Howdy Lioden Players!

Frost and I have started our own RP Server on Discord. If you know of Rulers and Tyrants RP, that's me! It will have some similar themes (gore, body horror, mistreatment, etc) but it is a different story premise than RaT.

There are two prides so far in this RP, the Peak Pride and the Mending Pride. Below are their premises;

Peak Pride
Along the Serengeti lies a conglomerate of Inselbergs mountains that all converge at one peak. Inside this hollow mountain sits “the beast” or the “Malaika Mweupe” meaning White Angel. Nobody aside from the leader has ever seen or is permitted to see the White Angel. At the front of this hollow mountain, in a tusk-shaped crater is where Peak clan resides.

Referred to as “Mountain Faith”, Peak clans Leader, Lone- Founded and currently leads the pride. As he says, he was cast out from his home for being a half-breed and was on the run for many days before he and his mother were chased to a mountain peak by Hyenas. The Hyenas killed his mother and would have killed him if it weren’t for the beast of the mountain saving him and then sparing him. Lone also claims that the beast guided him to a putrid pride full of discourse which was being run under the guidance of a wicked leader. He rallied the beaten-down pride members, overthrew the leader and established Peak clan, a pride dedicated to the beast of the mountain. Lone has described the beast as white like Ivory, with long cracked tusks. Its pelt is covered in scars of all kinds. Lone claims that the beast had risen from the dead to protect him, and is now in great pain and suffering due to his body rotting. And so to make him whole, Peak clan sacrifices elders or other lions every five months to help try and heal the beast of the mountain so the clan may repay him for blessing them with his protection.

Mending Pride
An old pride, no one is quite certain on how or when it was created. It is known colloquially as the "pride of broken lions" or the "maimed pride". The pride is located in the bog lands of the island. The ground here is almost always marshy and damp, water seeping up from the grass with every step. Only the caves are kept dry.

The pride gained their name, and nicknames, through their ritualistic maiming of each other for their roles in the pride. Some roles require that the lion(ess) loses a body part. Others, all their fur or mane is sheared off. And a few only have to heat horrendous meats to lose their fertility. It is a harsh existence, but they try to treat each other with respect and kindness. Despite their gruesome practices, most of the pride are content living where they are and view their maiming as something to be proud of.

The pride also worships four gods and two prophets- the Knower, the Seer, the Listener, and the Liar are the gods. Hazy Vision, a primal lion who was the first to die, and Achlys, a ruthless and tyrannical male tigon, are their prophets.

Prompt 1: With the wind at your back, and sand in your eyes- you find yourself desperate for water and refuge from the harsh elements. You can scent a pride only a few miles way. Though you know you’ll need to convince them to let you enter. How will your character do so?

Prompt 2: Your character enters a dark and foreboding place. There are only dapples of sunlight and the sound of dripping water to fill their senses. Please describe the place and the actions your character will take.
