This is probably weird because I’m literally posting this on lioden of all things, but what do you all think about tattoos? I’m thinking on getting some for the very first time, and I have been doing my research. Im super excited but I still feel weird about it. Anyways the point of this post is to be chill and maybe share tattoo experiences or general advice? As I stated before I am doing my own research and am not getting advice from lioden. I just feel like I need to be extra prepared or something haha. Whether anyone replies here or not have a great day/night! 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I have a few tattoos and I'm hoping to get another sometime soon. I really enjoy having art on my body, and I enjoy seeing it on other people too. That's great you are doing your research ahead of time. What are you thinking you might want to get for your first tattoo? 0 players like this post! Like? |

That’s awesome! If you don’t mind me asking what kind of tattoos do you have and what new one are you thinking of getting! I would really like a tattoo similar to this picture here: Though in the artist’s own style/thinking and with a couple of tweaks I have in mind! I also want to get another tattoo which is a moon similar to this: I was thinking of getting both at or around the same time if possible just to make it easier. I like the size of both of them already, if anything I may make the wolf tattoo slightly smaller. I hope what I’m saying makes sense! :))) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Happy to share :) My first tattoos were pretty simple and they included a semi-colon (for mental health awareness) and a 3-d box with the word "Think" under it to mean "Think outside the box". Both of those are in black ink on my wrist and ankle. Later on I got my current biggest tattoo which is a full color octopus on my foot/ankle/calf. I do slightly regret the placement of that one because the bottom part has faded quickly (hand and feet tattoos just fade quicker). Then I a have a silly tattoo of a ghost taking a sponge bath. For my next tattoo I want the silhouette of my cat's perked ears and her eyes when she looks around the corner and then I want it to lead into a lace-type design that runs down my arm and has some hidden symbols within the lace. Your tattoo ideas look awesome! Both of those will take a few hours though so if I were you I'd bring a friend and/or something to help keep you distracted when you go. I don't consider tattoos to be super painful but any discomfort that goes on for a long period of time can eventually get to you, so just come prepared so you aren't thinking about it the whole time. A first tattoo is very exciting! I hope you have a great experience. When you find a tattoo artist that you want to work with they'll be able to give more advice and answer any questions you have at a professional level. <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

I got nosey and wanted to see if there was any tattoo talk going on here and I found this thread! Sorry it's kinda old!! My biggest advice is to make sure you do your research on an artist and make sure to view their healed work! Artists sharing healed work will allow you to make sure their work holds up over time (very little blowout, minimal fading, etc.) and shows you that they they have clients that happily return to see them!!! While I have no tattoo regret there are certainly a few tattoos that I wish I had used different placement for (which would have made my sleeve a bit better flowing)! Tattoos are so addicting and while they can be painful they certainly weren't nearly as bad as I was expecting (except my thigh!! that hurt so much i thought i was going to have to tap out/end the session early). Communication is so so so important, never ever be afraid to say you don't like a design or placement (and if an artist is combative that is 1000% a reason to get up and leave). I have seen too many horror stories of people being intimidated into getting tattoos they do not like!!! -- In my experience (through friends) cheaper usually isn't the way to go!! Tattoos can be expensive and while it can kind of hinder/delay plans paying more money to someone who is consistent in quality is far more beneficial! >> drop box of my tattoos if you'd like to see! << All of my arm was done by @babybishtattoos on IG (i love her with all my heart and she'll get to do my other arm as well) while my leg was done by @sanyyyo on IG (i also adore her and hope to see her some more next year) 0 players like this post! I had my first tattoo done last year. I decided to go for an area where it wouldn’t hurt as much. Something literally no one warned me about was how much it tickled. It’s so difficult not to move. Feel free to bring a book or something that will help you take your mind off of it. Most artist don’t mind. So do not be afraid to tell the artist about any changes or concern you have about the art. If you have anxiety (like me.) bring 1 person who doesn’t. (I took my sis and I told her what I wanted and expected before we went and she talked for me.) any good tattoo artist wants you to be happy with the art. Not regrettable. Another thing. I got mine somewhere I wouldn’t have to see it unless I wanted to. (In case I decided I didn’t like it.) I regret that decision. I wish I would have had it done on my thigh instead of the back of my leg so I didn’t have to twist myself to see it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I know I haven’t been active in the replies, but I wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice! All of this information is very helpful, and I feel like I have some more direction now. All the tattoos I have seen from you guys all look awesome!!! I hope mine ends up coming out just as good. I’ll have to post here when I end up getting it. Again thank you! 0 players like this post!
