This contest will begin 10/12/24 and end on 11/1/24. MAC's Hands-On Pumpkin Contest Welcome!Welcome to MAC's Third Annual Pumpkin Contest! This is a contest involving real, live pumpkins. You can carve or paint your pumpkin, use markers on it, turn it into a 3D diorama, or more if you can think of it! If you do not have access to live pumpkins, or styrofoam craft carving pumpkins, you may carve a different fruit or vegetable. Please reach out to an admin for recommendations! If none of these things are available to you, unfortunately this contest is not for you.  Details1. This contest is being hosted by the Mutie Adoption Center Clan. You must be an MAC member for your entry to be considered. 2. You can make a traditional jack-o-lantern face, or something more creative if you wish. 3. You are allowed to use stencils/templates, or free-hand. 4. You may submit up to 3 entries. 5. Post a photo or link to your finished pumpkin on this thread by 11/1/24. Please include a paper with your username on it in the picture someplace so we know your pumpkin is really yours. :) Prizes1st: Choice of 25  or a GMO Cow, + one item from the clan hoard2nd: Whichever prize 1st place did not choose 3rd: 10

Hi Sam! They're likely also seasonal but there are hollow Styrofoam pumpkins meant for permanent carving, you can usually get them at craft stores! These can be carved or painted just like a real pumpkin. If these are out of season where you live, other produce can also be carved. I've never carved any other fruits or veggies myself, but from what I've read, these can all be carved too: melons, bell peppers, pineapples, squash. Melons can be emptied out like pumpkins and are similar in size, so they're probably the best direct alternative. Pineapples are naturally bright yellow inside, offering the illusion of a lit candle. Bell peppers only have some easy-to-remove seeds inside, so you could likely carve these the quickest. I hope this helps and that we get to see an entry from you this year! 0 players like this post!
