Jaglion Guide:

JAGLIONS AND OTHER HYBRIDS
A guide to breeding the new hybrids - and the old ones! A guide by The Royal Court (Goat #156487)

~~~
Overview:
The Invasion of Spots is a hype-event released on 6/28/24 to promote the release of Jaglions, Lioden's third hybrid! It provides a quest with a reward of 20 boosted breeding with 1/150 odds (or, 0.6%) for breeding a first gen Jaglion!
-=-=-=-=-=-
Adventuring
The Jaglion hype event Invasion of Spots is based primarily on the Adventuring mechanic! It is similar in nature to the Vredefort Crater event in July, but a lot less of a struggle!
- The ability to take this adventure will be disabled on August 1st 2024 at 00:00am Lioden time. However, if you have started the adventure before this deadline, you can complete it any time! It will not expire.
- The entire adventure can be completed in three rollovers, as stated by Abbey.
- You may only take the quest once per account.
- You may retire your king after you start the adventure, it does not affect anything.
The first step to Adventuring is meeting the requirements to actually take the quest. Your king must be level 5 or higher, and you must pay a fee of 2000sb
Daily Tasks:
Each day, a new task will be given by the adventure in order to acquire the Jaglion boost.
- 1st Day: Take 200 steps in explore. A step occurs every time you click the EXPLORE paw print in Explore! It does not require a specific biome - all biomes work the same. An energy bar averages about 50-80 steps, so it's relatively easy to get done within 3-4 energy bars!
-2nd Day: Take 1000 steps in explore, find 20 tracks, 10 unique scratch marks, 10 unique scent marks, 3 meal leftovers, and 2 odd roaring echos. These are all encounters found in explore, though the odds of each one occurring are not yet known - but it seems to be quite rare. The best methods of finding these encounters are to disable event activity and use hyena butter to reduce lioness claiming encounters. It is projected to take around 50-70 energy bars to complete this task!
- 3rd Day: Find 5 jaguars in explore and 5 in user dens. About the same run down as the previous quest - you just explore your heart out until you find 5 Jaguar encounters. You can use the same method as before: hide event activity, hyena butter, coffee beans, etc. For the user-den encounters, the users do not have to be online in order to find a jaguar in their den!
- 4th Day: Give up 20 Large Rocks, 20 Large Leaves, 20 Underbrush, and 100 uses of food. These can all be found in explore, where food can be found by hunting! Please note: 100 uses of food does NOT mean 100 carcasses - simply food that amounts to 100 uses. Best way to do this aside from rampant hunting is Giraffe Bundles in oasis - 100 uses of food for 2gb! Players also sell both these materials and food, although prices may become scalped as the event carries on. Once this is complete, you'll have the boost! Good luck everyone β™₯️
~~~

The Boost
The part that everyone has been waiting for - the Jaglion breeding boost! Upon completing the adventure, you are granted 20 boosted breedings on your account!
- The breedings only apply to YOUR lionesses. This means you can safely stud to other player's lionesses and reverse breed without using up the boost!
- The boost is the same as the Tigon Boost event - 1/150, or 0.6% per cub. Combining all 20 breedings, you have a 12% chance of birthing a first generation Jaglion. (If using two accounts, it's a 24% chance!)
- HOWEVER IT IS NOT ACCUMULATED! Each Breeding ONLY has a .6% chance to roll a Jaglion!
- The boost does NOT guarantee you a Jaglion after all 20 breedings.
- Mutations items do not affect the boost. Fertility does not affect the boost, however the boost is still better than 1% fertility.
- You are able to view how many boosts you have remaining through a banner at the top of your den page.

-=-=-=-=-=-

Breeding
It is not yet known if breeding with mutated lions affects the Jaglion boost, however it does not affect Jaglions born without the boost. That being said, there are a few recommended ways to breed your Jaglion:
- Use a low generation lady! G1 is preferred, being lionesses you gain from Explore such as NCLs and chased ladies, as this will result in a G2 first generation Jaglion cub.
- Your king does NOT matter! All hybrid cubs have their fathers wiped, so using any stud is perfectly safe.
- The boost affects the first cub only. Do not waste your buffies or gops trying to get more rolls, it will not work!

First Gen Jaglions
Jaglions are entirely unique from other hybrids - they have no special base! That's right, Jaglions are born with any base as a first gen. Have a G1 lioness that's a combo factor? Breed her to a combo stud, you could get a combo based first generation Jaglion!
- First Gen Jaglions come with a set of predetermined traits, these cannot be changed:
- Matte skin, Intense Heat eyes, Scarce mane shape.
- Phantom Rosette in slots 2, 4, or 7.
- The Base and Mane Color entirely based on the two parents.
- First Gen Jaglions are always born with a fertility of 5%.
- Like other hybrids, First Gen Jaglions have a 10% chance to birth a Jaglion cub. Non-first gen Jaglions have a 5% chance to birth a Jaglion.
- First Gen Jaglions are born with 5 in every stat. Non-first gens have 10% less stats they'd receive as normal.

~~~
Mechanics
Here is where things get messy. I will do my best to condense this down as simply as possible! The issue is Jaglions simply work entirely different than Tigons and Leopons, but in a good way!
Phantom Rosette
This marking is special, as unlike other hybrid-origin markings, it appears in 3 random slots! Slot 2, Slot 4, and Slot 7. However, it has a lot of special rules in order to pass.
- Phantom Rosette has a flat 2% rate of passing if the mother is not a Jaglion.
- This increases to 4% if bred to a Jaglion Stud.
- If the lioness is a Jaglion and the RESULTING cub inherited it's mother's base, it passes Phantom Rosette 10% of the time (this does not boost with a Jaglion Stud).
- If your lioness is not a Jaglion but has bred to a Jaglion Stud AND the RESULTING cub inherited it's mother's base, the boost is also 10%.
As an Example: A Jellyfish lioness studs to a male Jaglion. The resulting cub inherits her mother's base, Jellyfish, and has a 10% chance to pass on either of her parent's Phantom Rosette upon birth.
As an Example: A Birch Jaglion studs to a regular male stud. The resulting cub is a Jaglion and inherits her mother's base, birch, has a 10% chance to pass on either of her parent's Phantom Rosette upon birth.
-=-=-=-=-=-
Crunchy Worms?
Due to the First Generation Jaglions inheriting their base colors and mane colors, you can actually crunchy a desired trait onto a First Generation Jaglion!
1. With the Jaglion Boost active, you can crunchy worm a lioness with a specific base and mane color in mind. For this example, we will use a Ra lioness with Cimmerian mane color.
2. Apply a crunchy worm to your Ra lioness. The markings, skin, eyes, and mane shape will not carry over to the First Generation Jaglion, as it is overwritten by the First Generation Jaglions traits.
3. Breed your lioness! No other items are needed - the First Gen roll only applies to the first cub, and if its a one cub litter, it also applies the crunchy to this cub.
4. Get lucky! A crunchy worm works 25% of the time, and you have a 0.6% chance to get a first generation Jaglion. The odds of this happening together is a 77/300 chance, or 0.256%.
Jaglion Studs
As seen above, the perks of having a Jaglion Stud make them beneficial compared to other hybrid studs (but don't worry, we still think they're cool β™₯️.)
- Jaglion Studs with Phantom Rosette actually boost their hybrid-specific marking pass, unlike their Tigon and Leopon counter parts.
- Breeding to a lioness with Phantom Rosette with a Jaglion Stud gives a 4% pass.
- Breeding to a lioness with Phantom Rosette and inheriting her mother's base provides a 10% pass when bred to a Jaglion Stud.
Does using buffies or gmo cows help?
They do not! Buffies/gmos do not chance the jag boost!
The jag boost rolls on the FIRST cub so you won't need extra cub items, and GMO cows would be separate to boost!
Where did you get that information on the crunchy passing? Has this been documented or is it speculation?
Male jags cannot pass their mutation! Just like other hybrids, as it would be too overpowered and mass bred!
This information is in the Jaglion news post, or confirmed by Abbey and Xylax!
As Xylax has liked this post I think we're safe to assume the information is accurate and correct :D
Does it matter what G1 lioness fertility has to be?
It does not matter! It can be any fertility!
The Jaglion boost does not rely on any other factors, it is set at .6 percent chance each breeding within the first 20!
