Note: This topic was developed BEFORE the update on claiming chased lionesses. The naive side of yoshi strikes again *hides in corner*

I kind of just had this casual idea of having a sort of pound for unwanted lions, lionesses, adols and cubs. (Ok, some of you guys don't have to continue reading, you'll probably disagree)

Since the site is flooding (well, maybe not really flooding) with unwanted lions, cubs etc, I think we should set up a sort of pound thing that we can donate our lions to.

The idea is that for every lion donated to the pound, we'll get (or pay for a dump fee?) a small amount of SB (5 SB?) for helping other players :)

I think it's a great way to help other players get their dream lions without actually having to search in the Trading Center for a long period of time.

(Note: Maybe a searching system may be added in the pound? Like searching for a specific base coat, markings etc. Some people might disagree with this)

(EXTRA NOTE: maybe the donation system should be specific about which lions they take for the specific donation week, like only the ones with vitilgo markings etc? Also, there should be a limit on how many lions we're allowed to donate in a month?)

I'm not entirely sure what others will think about this idea, but I'd just thought it might be a nice addition to the game.

Please feel free to leave any feedback, but no hate please.

But NCLs aren't flooding the market. There's absolutely no reason for anyone to buy them because they're totally free for anyone to get. That's the whole point. It's totally pointless to add something else to the game that does what claiming already does. Want a lioness but have no money? Go claim an NCL. It's really that simple.

If you're worried about a "lot of lions flooding the market", than this idea is the bad one. All that will happen here is someone will 'donate' their lion to the pound. Then someone else will come along, pick it out for cheap, and sell it to someone else for more sb, re-entering a lion into the market that could have been removed by chasing. The only way to prevent reselling free/cheap lionesses is to make them undesirable - like NCLs.

No support for reasons previously stated. It just seems as though it would have the opposite effect you're going for.

:/

I don't get why your saying that and not giving a solution?

1. It would give newbies a better chance at actually getting better lions.
2. And Par they are haven't you been in the Trades? over %50 of the ones I just looked at are people trying to sell NCL lions it ruining the cub market because its making lions worthless on there own they only sell of they have special things lions them selves should be able to sell but they cant because of how many there are!

3. The staff are sooo stretched with making new coats and markings because the last ones they released are already every where and no longer have any value hell it takes weeks maybe even months because there so busy to fix one players bug issues its not fair on the staff we have to make some way of upping cub value!

I don't get why everyone is saying reasons against it and offering no solutions.....

and no one is taking anything I'm saying into account I feel like I'm going around in circles!

I agree with Xy there are a lot of problems with this and a lot of them can just be fixed.

Its ok just pointing them out but if you read back he's being giving a lot of solutions that people have being ignoring and just posting the same issues again.

Also I know that The staff are really at breaking point there so stretched coming up with new stuff because people have just bred and bred there new markings into NCL that are worthless.

Hell I posted a bug in the bug board over a month ago....I bump it up every week and the bug is still there....

Really if for nothing else we should do it for the staff its really not fair on them.

Also could no one else really agree with Xy till me? its not fair on him that he on his own has to come up with all the solutions guys just saying :/

Why not just donate to cub chasers?

It is a good idea, but no support.

- This is supposed to be a semi-realistic SIM - many of the players would be against a 'pound' aspect.

- There can't be any money in it. NCLs clog the market, and even if you made it so that you can't donate NCLs, you can just breed more NCL-like lions from your lionesses and your king, donating them to get SB. Yes, it would be a slow process, but it wouldn't be worth it. All new players might see is the money gain from such a thing.

- Getting lions for newbies is easy. I got three gifted to me upon my arrival. Not NCLs, but real pretty lionesses. I hunted for food, kept my pride small, and made 10GB just from selling event items and food. In two months. I work 40hrs a week and have a 6month old baby. So, I don't think that this game is hard.

I know you're trying to come up with solutions to the overpopulation problem, but really, what needs to be done is more chasing of lions.

I agree, but there shouldn't be a search bar. You should be able to adopt once a day, and the pound opens randomly. You can drop off at any time, but can only adopt when the pound is open. Also, there should be a small fee to drop off a lioness/lion/cub. It would be like a donation to the pound. Finally, it shouldn't be called a pound. A pound is for dogs. There are no pounds in Africa. It should be called something like the watering whole, or the black market, or something like that :/

1) People give away amazing lions to newbies all the time. Just look in threads. Cheap or free special mark and based lions are already there.

2) Selling NCL's is not ruining the cub market. There's just more cubs than people want. It's supply vs demand. I'm willing to bet over half the cubs are special based/marked cubs too. NCL's are NOT the problem.

3) The staff handle problems in a very reasonable amount of time. I don't see how they're 'so stretched'
And frankly, Markings are going to be spread no matter how they're released. This suggestion the OP posted won't help anything with that. -Not to be rude Op. x3 It's not a bad Idea, I just don't support it.-

And as a bonus, People don't need to post solutions. They also don't need to agree with you.

I don't see the point of this "pound".
Aside from turning this into an adoptable site and taking away it's a lion sim that's semi-realistic....

We have the TC. If someone finds a lion they really like on it...or a user's page..even if they have no money..they can negotiate, actually put effort into raising the SB or GB needed and have their lion/ess. People should have SOMETHING to work for in this game...be it stats, markings...just something instead of making this site just hand everything to a user.

We have gifting threads on here...so new users can get fairly decent lion/esses for cheap, if anything.

And lastly...if you want a lioness and have no SB...go claim an NCL...work up your impression so you can have a higher chance of claiming.

We don't need a pound...this can backfire..such as with the buying one out and being sold for more profit.

And if you really just want to get rid of the lion/ess because it clogs up space..just chase the dang thing. :|
I'd rather chase a lion/ess for free than have to pay a "fee" to put it in the pound. And yes, even after I try to sell it, only to find no one is interested.

On another note....
I've seen too many NCL lionesses in the TC for the past few months. I don't know if it's people that don't understand they aren't worth anything...or if they are like "PLEASE I NEED THEM GONE" type guilting..but it definitely shows. While NCL's may not be ruining the market...there is a large amount in the TC. It's clogging...or just making it harder to find what you're looking for when you have to scroll through more pages in the sea of "PRETTY NCL O u O" .
Instead of just chasing them people think they can make a quick SB off them..which sometimes works.
No it doesn't mean that this only adds value to Lilac/Celestials or what have you...but as said above..it makes it harder to dig through to find good trades.

For numerous reasons that have already been listed above, I have to say no support.

Your idea is all done in good planning and thinking, however it is flawed in many reasons I am sure you will be tired of reading again, so I will simply put it like this:

There is a "Chase" option - it's not that hard to chase off lion/esses that you don't want. It's not like a poor baby lion cub gets slaughtered in Africa every time you use that option. These are virtual lion/esses in a virtual world.

And I bet the whole pound will be full of NCLs - heck, I mean if there was a pound, I would be offloading all my newly claimed lionesses (that I claimed for no other reason than to get impression points) to the pound.

Besides, it's not really realistic - had this game have been populated with cats, dogs and cutesy animals like rabbits, a pound would have been a great edition - but it really isn't suitable for LioDen (while it does have drugs that make you change gender, age and lionesses with pink and greyish purple bases).

*stops typing and pulls blanket over head*

I do not mean to offend you, or any others who think this idea to be life-savingly important to the game - I just wished to give my opinion and feedback ^^

I feel that we should have to pay to dump the lionesses, however I feel a "pound" type area would be ideal for newbies.
