I've been getting a bit more into Beetle collecting on Lioden recently (especially since I've decided to include them in some of my oc/lion's hobbies!) and I've been obsessed with Isopods irl recently, so I thought I'd recommend some of the cutest little guys ever!

Isopods (Isopoda) are a world-wide neighbor with many MANY common names, some here in the community might recognise them as..

⋆ ect!

⟡.• 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞 ?
Isopods can exist in a range of environments, from fully aquatic to fully terrestrial and can occur on almost every continent in water or on land! This allows this "battle beetle" to fit a variety of different places within Lioden, whether tied to an event (like treasure hunting), found in explore or the gorilla enclave (if non-african species is picked)

⟡.• 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 ?
Because of their habitat range, we have some very funky types of isopods, coming in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes across all the different habitats! Captive breeding has also introduced a variety of colors that could potentially get slapped on any of the designed Isopods!

Some patterns I would suggest are:

⋆ Orange Dalmatian
⋆ White Shark
⋆ Zebra
⋆ Powder Blue
⋆ Piebald
⋆ Albino
⋆ And obviously a wild-type!

⟡.• 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 ?
As we know, some types of battle beetles have more than one member of the same bug type (e.g. spiders, scorpions & mantises) and given the diversity within the Isopoda order, I think it could be a good idea to add multiple (e.g. 1x terrestrial & 1x aquatic - or - 1x spiky & 1x extra smooth), especially since we not only have water themed bugs available (as ≽^⎚˕⎚^≼ #385193 suggested them to be added in their thread) but also crustaceans as battle beetles (as Sun #444465 pointed out the subphylum might hinder the original idea)

- While looking up more variations of the common names, I found more people and wanted to share their idea here as well! -
As we know, there is already a battle beetle decor "Crafted Beetle: Augosoma Centaurus", which does suggest that there might be a series of craftable beetle decors in the future. However, I'd like to suggest Sun#444465's idea, for their cute craftable decor idea called “pile of pollies” :>
