She didn't remember how she ended up in The Lake Land
Did someone brought her here? Did she got lost? Has she been abandoned? Or maybe Fate herself made her come here?
She didn't know. She had no memories, she knew only her name - Frost. She had no idea how she received it. Did her parents called her that? Maybe she named herself? Or maybe that was just a nickname? Maybe it wasn't even her name but just a random word that she remembered...
Frost woke up in the medicine den of Anza's pride, surrounded by three herbalists and
the king himself. They all tried to ask her where she came from, but she couldn't tell them. She didn't know.
Anza tried to search for Frost's family, asking the kings of neighboring lands if they lost any cubs, but his search was unsuccessful. He couldn't find her home, so he decided to give her a new one. With a smile on his muzzle Anza welcomed Frost as a new member of his pride.
She was still a cub, so she spent her next few months in the nursery, under
Eclipse's care.
During this time, she befriended
Blizzard, a lioness who found her and brought her to the pride. Together, they searched the place where Frost was found many times, but never found anything. Blizzard said that when she found the cub, she didn't find the scent of any other lions, and she couldn't even smell the direction from which Frost came from. It looked like she just appeared in the middle of The Lake Land. After a while, they finally stopped searching the place, but Frost never stopped searching for her past. She felt that it was important. She was also pretty sure that Blizzard was connected to it in some way... She felt a strong bond with the huntress, almost as if they were family...
When she started her training, Frost wasn't doing very well. She was tired all the time. The whole pride was productive during the day, but Frost just couldn't. She had way more energy at night, especially on those chilly, windy nights.
The mentors quickly realized what the problem was and asked Anza to give Frost her own personal mentor - Blizzard. They both felt better at night and had much more things in common, so their training could be way more succesful.
As expected, it actually worked. Frost's skills started improving much faster and soon she was ready for her first hunt.
Blizzard and Frost left The Den at night. They chose an antelope as their prey. Everything was going smoothly, but just as Frost was about to bite into the victim's throat, something unexpected happened. Cold filled the lioness's body. The bitten antelope froze instead of bleeding. Everything around suddenly was covered by shimmering frost.
It all happened in about a second, but after it Frost noticed that something still was off. Her fangs... They felt colder, longer and sharper... Like made out of ice.
Blizzard and Frost immediately rushed to the medicine den. First, the herbalists examined Frost, and when it was clear that she was okay, the lionesses turned to the shamans, Zecora and Quartz.
Zecora, as the older and experienced shaman took care of Frost's case.
She asked Frost about her memories, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn't remember anything from her past. Zecora began to observe Frost and her new ice fangs.
Everytime she was hunting, the same thing happened. She always freezing her prey. Over time she even started to control this mysterious power. She liked to call it "the frostbite".
Frost's behavior also changed a little. She began acting more like Blizzard - she wagged her tail, made canine-like noises. Everyone assumed that it's because the two lionesses were spending a lot of time together, but Zecora had a different idea.
According to the shaman, Frost could be half-hellhound, like Blizzard.
She told Frost about it, and... The lioness wasn't sure what to think about it. She knew that such a thing was possible, because Blizzard told her about her own hellhound legacy, but being half-hellhound herself? It felt weird...
Frost wasn't sure of the diagnosis at first, but with each passing day she became more and more certain that Zecora was right. Frost really was a hellhound lion... Lionhound?
She felt insecure at first, but soon she realized that it's actually not a bad thing. Her hellhound skills were useful and impressed most of the pride.
When Blizzard became a Hunting Master, Frost became her advisor. Childish and spontaneous Blizzard had a hard time with more official parts of her new role, so she asked Frost to help her with those. Frost was more than glad to help!
As Blizzard's advisor, she also became a very important member of the pride. She attended almost every meeting of The Council and gained the respect of all her pridemates.
After Blizzard's death, Frost took over the role of The Hunting Master completely.
