Yesterday, there was a one-day-only decor in Monkey Business. As it was available last year, it was not announced, and as a result, many people seem to have been aware of it being available, myself included. Those unfortunate enough to miss the decor have to wait a year or buy them for much higher prices off of peoples' branches. I'd like to suggest that every time a one-day-only decor is released into the shop, a news thread be posted about it either the day of or the day before. Considering a small news post saying, "Hey, there's a one-day-only decor in the shop right now. Get it while you can!" takes only a few seconds, I feel that it should be announced to give players a heads up about it. Information about it may be found on the Wiki, but you can't expect everyone to stalk the page on Monkey Business to know exactly when the decors are to be available, and then to remember those dates in a year. A quick reminder about limited-time decors simply makes sense. If not a newspost, it has been suggested to make a notification similar to the "You have an unread message!" notification that reoccurs automatically on the day of the event. This could also work. |

For people who are saying that announcing it would ruin the rarity... Announcements also make people WANT the item. If it is never announced then several of us probably go quite a while without ever knowing it existed in the first place. If we don't know it exists, we don't want it anyway. I didn't know about the July 1st item. Had I not seem this thread I still would not have known. It's not like I go around checking every lion in Lioden to see of there's a decor I don't recognize; and as some people have pointed out sometimes people just hoard then and don't even use them. Not knowing of the existence of an item "raises its rarity", but until someone finds out it exists it also significantly lowers the value and demand. For me, had it not been for this thread, I probably never would have found out about the 1 day decor. So my demand for it would be 0. And if you're worried about a new announcement or pm being "too big of a give away", try something subtler. Like the small banner at the top mentioning it. Or perhaps on the Explore screen a special icon would appear on Monkey Business signifying that there was something new. Either way, I support.  0 players like this post! Like? |

I always miss these 1-day decors. Everytime. I especially wanted the cub decors. And I missed this décor. It was kind of unfair to the people who weren't online all day, and that they only read Sales Chat. You have my full support. 0 players like this post! Like? |
