Hello all I have decided to cave and do an art contest!
There are absolutely no rules, however I do please ask that for any sensitive topics, it is sent either as a DM or posted with a trigger warning ^^
— Note: they do not have to be perfectly accurate! Draw what you want and take liberty with it! Give them long hair, short hair, redesigns for all I mind!
THE WINNERS.
In fifth place , we have Eudoria.a #211345 . Their absolutely lovely piece of Andi in both forms immediately stole my heart; I’d especially like to point out the expressions and the way the hair was done!
In fourth place , we have VOID GEAR #221674 . Their piece for Svea perfectly captured her and her personality; truly, she radiates the essence of the sun and she is just stunning. I love the idea of a sun on her forehead; I’ll be incorporating that into her permanent design for sure!
In third place , we have Howy #218313 . Howy, I genuinely can’t believe that you rushed this. It is so absolutely stunning and quite literally took my breath away for a moment. The paws, the little smile—every last bit of it is perfect. The glow, the warmth, and I especially loved the way you rendered the chest fluff!
In second place , we have MortalasCurse #310563 . Their divine artwork of Svea was absolutely stunning. Words cannot even begin to describe how much I adore this piece. Normally, I’m not a fan of anthro at all, but this piece alone may have changed my judgement. It was a strong toss up between this one and the other for first place.
And finally, in first place , we have 𝓈𝑒𝓇𝒶 ♱ #260282 . Almost every single person I asked, out of a large family of 20+ (thanksgiving gets busy!) had their personal favourite but also pointed out this one. At least five agreed that this one should be first place, and I can’t agree more. The detail, the expression—especially the eyes, my goodness—and the sword, being almost driven into herself yet wielded by her was absolutely stunning. The amount of effort visibly put into the wisteria as well, I can’t imagine how long that took. The colours, the pose… all of it together resulted in the decision that this piece absolutely deserved first place.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS / FAMILY FAVOURITES
*Please note these are NOT in order of preference, but rather in random order.
#374610.
This one was my little sister’s favourite! I love how it’s so vague yet not at the same time, and the colours are beautiful!
#494523.
This piece really just caught onto me and didn’t let go; I love the expression and pure joy on it. You should really consider illustrating a children’s book. My brother liked this one best!
#312804.
This was almost a top five for me; I absolutely love it. It reminds me of Pleistocene art in the best way possible, and the pose is lovely! I adore the grumpy expression as well.
#9038.
He’s. So. Crabby. And I cannot get over the silly joy that seeing him look so cranky brings me. It’s a gorgeous piece, and I really, really like the one tail shown through the legs! Adds a bit of extra fluff. This was my parents’ favourite!
#393025.
This one was gorgeous, and again, almost a top five! My grandmother especially liked these piece, having it in her top two. The lighting is phenomenal, and I love how the fur almost looks feathery? It’s beautiful.
#129351.
This one just screams Svea to me. I can tell that’s her instantly, and she is serving as always. The colours, the relaxed yet still on guard posture creates an elegance to it, and I really love the way that the fur is rendered. My grandpa too adored it.
#264940.
No matter how many times I went back, this animation just called to me with how cute and joyous it was! I love the different expressions so, so much, and every different freeze frame called out to me. The little ear tufts were adorable!
#485315.
There’s just something special about this one, and it was again popular with the family, voted in by the uncles. The two different poses, so lovely and relaxed and natural. You could tell me you sketched off of a real cat and I wouldn’t doubt it for a second; she looks genuinely alive in this one.
#211661.
This was my mother’s other favourite piece! Considering that you had no reference to go off of, the fact that Svea was captured so well just caught my attention and never let go. The little details, the shading—I really liked the background ornament as well! And the pose is so amazing, she looks like she’s about to give me a lecture!
#270326.
This piece was very popular with my cousins and again was almost a top five. The background was absolutely stunning, and Kitchi himself was beautifully done. I love the little smile, like things are starting to look up for him. The shading was so pretty; you did incredible.

https://postimg.cc/BjpL46j3 — Bird (the lioness) and Sand (the coyote)
https://postimg.cc/zLfLBrhg — Bee.
[NO ART] Svea, who is a blonde tiger described to look like the sun incarnate. Gold eyes, yellow whiskers. Extremely large, about polar bear sized.
— in human form: 8’3, with long, gold blonde hair and tan skin. Amber-brown eyes that appear gold in sunlight. Always wears black gloves.
Written Descriptions for Characters:
Andi: 6’9. Sepia-toned skin with ivory hair and green eyes (slight filter over eyes as she is blind). Elf ears and faint tiger stripes on body.
— tiger form: standard tiger, about black bear size.
Apollo: 7’7. Slightly darker skin than Andi, with ebony hair and grey-brown eyes. Short elf ears.
Kitchi: nine-tailed fox, with black tail and ear tips.
Briarthorn: dilute calico Maine Coon with green eyes, scar running vertically across face and over the eyes. Accessorises occasionally but not always.
Bird: lioness with Shaggy mane mutation as the best example. Very large. Notably old, and is greying.
Sand: wolf-sized coyote. Grey muzzle; as old as Bird.
Bee: a black wolf with dun splotches randomly placed on his body. Face is split half dun, half black. Black side has one gold eye, other has one silver. In human form, a dark-skinned child with vitiligo and heterochromia.
Descriptions / Personalities:
Andi: uses a lot of formal language, would absolutely annihilate you in a verbal fight. Loves riddles and puzzles, and only likes to speak in them. Is a priestess of the God of Plague and Nightmares. Often seems haunted by something unseen. Quarter elf, quarter osprey fae, half shapeshifter (tiger).
Apollo: Andi’s older twin brother with a soft spot for cats. Has BPD, and as they live in the year 1397 A.D., tends to have trouble getting people to understand him so his closest friend is his sister. His animal form is a weird dog-cat-elk thing. Also a quarter elf / fae.
Bee: Half wolf shapeshifter, half human. Has chimaerism. Is a sweet little baby who understands little; he’s about 6 years old. Possibly the cause of all mischief ever.
Sand: OLD. Very old. He’s your grandpa who tells horrible jokes and laughs for hours about them. Loves to tell stories. Also, T4T with his wife.
Bird: wife <3 even older than Sand; about 95. She’s the designated therapist who is always there for emotional support. Would make cookies, but she’d probably start a fire.
Kitchi: a stereotypical kitsune. Cunning and smart, dangerous to mess around with, but also has a soft spot for his mother and girlfriend. Definitely depressed (emo fox)
NO ART:
Svea: Kitchi’s mother and the queen of the shapeshifters. Plagued with constant nightmares and the stress of leading a dying kingdom. Extremely well-respected across the realm.

5. Are all styles allowed (traditional, digital, etc)? What about animations?

1. Yes, I don’t see why not! However, in terms of participation prizes, I will max it out to 1 per person.
2. I personally have no preference! I love them all :3
3. Yes, this contest will go ahead no matter what!
4. I’m judging based off of both personal preference and skill. Depending on how difficult that proves to be, I may double the prizes and have a category for each.
5. Yes, absolutely! I love to see what people can make with their chosen medium! And animations are incredible!
6. The “whatever X place doesn’t choose” rewards come from the highest spot! So if, say, first place doesn’t choose the five BF MoDs, and neither does second place, then third place could choose that :)
Congratulations to everyone who joined! It was awesome to hear the whole family joined in on the panel :D
Everyone has such a wonderful style, and it was super cool to see how everyone in your family appreciated a particular piece
