UPDATE: Xylax has marked my idea with [++] " [++] in your topic titles means it's on a list to talk about during Development meetings. I just recently started doing this so it will take some time to add it to all topics we reviewed." I'm hoping it gets short listed to put into development and not rejected! Thanks for all your supports!
SUGGESTION BOX:Timid ~Titanlious~ (#34553) : "May I add something?? Like say if your main lion's hunger is at 0%, the 'Harvest Bones' button would appear?" Ari (#37314) : "Instead of a generic skeleton (if Lioden were to go with a generic image), a "Pile of Bones" might be more fitting (or a "Small Pile of Bones", "Medium Pile of Bones", and "Large Pile of Bones" based on the carcass size). It would be easier to make than a skeleton for every carcass and would still be realistic. You would still need to dig through the pile of bones and have the same chances of finding things. In reality, lions rarely leave a skeleton intact when they've devoured all the meat. They tear it to pieces and distribute it based on pride hierarchy. The bones would end up scattered or in a heap once they've gotten all the meat - at the very least not often a recognizable skeleton. Perhaps also a chance to get bone marrow (I never looked at what that item does, so it might be too valuable for this). Lions do eat bones if they're hungry (or calcium deficient), but will usually crack the bones open with their jaws to get at the marrow. So if the bone is destroyed, they would still have the marrow to eat. If they did make carcass-specific skeletons, they might also be used as cub-only amusement items (the biggest skeletons, of course). Letting the cubs play in it would either turn it into a Pile of Bones or destroy it. I'm thinking things like elephants and hippos that I could imagine my cats having a ball using like a jungle gym. Perhaps a chance to get a skeleton form large animals, with the default being a pile?" Simba_Girl: I was thinking of that too. Bone Marrow gives you +20% energy. Maybe Large Bone piles can give you a chance to get Bone Marrow. 7/12 EDIT: All have a chance for Bone Marrow Umar (#1901) : "You know how your lion finds carcasses to scavenge on in explore? Maybe, if your lion has 0% hunger when he finds the leopard's kill, he could have the option to try to get a bone or two out of it instead of it going to waste :)" AishiCc (#32713) : "Would a small bird possibly grant you a feather, random or otherwise, with/instead of a skull/bone? I know a small bird like a rat would just be eaten whole realistically but some people also like feathers. Just throwing that out there." Current Prize Mark Up From the Suggestion Box:These are ideas from other people currently so people can get an idea what you can get with the bone pile idea. This is free for anyone to edit just have to tell me. This is not the final idea. Lioden can change what they choose. No Bones(?)Birds: (Chicken) 60% 1 feather (?) 40% 2 feathers (?) 80% Bone Marrow (?) Small Bone Pile1 use carcasses 1-10% Skull 40% Bone Marrow Medium Bone Pile2-4 use carcasses 1-40% Skull 20% Bone Marrow Large Bone Pile5+ use carcasses 1-100% Skull 10% Bone Marrow ----------------------------------------------------------------- Bump this if you support xD - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Check out my other ideas: Hunting Battles (A Way To Use Stats) Additional Multiple Hunting Parties Branch Restock Organisation Feature |

Great idea...or maybe do like the flood where you could just make the food into rawhide...just pull the skull instead? Simple like the flood :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Logical and well thought out, not too much added work, and completely skipable if a player does not care about skulls/bones. Would a small bird possibly grant you a feather, random or otherwise, with/instead of a skull/bone? I know a small bird like a rat would just be eaten whole realistically but some people also like feathers. Just throwing that out there. 0 players like this post! Like? |

There could be feathers from birds yes. All I can think is you can maybe get a feather or 2 from a chicken. I don't know any other birds you can eat on. As for the rats and small rodents there was an idea where you could get bone marrow from large piles of bones, but I can make it where you can get it from all piles of bones as well, or just from the small animal you eat. 0 players like this post! What if you named it 'Skull Enchantment' instead of 'Skull potion'. I personally feel like Skull potion might not really fit in. But anyway, I support! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I really like this idea, you have my support! I personally prefer skulls to feathers, can play with more of pride quicker with them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

This is a really interesting concept- I hope that the LioDen folks put it back there in the 'lets do this' pile for once they start upgrading the game (like the awesome battle system!) instead of being so busy just doing events and bugs! I think one thing that pleases me about it, is that if it doesn't please someone, they don't have to use it. I especially like the idea that you could 'convert' food to a toy this way, or have a food source 'drop' the toy in random chances- anything that is easy for the player to skip or to use, is a HUGE bonus for me! I look forward to seeing them tinker with this idea and maybe make it happen! 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Exactly, I don't think lions can eat the bones as well. XD" Just adding if you didn't know already! Lions will eat the bones. Bones that haven't been cooked aren't hard. For example, chicken bones that we eat meat from are already cooked so the bones are hard and dangerous and shouldn't be eaten; but as another example dogs that are fed raw meat will eat the bones because they're soft and you can eat the marrow inside. There shouldn't really be a "chance" at getting marrow, because they 100% will eat it and the ENTIRE carcass in the wild. Sorry if this ruins the entire idea. :( 0 players like this post! Like? I think this becomes an even better idea, as converting the last use of a carcass into Rawhide has been showcased already in two events! :D Orangel- actually Lions cannot consume the larger animals bones- it is one reason that hyenas THRIVE as well as they do in the environment. They CAN crush and digest even skulls and HUGE bones like thighbones. They can crunch them up and completely digest them- which adds calcium to strengthen teeth and bones in THEM and keep them strong! Any big cat will eat smaller bones of course, so I would definitely hope they don't allow smaller carcasses with more fragile bones, that is, to be converted to a skull or a bone. They could even have a specific toy with a specific number of uses that came from specific groups of carcasses- for instance, an Elephant Calf Carcass might only be converted to a rib-bone or a "heavy toy bone" while a Buffalo might be converted to "Horn" or "leg with hooves"... etc 0 players like this post! +1 RottAndArtist :) Smaller animals have a very small chance to get a skull. Like if the lion didn't get a chance to eat the whole thing. It would break more often. Even if this chance was 1% it would still make sense. 0 players like this post! Like? |
