Do you like bugs? Do you have any photos, stories, or facts to share? If so, please post them here. All arthropods count, as well as worms and other invertebrates commonly called "bugs."

Due to the nature of this thread, please be warned that there may be some insect, arachnid, and other "creepy-crawly" photos. If you have any relevant phobias, this thread may be best avoided.

Moth image above.

I don't have any recent photos, but I took a photo of this little guy a little while back. I believe that they're a female pale tussock. Regrettably, I had to stop one of my house gremlins (cats) from making a snack of them. Thankfully, I successfully stopped her, and they were not harmed at all by cat hijinks.

I had a really small cutie come say hello to me! A lil jumping spooder!

(awful picture because it was so small!)

I let them go outside on my plants! He is now Gerald, the Protector of my Plants xD

Then I had this menace almost plow into my head as I was pumping gas into my car!

Aw! I love Gerald. I actually encountered a jumping spider not too long ago myself. Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos, though.

It seems like that cicada woke up and chose violence that day.

He was super cute! I would talk to him and he would tilt his head and do a little dance with his front arms! I don't know a ton about insects/arachnids, but they are cute af...most of the time xD

That cicada was sinister xD

Jumping spiders are such delightful little guys. In my opinion, all bugs are cute, but some are cute and dangerous.

I bet that they're scheming at this very moment.

I saw a tonne of maggots on my door and up the outdoor walls. They were coming out of the bin and did look a little big and not quite translucent enough for newborns (though, I'm not a professional on the matter,) so maybe they were going to pupate soon.

I can absolutely understand their bad reputation, but I find the little guys and their adult counterparts absolutely fascinating. They're valuable in the medical field and ecologically, being an important source of food for many animals and recycling nutrients. They're also just fun to watch! I couldn't identify them beyond being Brachycera fly larvae, sadly. I have heard that they're notorious difficult to identify, but I'd love to find a handy resource so I could at least try.

I enjoy bugs, to a certain degree.. I like cicadas, moths, butterflies, beetles.
I contemplated getting some stag beetles to raise about a year ago but didn't quite go through with it.. I'm sure it isn't too complicated but I got anxious.. maybe something for future me. However, I did just ordered my first tarantulas and I cannot wait for them to come in! I can update with pics when they do, but they'll be on the smaller side!!
I've been dying to chit chat about it, but I think my boyfriend and irl friends are still skeeved out by it..
I'm not usually a spider person but tarantulas are so fuzzy and cute.. I couldn't help it.

Ohh, tarantulas! I do agree that they're adorable. What species are you adopting? I love Mexican red-knee tarantulas.

Stag beetles are also nice; I've heard that rainbow stag beetles are fairly low maintenance, but I've never kept them personally so I cannot speak from experience. I've actually never kept any insects or arachnids as pets as an adult, though I am interested in doing so in the future.

I ordered from two different shops as I wanted to see if there was any difference in their Avicularia purpurea. I love colored tarantulas and the purple color is so cool.

This is what I ordered in total:
1x Avicularia juruensis M2 (Peru Purple Pink-Toe)
2x Avicularia purpurea (Purple Pink Toe)
1x Caribena versicolor (Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula)
1x Hapalopus formosus was Hapalopus sp. Colombia (Pumpkin Patch)

Ahh I can't wait. From what I've read, bugs are pretty low mantienence and not crazy expensive either - you can DIY a lot of stuff for them! I set up some enclosures today, I cannot wait. They should arrive this Wednesday.

Aw! Those guys are really fuzzy. I love the appearance of pumpkin patch tarantulas especially; I'm partial to black and orange, needless to say, aha!

I'm looking forward to seeing them all. I hope that they all settle in nicely.

There's a spider next to my desktop who spun a web on my lamp, she caught a few flies and it was so fascinating to watch her try wrap them when she was so much smaller (she wasn't big at all, smaller than an ant)
I didn't name her and she's probably dead by now but i see tiny baby versions of her around the house which is pretty cool

@Fancy Fork

She was trying her best, and she succeeded. She deserves a tiny medal. I know that a lot of spiders do sadly die shortly after laying their eggs, but it's a nice thought that her hatchlings are still around and sticking around, at least for awhile.

Maybe she is/was a money spider. Those guys are absolutely tiny, but I'm not sure how they compare to an average ant where you are, or even if there are any money spiders wherey you're located.

Aww! As you should! She was safe where she was, evidently.
