Biography

First Seer of Temple's Land Pride

Matriarch of the Stellar Line

Celestial came into the Temple after a meteor shower one cold winter night. She was taken in immediately by Herodotos, who knew exactly what it felt like to be different and in need of a home. She only knew the word “celestial” so Herodotos and her saw it fitting that that become her name. Retaining no memory from before showing up at the Temple’s entrance, Celestial decided that she would just continue on her life. If she didn’t remember, it had to not be that important, right?

Though over time, something strange was noticed. On full moons, which they all knew lasted three days, Celestial would speak to lions that no one could see. And she would suddenly know things about past pride members or past family members of pridemates who had lost others. After a few too many questions arose, Herodotos took Celestial to the gardens to get to the bottom of the issue one night. When she began to tell him things about his long-dead parents, he knew what it was. Celestial could speak to the dead.

-

After her first litter was a single cub that didn’t share her eyes or skills, Herodotos and Celestial thought there wouldn’t be any more lions like her. Then her second litter was born with a cub touched by the stars in both her coat and her eyes, Astraea. Celestial’s first heir to the Matriarchy that was forming before her eyes. After all, the cub had the same abilities alongside the same eyes. Those had to be the connector.

The other was those celestial guides that she had manifested, and her daughter had too. Where Celestial had a school of fish that followed her, swimming through the air around her legs elegantly, Astraea had another cub that followed her about. One made of stars and that faded in and out like a flicker of fire.

Celestial’s guides, and Astraea’s, couldn’t speak. But they were constant companions to the seers, even staying at their side when the full moon appeared. Sometime they would usher specific souls to their seer in order to make sure they spoke to someone who could help with whatever she was asking about that night. It was a welcome help, the guides could actually interact with the dead in more ways than just speaking.

-

Astraea could pass the power as well. One of her first cubs was able to speak to the dead. The manifestation of her guide occurred mere days after her birth, a beautiful peacock. From there, Celestial knew that their pride would always have at least one of her descendants. As she had more cubs, and her cubs had more cubs, she saw more and more of her own eyes staring back at her over the years. And, for once, she was proud of it. They protected their home and their family using their skills.

What Herodotos knew and she refused was finally coming to fruition.

The Seers of the Temple were now a fixture of their home and community.
