Old pridemates getting sick, newborn cubs who were simply too weak to survive, even her beloved mother eventually fell ill. And each time, despite trying her hardest, Ismay had to say her farewells, no matter how adept at healing she was, no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t save them all. “No matter what, I’ll save you I swear!” “Please stay with me! I can’t lose you too…” Ismay hit her breaking point when her beloved fell ill, desperate to save her mate she made a dangerous and foolish decision. She sought out an ancient demon of healing and struck a deal. “I wish to reverse the effects of all diseases, I wish to be able to save any life.” Ismay spoke to the demon, who raised her a question “Even at the cost of your own life? Is your life not just as worth saving?” Ismay, without even stopping to think answered. “Saving people gives my life meaning. If I can’t save them, what meaning does my life have?” The demon sighed, she had heard this answer time and time again. “Very well, I’ll share with you a special tonic recipe, but be warned, the main ingredient is your own life essence, in saving others you’ll cut your life short.” Ismay nodded, determined to save her lover no matter what the cost was. “I agree, I’ll do anything to see him health Her resolve did not waver, for her love for him was more powerful.
