So I have a beautiful pitbull mix named Miley, but I'm not sure whether she's a pitbull/greyhound mix or a pitbull/boxer mix. A friend of mine says she is a boxer mix, while my family believes she's a greyhound. Opinions?

I don't believe she is mixed with greyhound; I could see boxer as a possibility though. Most known greyhound mixes are lurchers that typically look like fuzzy or fluffy greys.

she could just as well be a purebred american pit bull terrier too - they don't have a uniform appearance, and I've seen plenty of pedigreed purebreds who look exactly like her in anatomy. if you're in north america, apbts are also the most common breed in shelters, even as purebreds! if you're wanting to eliminate the guessing (because no one will ever know for sure based on her phenotype), I'd recommend an embark dna test!

Definitely not greyhound! I wouldn't be surprised if this dog was all bull breed, maybe even all pit bull (maybe). If the dog is blue (looks like it? Hard to tell) she can't be first gen half boxer. Blue is very common in bully breeds, especially American bully, but doesn't exist in boxers. It's also a simple recessive, meaning it would need to come from both parents to express. But some boxer from more than one generation ago is possible!

Sighthound mixes have a really distinctly sighthound look, especially to their heads, that this dog doesn't have. In Australia and the UK, sighthound x bully mixes called bull lurchers are common, but it's pretty unusual to see elsewhere, and they're usually pretty easy to visually ID. People tend to want to call anything deep-chested and rose-eared sighthounds when actually those are common traits in a lot of breeds! And, more dogs are long-legged than you think, especially pet/shelter dogs that are sterilized very young. Pediatric sterilization effects bone growth and can cause s dog to be leggier and leaner than you'd expect as an adult of a given breed. It causes a lot of incorrect greyhound and whippet guesses in bully breeds specifically.

Anyway my money is on all pit bull, all American bully, or a cross of those two!

Looks pitbull to me!

^^^^ my dog was spayed when she was about a month old and it caused her legs to grow longer and her body type not to properly fit her breeds, making her appear as something else. wondering if that might've been what happened here! <3
