what is a Jaglion?
The rare offspring of a male jaguar and a female lion, usually impossible due to them being not in the same area/habitat.
Is It possible In Real Life ?
Yes! there is a case of it happening in captivity between two big cats kept together. I’ve written below about it.
On April 9, 2006, two jaglions were born at Bear Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, Barrie (north of Toronto), Ontario, Canada. Jahzara (female) and Tsunami (male) were the result of an unintended mating between a black jaguar called Diablo and a lioness called Lola, which had been hand-raised together and were inseparable.
Quoted from bear creek sanctuary
“In the case of the jaglions' parents, Lola and Diablo, every precaution was taken.A great many people didn't think it was even possible for Lola to conceive, but nonetheless, she was separated from Diablo each time
she came into estrus.
You may ask why the separation wasn't made permanent. Actually, this was attempted several times over the past few years. Lola and Diablo have always been together. They came to Bear Creek within weeks of one another, were bottle fed in the same nursery and became constant companions. It seemed only logical to house them together as they grew up. When they were reaching maturity, separation was attempted, only to result in both animals becoming very anxious and suffering depression to the point where Lola refused to eat. After a few attempts with the same results, Lola and Diablo remained together and, against all odds and the efforts of the Bear Creek staff, Nature prevailed and the babies were born.
Lola and Diablo were permanently separated in 2012. They still share a fence,
and communicate daily. Lola is happy and healthy.
Tsunami and Jahzara might be the only jaglions in the world.
They are beautiful, perfect, healthy and active. It seems Nature knows its stuff.”
(Please note despite mentioning this, I do not stand by bear creek sanctuary and their care.)
- What is a
Jaglion (lioden) -
A jaglion is a jaguar x lion hybrid!
Jaglions are a hybrid that has been teased for years! And finally at the start of this year we had some transparency that they will be added! Over the past month there has been explore teasers and teasers in news and offisite.
Jaglions were released officially the 28th of June 2024 through This news post they are through a storyline with a boost reward! Similar to tigons!
Worth of Jaglions
This is totally unpredictable, it depends on how many are brought into the game with the boosts, and how people price them! But the first one (depends if it’s born alone and mass jags aren’t being born) might even go for 1-3kgb!
How hard is it to get Jaglions?
I’m not sure how giving this boost will be but It depends on how you are going to do it! Buying them is obviously 100% that you will receive one. CRBs for first gens is a MASSIVE gamble. So the next best option is buying heats. Buying reverse heats and breeding other jaglions for the hope of a pass!
- Jaglion Storyline / boost -
Adventuring storyline
You must pay 2000sb and have a level 5+ king to proceed with this storyline. And it closes August 1st ( to be started )
Jaglion Boost
Similar to tigons Jaglions were released with a boost. Once finishing the storyline the user will receive 20 boosts. Those which have INCREASED chances of popping a jag but no guarantee. The adventure will be disabled on august 1st but can still be completed if started before then.
The whole news post on it can be read here. Click Here!
Jaglions could be bred as soon as the news post hit.
When using your 20 boosts there is no guarantee of a jaglion cub. And I suggest just using a normal NCL for these boosts (unless you are aiming for a certain base) DONT use any crbs, buffys, gmos, or ANY breeding items. As this will be a waste. The boost rolls on the first cub so using litter - increasing items is a waste. Fertility also doesn’t help.
Some important feature of the boost are noted below. Straight from news.
🐆 - Upon completing the adventure, you will receive 20 boosts that will roll once per successful breeding. Each successful breeding will take away 1 boost from that count.
🐆 - You are able to view how many boosts you have remaining through a banner at the top of your den page. after you’ve completed the storyline.
🐆 - All boosts are equal. The first and last boost are the same, and having more or less boosts doesn't make the boost any more or less effective.
🐆 - The boost rolls on the first cub in the litter only. Meaning no buffys or gops required!
🐆 - The boost is not affected by breeding items. includes crbs, gmo cows, buffys, gops, crunchy worms ETC
🐆 - The boost is equivalent in chances to the Tigon Hype breeding boost.
🐆 - The boost only applies to lions bred within your own pride, not to outside lionesses, studs, or the reverse breeding feature. no studding it out, or selling it unless going around the usual features.
🐆 - The boost is a flat % boost that has better chances than a 1% fertility lioness to produce a Jaglion cub. With the boost active, fertility is irrelevant (except for Infertile... hopefully that's obvious!). it doesn’t matter what fert is used. Chances are the same.
🐆 - Jaglions can be bred without taking the adventure—the adventure only gives you boosted odds to breed them once it is completed. without the adventure they can be bred with normal random mutation odds
🐆 - Once you take the adventure, retiring your king does not affect anything, and you can safely retire after the adventure has been started.
🐆 - Boosts are tied to your account, not your king, so you can retire with your boosts intact.
- First Generation Jaglions -
What are they exactly?
X placeholder for jaglion image
A first generation Jaglion
When a first generation Jaglion is born it will keep its mother’s heritage but it’s father will be wiped as “unknown” meaning the father’s heritage will also we wiped. - so the jaglions heritage is based of the mothers only.
What’s the difference between First gens and normal jaglions?
First gens are just about a difference mutation nearly. While normal jags have a 5% pass rate of passing jaglions. While first gens have a 10% pass rate. First generation jaglions have an exclusive mark unique to them. First gens can ONLY be obtained randomly through breeding ( outside of the boost)
How do I breed First Generation jaglions
First generation jaglions cannot pass down from a normal Jaglion (unless extremely rare chance) instead they have a EXTREMELY low chance to pop up as a random mutation. To increase the chance of getting a first generation hybrid you can use mutation influencing items. I do not advise using them while using the boost The best way to increase your chances is doing mass CRB projects. But if I’m being honest it’s a massive gamble. I did 856 crbs in 2023, which the results can be found here the results were rough. People have gotten first gen hybrids in 1-200 crbs while others are in 1k-4K crbs deep without a hybrid. It’s all up to luck.
Other ways are when you have a crb lioness to stack them with lion meat. Or a gmo cow, and even better! Make sure these lioness are low fert! That’s your best chance other than crbs
Also it is to keep in mind that when breeding crbs to a pie stud, if that pie passes it has a chance to overtake the random mutation, which in this case could be a hybrid. Here’s the roll order
Buffalo Scrotum
Why use it?
Buffalo Scrotum increases the amount of cubs in the litter by 3+ meaning you could get 3 cubs or 4! Hybrids naturally pass, meaning the more cubs you can get the more hybrid chances you have! Each cub rolls for 5% of a chance!
Grain of paradise
Why use it?
Grain of paradise increases the amount of cubs in the litter by 3+ meaning you could get 2 cubs 3 or 4! Hybrids naturally pass, meaning the more cubs you can get the more hybrid chances you have! Each cub rolls for 5% of a chance!
Instant birth feather
Why use it?
You should use this for the first day your Jaglion ages up! This will grant you an extra heat if you use it every heat! This items makes your lions Birth instantly, meaning you don’t need to wait the 3 days!
Optional items to use
Lion Meat
Lion meat can be used for an extra chance at a mutation, not a hybrid specifically but any mutation. This will not help your lion pass a hybrid.
GMO cow
This is another mutation increasing item! This will increase your odds at a mutation a bit more than a lion meat but then again it’s completely optional and it will not increase your chance of a hybrid pass.
Items NOT to use.
Cotton Root Bark
I do NOT advise using crbs, as this will kill your lioness whole litter. Meaning that you could ultimately kill a hybrid. I only advise using crbs only on normal lions. NOT on hybrids,
Lion Scrotum
Lion Scrotum usually helps the pass of a mutation but this is NOT the case for hybrids. This item is a waste of time and money. This will NOT help the passing of a hybrid in anyway.
Jaglion Heats
Jaglions have heats every 20 days just like any other lion. They can pass naturally down a jaglion! First gen jags have a 10% chance per cub while normal jags have a 5% chance!
The only way to increase your chances of getting a jaglion in a litter is by using items to increase litter size. Such as buffalo scrotum and grain of paradise. You should use all heats as soon as they come into them for maximum heats!
As for pricing jaglion heats, as they are a brand new hybrid we can expect they will be priced quite highly for the first year or so. Therefore I have no pricing guide on their heats yet.
Jaglion generations
jaglions generations can determine their price and value. Though unfortunately I myself haven’t made a in-depth guide about telling generation or clean VS dirty Yet so I’ve linked two guides!
🐆- First generation Jaglions are born with 5 in each stat, while non-first generation Jaglions get 10% of the stats they would have received as normal, like with Leopons and Tigons
🐆 - Mother Jaglions have a 10% chance of passing on the Jaglion mutation if they are a first generation, and a 5% chance to pass if anything above first generation (identical to Leopons and Tigons)
🐆- Jaglions do not have a unique base, as their marking has a unique passing mechanic
🐆 - The base fertility for all Jaglions defaults to 5%
- Obtaining Jaglions -
Breeding them - not through hybrids
Now the more, Risky…harder and irritating way to breed a jaglion is by breeding a first generation jaglion. which is rough. I recommend that you do mass crbs for this. As you have more chances. But like I said above It’s really a gamble. 100-1000 crbs it may take. More or less. I recommend also, that when you have lion meats or crbs that you stack just like this..
Low fert girl + lion meat + crb (remember to apply the crb first)
OR
Low fert girl + GMO cow + crb (remember to apply the crb first)
This will give you the best chance at a higher up mutation!
Buying Jaglions
The simplest of them all. Buying the Jaglion. Saving up for one and buying them has no fail! But I do suggest that you wait for the hype to die down.
Passing Through Heats
Heats are a great way to get hybrids, but expect the fact that most will fail. So it can be quite expensive. Each cub in a litter has a 5% pass rate meaning the more cubs the better. You can buy barked heats (which I don’t recommend outside of feb) or you can buy normal heats.
boost
Like mentioned above, using the boost is the best chance right now! There’s more about the boost in the storyline/boost section!
- Jaglion Exclusive marks/base -
Unlike our usual hybrids who are strict to 1 exclusive base and mark Jaglions are a bit different
What is exclusive to g1 Jaglions only?
The only thing that can ONLY appear from a g1 jag (apart from being passed down) is the phantom rosette. (As shown In the picture below)
Just like any other rosette with the addition of a darker tint around it, which is apart of the mark.
First generation Jaglions are born with a forced skin of "Matte", forced eye colour of "Intense Heat", and forced mane shape of "Scarce" these features will appear on all first generation jaglions along with the phantom rosette marking in slot 2, 4, or 7.
Base
These Jaglions do not have a specific base tied to them. Due to the complexity of the markings passing down. Instead bases work just like any normal lion would. So you can get a first gen Jaglion with ANY base. And really helpful link is this
just plug in any base of the lioness you are breeding and it will come up with all the possible bases your Jaglion could be!
Phantom rosette
Like mentioned above every first gen will be born with a phantom rosette. This marking has a small chance to pass down to cubs, both mutated and not mutated. If a non- mutated cub gets her marking then she will have an extremely small chance to pass it on. (2% chance the markings will pass down to HER cubs) if the father is a Jaglion that chance to pass down the marking turns to 4% (despite the father not having the markings and the mother not being a jaglion). BUT if the cub is a Jaglion AND has inherited the mothers base it has a 10% chance to pass down to its cubs. Even if breeding with a male jaglion.
Mane colour
Many colour can be any colour on first gens! Just like any other normal breeding!
Why do people king hybrids?
People king hybrids purely Just because . I kinged a tigon myself because it fit my lore. But generally it is literally just a flex. There is no advantages to kinging a hybrid.
What are the limitations?
Kinging hybrids aren’t all fun and joy, hybrids kings CANNOT pass down hybrids. Hybrid kings CAN only breed to goddess FERT lions. There is no fun in kinging them as it is expensive and generally for nothing.
are there any advantages?
Other than a sick cool lineart there is! If breeding a male jaglion stud to a lion with the phantom mark they have an increased chance to pass that mark down!
- Making profits from jaglions -
This is another thing a bit hard to determine due to no jags being ingame yet
Selling Heats
Selling heats is pretty reliable! Unfortunately I can’t help with the pricing yet. you can sell either reverse or split heats through the reverse breeding function. Meaning people pay you to use the heat and get the cubs. Meaning the lion will stay with the owner but the cubs will go to the buyer. OR even better you could sell barked heats! Which cost 20 barks from the heat buyer. This pulls your lioness into cool-down so you don’t need to wait for her heat and it shouldn’t take up a natural heat if done properly
Selling Hybrid Cubs
Hybrid cubs! The next best thing. Obviously this is a gamble as you will need to use the heats yourself but if you get a hybrid you can sell that cub! These might go for a fair bit, especially any first gen ones that you may Get from a boost! They will sell for twice as much. Try sex changing your cub before you sell, always make them female.
Selling the actual Jaglion
Could it be more simple? Just by selling the hybrid! Just keep in mind that age, appearance, generation and inbredness all alters the price. But this is the most reliable way!
Selling Frozen Jaglions
Once your lion retires it can be frozen or brought back to life. This will make a lion frozen and no longer interactive. You can sell a lion about to die as a “ready to freeze” or an already frozen lion as “frozen leopon” these lions heritage and dirty/clean do NOT matter. These are used as trophy lions and maybe could even help some sad souls due to no Jaglion boost pass.
Auctioning
Now this is where I’d go if I got a jag, I’d auction it off in forums so the players can fight for whoever offers the most. Meaning you automatically get the best offer. This is quite reliable depending on the demand of jags.
Raffles
Also another good route! If jags are still in a really big demand raffling is a great idea! The cheaper the tickets the more you will sb you will get as people tend to buy in mass! Also would be wise to put some good items as tickets too!
Thank you for the guide also a question
I have a jagboost and bred a G1 today I know they have 10% chance of passing the mutation on would this improve if bred to a Jag boosted male or does the boost overwrite the percentage from the G1
