(copied + pasted from my comment on the news post) I'm seeing a LOT of entries in the new game where it's obvious people didn't even try to make a real design or stick to the stated theme. I suspect people are just entering a bare-minimum "design" just to farm the 1 point you get for entering each hourly contest. Is there a way the game can be adjusted to discourage these kinds of entries? For example, an option to mark as "not on theme" and if X number of people report a given design as "not on theme" the person who submitted the bad-faith entry is suspended from entering again for Y amount of time (maybe until next rollover or something like that). |

I've seen just the blank lion in the wardrobe as an entry its so bad that they didn't think people would do this, kinda sad people are 2 players like this post! Like? |

I'm not sure a suspension is necessary, but merely removing the reward from that round would likely be a sufficient deterrent. After all, if they're only submitting a blank lion for the guaranteed glam garnet, they would likely put forth effort on their own next time if the blank lion strategy no longer ensures a reward. When there's such a tiny chance of winning more than one garnet unless your design is better than ~400 other players' designs, it does feel like a waste of time to try making anything spectacular. I do agree that it's really disappointing to see those entries, though. It's just more work for everyone else to vote around, and not very fun. 4 players like this post! Like? |

I agree. I don't mind losing, even if I worked hard - I'm just annoyed that my losing design with effort is only worth as much as a losing design WITHOUT effort, lol. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I agree with sunrise^ just taking away the reward would be a better alternative to suspension 0 players like this post! Like? |

Another problem I would like to point out is that the themes feels too vague & aren't placed visible enough. This has resulted me (& apperently others too) to make a wrong theme accidentally & in other hands ppl seem annoyed thay not everyone follows the theme Also yeah just removing the price would be better than full on temporary suspension but idk that's probably not necessary at all since this is just for fun, since this doesn't highly bother me I'm not supporting but not against either (Edits for wording) (Wish I could delete this comment lmao since I moved this to the news post) 0 players like this post! No support - what seems off for you might look exactly on-theme for the person who submitted it. Its all very personal and I think punishing someone's view on how to decor a lion is wrong - even if its the majority's opinion, the user is still entitled to like their own entry. Think of it this way. The users not putting effort in, do it only for the minimum win. They wont have a chance to place high. You place effort to increase your chances to place high and have bigger chances to win a bigger prize than that. So you put extra effort, for extra chance of higher reward - the users putting less effort do not have such chance of higher reward. So you're at a benefit if you put effort in. Other people's simplier entries do not devalue that. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 14/12/24 @ 06:24:34 by Mad Hyena (#29080) |

MadHyena - I think subjectivism has its limits. However, in that case - another potential solution would be adjusting the Glam Garnet "economy" by making the rewards proportional to the design's final placement. For example: Placing in the 1-20% gets 1 glam garnet 21-40% gets 2 41-60% gets 3 61-80% gets 4 81+ gets 5 plus bonuses for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. This would generally reward high-effort designs more than low-effort designs or those who appear odd-theme (to the voters, at least, who are the ones you're supposed to appeal to with your entry). This would, of course, require tweaking shop prices as well, but I don't see that as a bad thing. 3 players like this post! Like? |

I support adjusting the winning prizes to motivate people to put better effort in their entries, but still, I think punishing entries for not "qualifying" is a bit harsh. In the end, 1 GG is a very small amount, you're still paying 3 SB for entry and it would take days to save up for something bigger so I dont enjoy there being a chance of not getting anything at all, if some other users didnt like your entry. 0 players like this post! I kind of feel like there needs to be separate games, 1 for decor theme and 1 for base/markings. You can make a gorgeous lion with a good base and nice markings but at the end of the day if it doesn't have say wings or butterfly decor and the theme is butterflies all of that effort is sort of wasted. We have some real wardrobe gurus in this game when it comes to bases and markings and I honestly want to see more of that, especially since user RL submissions aren't a thing anymore. 3 players like this post!
