To preface, this is 100% for fun! I don’t expect this to be put into the game or even have any supports, but I just wanted to share this idea!

Haunted could be a mutation that occurs a few ways

I know these first two would not/could not be viable due to cubs being rolled at breeding, I am just keeping them on here

1. 2 or more lions dying/being retired in your pride while the mother is pregnant. lions that are killed do not count, they must die naturally from old age! (Or, if you have lethals in your pride, from them dying) [a King being retired and sent to dynasty would also count]

2. A very rare chance of it occurring through a pregnant lioness playing with the “Guilt Trip” item.

3. The mother having both parents and grandpawrents being deceased AND stored in a dynasty

4. The mother losing 4 or more previous cubs from cub accidents/not being protected before her next breeding

Some flavor texts could include

[Birth] : CUB, instead of suckling, was loudly meowing and hissing at something you can’t see. You’ve never seen something so tiny so angry! You nudge CUB over to their mother and they reluctantly snuggle up against her, but don’t take their bulging eyes off the “creature” in the distance..

[1 Month]: CUB continues to angrily hiss at invisible things, and when they’re not doing that, they’re anxiously glancing over their shoulder as they learn to walk.

[2 Months]: While listening to a story told by an older pride member, CUB interrupts and says they have a better story! They proceed to tell a terrifying tale that makes even your fur stand up. The other cubs begin to cry. Great. You don’t need sleep anyway!

[3 Months]: CUB’s mother seems to be avoiding them, they confide in you that CUB has been acting incredibly strange lately and recalling tales she wasn’t even born to witness.. maybe she overheard them?

[4 Months]: You mention something in passing about a pride member, to which CUB responds to by talking about a hunt they went on with them once..Well that’s not right..?

Would love some more ideas for these!

This mutation is lethal, and the cub would pass at 1yr-1yr 6m


[DAY BEFORE DEATH]
CUB had been found wandering in circles, murmuring something you can’t understand. You watch as the grass wears down beneath their feet before you yawn and head off to bed.

[DEATH]

Some lionesses come up to you and tell you they found CUB next morning laying in the circle of grass, eyes glassy and wide open. Wisps of smokey white air leave their mouth, but there’s no soul behind them.



I would love some suggestions or ideas for this!
