I made this suggestion a bit ago too. I hate the idea of comment boxes on my dens but I wouldn't mind seeing others'.

I support, I feel like it might be unfair if someone gets a comment & tries to respond back to you but finds your comment box to be closed- so they'd have to switch to messaging if open or respond in their own box or just.. not... respond... which might cause stress, too, but I understand feeling left out by being forced to decide whether the feature stays on or off with no middle option.
As a balance I keep my frozen Main's off, so I don't have to monitor/respond over there because I do like to do so when active, and since this also helps route communication towards where I can actually respond- but I keep my active side on to allow interaction and another way to reach out that's not linked to stressy for some or too "offical" feeling Game Notifications.

Even if their intention was to force nosey-folks who want to read but not get pinged or players who want to say but not receive or even folks whose css doesn't accommodate the box nicely and who don't want it there to choose a lane (otherwise I think most would have turned off their own den boxes and forgotten about their existence immediately xD) I see no reason we can't pick a middle lane.
