familiar name: ravi

(its pretty much always the cub stage when lions get their familiar ^^)
vayu, now an adolescent, was often made fun of by the other cubs her age for the fact that she would never get a familiar. it brought her down, and it got to the point where she would even try to befriend random animals she would meet during her training sessions. although, it never got her anywhere, always ending up empty handed.

"vayu?"
she looks over, not moving her head from her paws. she was clearly in a worn out state, refusing to go outside of her den in fear she'd be made fun of even further. despite the attempts vayu would try to get the bullying to stop, the countless attempts to finally get a familiar, at last a companion of her own, there was no prevail.
"leave me alone." vayu looks away from her mother, iridiana, who was concerned. "there's something you're not telling me. please, whats the matter so that i can help?" iridiana takes a step forwards, tail twitching nervously.
"nothing!" vayu hisses, glancing over her shoulder. the anger dies down quickly and her frustrated face turns into a devastated look. her ears pin to the back of her head and she quickly looks away, shuffling away further into her nest. "i dont want help."
iridiana approaches, laying down besides vayu and the nest she was in. a few moments pass by, dead silence filling the room. she suddenly speaks up, "is it them?"
vayu looks over, now obviously tearing up. she wipes it away with her shoulder and quickly looks away once again, "its okay to feel this way. araumi is teaching them a lesson, you know that right? they wont bother you anymore."
a few moments go by and vayu jumps to her paws to hug her mother. "i love you," vayu squeaks out.
"i love you too."

bullying stops. vayu finds injured bird. names ravi. becomes friends with her bullies and yayaya!
