Community Update

Aside from monthly event news posts and the 2nd Friday of each month being focused on art/coding updates, all other Fridays are centered around the community!

We're just mere days away from the end of 2024. It feels like the years just keep speeding on by! In the spirit of closing out the year with good feelings and warm vibes, we're sharing the love and appreciation with all of you who have chosen to spend time on Lioden. To all players, whether you're from the alpha testing period or you're newly registered, we're grateful to all of you for your unending support, and we'd love to have you with us for many more years to come. From our team to your homes, we wish you all a safe, cosy, and relaxing holiday while we usher in the new year.

Contests!

What better way to spread cheer and good feelings than hosting some fun contests with GB prizes? It's been a while since our last few contests, so we're going all out for these!

All contests will last from December 27th 2024 to January 9th 2025, ending at 11:59pm
LDT! The voting period for the "Front Page Designs" contest will begin on January 10th 2025 and last until January 16th 2025. All other contests will be judged by our admin team. Winners for all contests will be announced on January 17th 2025, and they will receive their prizes then.

Front Page Designs

We last refreshed Lioden's front page in September 2022. We loved the designs that were previously submitted, but feel that it's time to add even more diverse images to the images that cycle through our front page each month!

Details
* There are 12 front page design contests in total—one for each monthly event on Lioden.
* Each account can enter once per contest.
* Your entries must be themed around specific events (e.g. only submit January-themed arrangements for the January contest, etc.).
* To enter, you must copy the full, long wardrobe URL and paste it into the "Submit Entry" field. Entries cannot be modified once they have been submitted, so please double-check what you have before entering!
* Your entry does not need to have a lion present. You can choose to decorate a lion and theme all decors and backgrounds to an event, or you can go a more scenic route and set up a lovely background view with accenting decors!
* For contests themed to specific monthly events, you can use any background and decor for your design, it does not need to be limited to items from that month's event.
* Everyone can vote for whichever entries they like best! Each player can vote 5 times per contest, 1 vote per entry (so you cannot put all 5 votes into one entry), and you will get a bonus 5 SB per vote for participating.
* Votes cannot be incentivised. Do not ask for other players to vote for your entries, your friends' entries, etc. anywhere on Lioden. This includes in the chat room, on the forums, or in various other areas of the site. Incentivising votes can lead to actions being taken against accounts—we really want this to be fair and for players to genuinely vote for whichever entries they like best!
* If your design is chosen, it will be added to a pool of randomised images that will be shown on Lioden's front page when that specific event is occurring on Lioden!

There will be 120 winners in total—10 winners per monthly event, and each winner will get a prize of 10 GB!

Writing Contest

Fan Art Contest

Create some amazing fan art of anything Lioden-related! It can be a digital drawing, a sculpture, a traditional drawing, a 3D print, a story, etc. of your favourite Lioden NPC or one of your own lions! All art must follow our Tree Carving Rules. This means no eyeballed, stolen, or traced artwork, no NSFW content, and no AI-generated content. Any entries that break our Tree Carving Rules will be disqualified.

Art Bug Fixes

* Dim Spice is now uploaded for Spirited
* Leg Banding and Tail Banding Algae, Clay, Copal, Coral, Gold, Marigold, and Lilac are now uploaded for Spirited
* Mottled Rosette, Mottled Stripes, and Phantom Rosette are now uploaded for Spirited
* Shaded Noctis is now uploaded for Spirited
* Fixed all Clay markings on Spirited - they now properly match the Clay colour

Coding Bug Fixes

* ETI Manes (male and female) should now display properly.
* ETI The maximum number of decors in ETI now matches the maximum allowed in the Wardrobe (25).
* ETI Markings on slots 11-20 now properly display on ETI entries.
* ETI The following decors are now supported in ETI entries:

• Chameleon Skin
• Translucent Jellyfish
• Lab Test Frog
• Age-Modifying Decors:
  • Eye of the Fierce Roar
  • Eye of the Youth
  • Eye of the Kitten
  • Tigers Eye

* ETI Poses should now display properly.
* ETI In Progress Posed mutations that affect the lineart (Eyeless, Clawless, etc.) will be fixed soon.
* Wardrobe Changing the opacity of a marking will now correctly update the lion code immediately, without having to make another unrelated change first.
* The Wallowing Pit was giving out a Custom Decor instead of a Background; the pit has been scrubbed of all copies of the Custom Decor and had them replaced with fresh copies of the expected Background (Wallowing Elephants). Any copies of the decor that were in inventories have also been strategically replaced with Wallowing Elephants.

Two Raffle Lionesses?!

Congrats to the winner of last week's raffle lioness!
A new winter-themed Gleam FIRST GENERATION JAGLION lady with Phase eyes, Bandit Unders, Feline 8 Lilac, and a chilly Reindeer Chariot background is up for impressing in the Special Lioness area linked here!

But wait... that's not all! In addition to hosting four official raffles, we're continuing our annual tradition by raffling off a SECOND raffle lioness today!

Enter Official Raffle #5 for a chance to win a Pecora lady with Bushveld Quail Flecks, Seal Rogue, and the eighth Lopé National Park background!

The cost to enter is the same as trying to impress any other special lioness (50 SB), and tickets are limited to one per account. The only difference is that you do not need to be a Dreamboat to have a chance at impressing this Pecora lady!

This raffle will automatically end on 2025-01-03 at 00:00:00. When it ends, she will be de-aged to 2 years and will be automatically in heat when she is sent to her winner! As an additional gift, the recipient will be manually awarded the achievement for impressing a raffle lioness.

We hope that the multitude of raffles this week (including a second raffle lioness) is a welcome surprise to close out the end of 2024 and introduce the new year of 2025!
