document that shows age! If someone doesn't have an ID, they usually have a birth certificate.

Luckily Lioden can only ever suspend someone one time for this, and is pretty easy to be unsuspended from it. There is also not a perma ban for it, and worse case scenario the account gets lock for a year or two but isn't completely gone. (Not ideal, but like I said something is better than nothing at all)

When it comes to if proving their the same person cross platform, that may be a little tricky. I have no rebuttle to this argument as it IS risky.

As to the legal implications, I am not well read on that subject so I cannot say with any confidence that there is. However, I'm sure there's legal implications to knowingly allowing someone under the age of 16 play in the United Kingdom where the company is run. Again, when signing up you agree to the ToS so Lioden is, legally, in the clear in this aspect.
.. buuut morally? Not so much. While it WOULD be a major risk.. the benefits imo would outweigh them.

As far as I know it IS possible to ban a person if they said something cross platform, there just has to be valid proof on lioden (such as the discord user in a lioden message etc) although I'm not 100% sure about this, this is just what I picked up from both personal- and other people's experiences

imo i dont think the mods would ever bring this into effect
too risky, and mods dont do anything without 100% concrete evidence that they can see

The moderators have no power to change the rules, however the game developers do and can change the rule.

While I agree it is a big risk, a bigger risk is this site being labeled as a risk for children.

I didn't really wanna bring this part up, but the roleplay community is majority the younger crowd, and there has been several instances of nsfw content being exposed to minors offsite via these on site things. While Lioden, again, is technically legally in the safe zone it's the MAJOR risks such as these where children can be exploited is why I'm concerned. The rewards VASTLY outweigh the risks when you consider this.

Not to mention the adults are ALSO at risk. Imagine thinking you're talking to another adult just for someone's parent to look through their phone and find you, an adult, talking to their child whom is pretending to be an adult. That can change someone's REAL life.

However I do agree, it would be risky but in my mind? A necessity.

To add actually, i have a close friend who is now in her 20s, but joined Lioden around 13 years old iirc. She was suspended but came back and apologised for being a silly child once above the age limit. They opened up both of her accounts straight away with no fuss and she's active to this day. She said its easy to get it all running again once an age ban is lifted same as you have! I thought i may as well mention this too
