𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
Legendary lions of the past are considered gods among the Lore Keepers. These spirits of the Savannah are revered, and their bloodlines are traced back to our modern-day lions. Who were these legendary lions of the past? That is for you to decide!

It is up to you, Lore Keepers, to create these god-like lions. Choose a previous or existing lion within your pride, or create one in the lion wardrobe to become one of the fabled ancients. The requirements for this objective are relatively straightforward! This is your chance to let your creativity shine. How did this lion shape the destiny of their pride? What legends are whispered about them to this day?

𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬

1.) Choose or Create Your Ancestor Lion

- Select a previous or existing lion in your pride that you feel is worthy of becoming one of the legendary ancients.
- Alternatively, you can use Lioden’s lion wardrobe to design a lion that embodies the power and mystique of the ancients.
- Be sure to share a link or photo of your lion so that other members can see the ancient creature you’ve chosen. (Send a message my way if you need help with this!)

2.) Write the Story of Their Legendary Feats

- Craft a 100-word (minimum) paragraph detailing the incredible achievements of your ancestor lion. You are welcome to write as much as you please! What made them so special or god-like in the eyes of their pride?
- Did they have unique markings, abilities, or characteristics that set them apart from others?
- Were they a fearless protector, leading their pride through great battles or difficult times?
- Perhaps they were a tyrant, feared across the Savannah for their ruthless power.

The submissions sent here will be featured in the upcoming weekly clan updates next month! Each week, a new ancient will be introduced to the clan, randomly chosen via a random number generator.

When we get a decent amount of members, we will have actual contests with more valuable prizes. Of course, when I have obtained the funds necessary to do so! :)

( The link to the lion this story is about is here -> https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?mid=486951 )

Icepick was one of the first lions born from the stars. He was known as Icepick because of the constatation that he was formed from. Icepick used to be so happy as a young constatation, playing along with the new stars and nebula. But one stormy night, the entirety of what he knew as life came crashing down.

There was a celestial storm, separating his constatation from his galaxy. After billions of years drifting accost the universe, his constatation ended up finding it was into the sky of this new planet in the Milkyway. Earth.

Icepick often thought about becoming one of the creatures on earth, being born as a mortal and possibly being able to feel the happiness of being with a family again.

One night, his thoughts became too strong. He wished upon the muliverse that he would become one of them. Reborn as a lion.

You might think he yould like to be a lion was because they were a fierce and strong animal with the bravery of ten men. The most prominent reason he wanted to be a lion was because he could be a part of a family again. And even if it was going to be a small one, he would still be happy.

A couple millenia later, Icepick felt himself starting to fade. He knew he was going to die out soon, his constatation disappearing from existence. He waited, hoping his wish yould come true. And once his time came, it went to black.

Icepick felt himself in a warm place, a scratchy tongue cleaning him. He felt his old memories fading, along with the knowledge of his past life.

After a couple days, he opened his eyes, seeing his mother's face. Her eyes were a gorgeous mix of purple, pink, and blue. Her eyes looked like galaxy's.

Years later, Icepick was full grown. His galaxy-colored body, massive stature, and fear inducing claws and fangs defending and leading a pack of his own. Keeping it safe as he slays any creature that even looks at him or his pride members funny.

But his protectiveness led to him and his packs undoing. He drove away their rivals along with their prey. His pack left him to starve, splitting up and searching for new packs. He went out on his own as well. And one night, he cursed into the stars, the place that was once his home. And he cursed to the whole world that if he were to ever to die alone, he would take the stars, galaxy, and the entire universe down with him.

Years later, he now leads a pride he stole from a king he thought was unfit. He leads with cruelty and unforgiveness. He is now known as one of the most ruthless kings in the continent.

(Hope you liked it! )

The Maven of Storms
࿓ ࿓ ࿓ ࿓ ࿓ ࿓ ࿓ ࿓

Birdie didn’t know where she came from, nor where she was going. For many years she wandered the plains in search of something she had no recollection of. She found she didn’t want pride life, and instead secluded herself deep within the rainforest, speaking only with the birds and whatever small creatures would approach her.

Birdie grew comfortable in her reclusive surroundings, eventually finding enjoyment in crafting small trinkets out of feathers, grass, beetles, and whatever else she could find in the forest, but soon, the grass grew too dry to bend. No flowers grew and the ground became dry and chalky. Birdie had witnessed dozens of dry seasons, but nothing like this..

As she exited the forest for the first time in years, she was met with a barren wasteland. She saw creatures collapsing from the heat right in front of her eyes. She couldn’t in good mind stay hidden, but what could she do? In terror, she bolted back into the rainforest, back to the sanctity of her den. Birdie sat in silence, sewing together a pair of wings out of old feathers.

Drip.

What about those prides? How are they going to survive without water?

Drip.

What about newborn cubs? They surely can’t handle this heat!

Drip.

There’s hardly going to be enough water for the herds!

Drip.

Drip..?

Birdie looked up to the roof of the cave, and noticed a small fissure in the rocks. Leaking..water! She rushed to the back of her cave and dug out a large bag made of cow hide and pawed it under the drip. Surely, if there’s water coming through.. there must be more out there! Birdie dashed out of her cave and scaled the outside of her den. She located a thick layer of moss and clawed it off the rocks before running back to her cave. Drip by drip, she squeezed the water out of the moss..

It took at least a week for the bag to fill up, but once it did she threw it over her shoulder and headed out to find a pride in need. The bag was heavy, but it got easier to carry with each step. Day by day, she’d deliver large bags of water to thirsty prides.

Rumors started to spread about the winged lioness delivering water to those in need during dry seasons. Some said she flew up to the clouds and caused them to rain, others say she commanded a storm with a single roar, but however she did it, many were grateful.

The dry season came and went, and while Birdie returned to her seclusion, stories of her kindness spread through the lands and passed down through generations.

pestilence
the names of lions that roamed in these lands long before are all but forgotten, though the remaining traces of their visage is still felt- and some are even more clearly seen. on rainy days and blotted skies, they say you could hear the murmuring of a bloodied gurgle; choking up the lungs with pneumonia and the smell of rot.

it is on these days that the lions and lionesses would invoke in a name. a specific name that they deemed fit for a ghost, or plague-bringer. so they called her "the lady", the bringer of pestilence.

nobody knew what the skin starved ghost wanted: merely that the lady came and went as she pleased, holding a small bouquet of red - stitched into her mouth. but there are rumours - rumours that spill storied truth into the veins of those who wish to know the origin of the rotting lands.

and these truths all come back to the lady: some regarded her as the harbinger of the rot directly, coming down from the beyond to cleave into the roots of the land, and others thought of her a victim, merely the first to succumb to the sickness that consumed it all.

but no matter the teller of the story, pestilence was always there.

for you could not go a story without her name.

sun-eater
if pestilence was the one that brought the lands to ruin, then the sun-eater was the one who finished the curse.

he who blotted out the skies, in the thick of clouds and anger - searching for something that was never found.

those who were alive in the early days of the age bore witness to his screaming rage; unknowing if his cause was injustice or some other form of petty vengeance.

and they would pass on the saying, a prayer, of forms:

"O' you, who unleash your terrible vengeance,
may your ire not befall on the innocent
for these lands has already born your scars."

this was fun to do! hopefully these fulfilled the prompts well enough ^^

"The Prophet" is an ancient lion, her age not fully known, though it's a common legend amongst the lions that she has lived more than a hundred thousand moon cycles. Little does the modern lion know that she began as young Liola.

As a young lioness, Liola discovered her ability of foresight during one of the hotter months, the hottest she and her pride had ever experienced. Liola, seeing a vision of the wildebeest herds thundering through the savannah, chased by a relentless, neverending wildfire, warned her pride of the upcoming danger and advised they move East, away from the wildfire's path. Her pride only laughed, not believing her story, as there was no smoke in the air, and chose to ignore her warnings.

Soon after, not even a week later, the pride was awoken one night to smoke clouding their dens, filling their lungs, and blinding them. They scrambled awake, desperate to escape the haze, and emerged from their dens to see fire. It raged around them, crackling and snapping and roaring as it began to eat everything they had built.

It seemed the fire would consume them, until a path ahead cleared and there stood Liola. She called for them to follow her, to trust that she knew the way out, and so they did. She led them through the wicked, jumping flames, through a path only she appeared to see. Guided by her visions, Liola led her pride free from the rage of the wildfire and to the safety across the Eastern waters.

While this was the first of her prophecies, it was not the last, and it soon became apparent that Liola was gifted by the goddess above with visions and a longevity to aid the prides that have come after.
