Throatwort's Den

Welcome, one and all to my Pride! I write a fair bit, so be warned. This is my first year of playing lioden, and needless to say, I adore it!
I'm a bit of an artist, so you can expect me to show some art of my lions once I get a hold of coding this frustrating den page!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy just going around my overdated den!

INTRODUCTIONS


Following the fresh scent of wild boar, you enter a rocky landscape, from a equally stone filled gorge, and you see a small but diverse community of lions a distance away,
sheltered from the hot sun by a large cliff, protecting a rather large collection of prey.
Out of the sparse group, one of the lionesses who was a particular grey tan shade raised her head, locked her brown eyes with yours and stood up.
Walking into the sunlight and approaching you, you notice that her pelt is a lot lighter than it looked in the shade. Sitting down a fair few tail lengths from you, she sat on a grassy part of the plains.
With a smirk, she looked at you with a playful expression, but you feel a little bit of unease, the lioness's stance just felt a little menacing.
"Hello there, alive male lion! Good to know my king isn't here. You wouldn't be any of those defining qualities if so. But please, come into the shade!
One of the cubs I’m protecting saw you from afar. It gave her quite the fright! What a little beetle. Nothing to fear here kit. Nothing I cant handle of course!"
She said, before turning, beckoning for you to follow with her wispy tail.
Reluctantly you abided, following closely after, careful not to tread on the two submales, who were fighting and took no notice of you.
She sat down, back into her position of the leader of this small group. With a paw, she nudged a small gazelle your way.
"Dig in! Our hunters just returned, and we have food to spare. Better finish it before it all rots."
You nodded your head, still feeling a little uneased. You dig your muzzle into the meat, and hearl a snort from above.
Raising your head curiously, you see an adult male lion jump from the rocky out cropping from above, his strong figure looming over you.
"Hello, lion. Don't fret, even a puny cheetah could likely smell your thoughts. I, for one, wont steal your prey however, unlike those fiends. “
The plain pelted lion lifted his nose in the air, smelling for any distant scents, before lowering his head again to meet your eyeline.
“You smell friendly enough. Well, I welcome you to visit our pride as long as you like. Just don’t agitate our elders.” He stepped back into the hollow, his tail swishing behind him. You see a hyena that was cowering in the shadows behind the lion follow closely after.
A golden queen that was watching from afar let out a mewl of success, smiling as she approaches you.
"Hello! I'm Lindani, one of the hunters! Welcome to our pride!
It may be very rocky, but we use this to our advantage. Feel free to explore. But be wary and tread carefully around the others.
Elethu might not be the best of parents, but she is definitely the most protective of them, and hovers over her cubs and basically everyone else.
She will probably fussing about you in a little less that a day. Now, i'll be up in the Troubled Hollow with Malusi.
Meet you there, but wary of the rocks, they are quite slippery."
She said, before scampering off into the cliff side, reaching a dark cave about 3 lion lengths up.
You look back over the pride a final time, before deciding to explore. There is much to see after all!

MEMORIALS FOR THE FALLEN

Couper, a young and bright lioness smiles warmly at your arrival.
"Hello traveler!" The lioness said, sitting down in the dusty shade of a lone tree, seemingly not minding the muddy ground at all.
"This is our memorial site, where we lay our past pride members to rest in the heavens!" She said, with a little too much enthusiasm than even you would prefer.


The Obedient Arlo
You see a few white and grey feathers strewn around an odd pink stone.
Couper notices your interest, and starts to explain.
“Arlo was a lioness that was brought into our pride very late in her life. Even though she blessed us for only a year and a half, she did give us two cubs, Jama, and Cakaza. But still, everyone wishes she could have lived to see them fully grown.”

Sindra the Traveler
You see some burnt out embers, little orange rocks, and a few feathers in a mound.
Couper looks away when seeing you approach the assortment of items.
“Sindra was a little bit like Arlo. She came into the pride after being a traveler in the sahara, with two cubs. Those cubs were me and my sister, Diablis. She always intended to get up and leave the pride, traveling, as her name suggests, but always got busy. I’m sorry it’s messy, I just...don’t know how to organize it. I’m sure what would make her happy. She died of such short notice.”
