You’ll be able to tell immediately at birth. Both Tigons and Leopons have different artwork associated with them. So no you won’t need to check for mutations if a Leopon or tigon is born as it will show up immediately :)

not only is shadow correct, but there are a total of four achievements tied to hybrids, with two of them being specific to birthing a hybrid, depending on if it's a first generation, or if it's a regular hybrid.

the first achievement (not specific to a first gen) is known as "Fairly Odd Parents", it's the achievement you get when you have a hybrid born in your pride in general, regardless if it's a first generation or a non first generation hybrid. it will always appear with the birth of hybrid!

the second achievement is called "Err... What?" and it is tied to receiving a first generation hybrid. alongside receiving the achievement, you will receive a message either with your rollover message, or, assuming you ibfed the mother, a standalone message; letting you know something along the lines that your lioness has had an affair with an outside male, and that the cub is a hybrid.
