NEW BATTLING SYSTEM
We have released a NEW BATTLING SYSTEM!!!!

It's fully dynamic, reacts immediately and NO MORE SPAM SWIPE.
This new system requires you to THINK and plan strategy. Every animal has a different trait, body type and your moves have different effects on them!

Your stats matter now! Lower stat lions might have more trouble winning, but with certain animals you might have the advantage if you're very smart or fast! Watch out for the arrows! If the arrows are on your side, it means you start first and get a damage bonus. If the arrows are on the enemy's side, they will start first and get the bonus.

It will be linked under every battle so you can access it whenever you need after the battle.

We do realise it will take some time for you guys to get used to everything and learn how it works, but that's the fun thing about such massive updates! It's a game changing system and we hope you wil enjoy it as much as we have for past weeks of testing.

If the battling images might be broken, report them to me #4 - I will fix asap!
If it's something else please resort to bug boards.

The animals will be animated.
This will take HUGE amount of time to do for 70+ animals you can currently battle, but month by month we'll be releasing few as updates! FUN!

I have yet to beat a rhino or an elephant. No joke, I have been trampled into the ground without any chance at all by about 30 rhinos & elephants since this morning.....I think it's a nice idea for an update, but perhaps start it off a little more slowly on the damage output for wilds?

Someone mentioned a guide earlier --- if winning these fights is up to strategy and not just random luck, I'd love to see a guide that helps XD

Speaking of which, about 10 seconds after posting, my butt was handed to me once again by another rhino. I think I'm going to just start skipping right past all the rhinos and elephants I find :/

A lot of people in the chatbox and no doubt in this thread have been making complaints about the difficulty of this new and improved battle system, so I'd like to add my two cents to that whole debate (and hopefully not make this post too long).

Although I'm glad that the battle system has been reworked, I think that the staff may have overshot the difficulty in battles. Although my lion's stats are high after many level-ups, he's still a rolled lion and they are not renowned for their high stats if you put them next to the products of generations and generations of breeding. Therefore, the fact that stats now matter in NPC battles is probably his worst nightmare - NPCs are now equals and in many cases (as proven by dozens of lost battles) superiors. Even something ten times smaller than him like a fox could beat him just by the virtue of being the same "level" as him; doesn't that sound just a bit far-fetched?
Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. This is not a hate-post where I bash the new battle system incessantly and overlook all the great new features it's introduced. A rhinoceros is no longer equal to something small-framed like a honey badger, scary as those little freaks of nature may be. The battle UI has surpassed anything I could have expected and then some. But (yes, this is where the inevitable 'but' comes in) it's not without its flaws; that being what I've just mentioned above.

In conclusion to the unnecessarily long essay, the staff did a wonderful job on this one. However - and this is just a suggestion - maybe staff should consider knocking down the difficulty a tad so poor ol' senryo isn't stuck in the Shrubland fighting vicious dik-diks?

I like how interactive this new system is. A big minus that stats now matter. How does that work for new players? I definitely don't like that I'd lose most of my battles because of my poor stats.

But in previous system battles, I thought some species were effected more or less by the two different moves. I spam-bit elephants & swiped at things... that would eat Rapidfire's cubs. :P

I freakin adore this new battling system. Omg. It's just... it's jawdropping, and makes battling seem less like a chore X'D Especially considering that this event is all about battling. Since both my accounts have 500+ stat males, I haven't been negatively effected by the fact that stats matter, but personally -- I love that they do. I've always kinda thought stats were near-useless, but this gives them a whole new purpose! Love this update, guys, thanks!

Except for newbies. I feel pity for them and their lack of funding and low-statted rolled males; I was there once. -_-;

Just adding my 2 cents. I really, really appreciate the hard work that went into this new system. For all intents and purposes, it is very engaging and immersive and very, very cool. Very similar to other battle systems I've seen in high quality games. I just used very too much.

However, I think it's WAY too difficult now and personally it's nearly a roadblock. It's frustrating to have spent a lot of time and GB on making the perfect lion without considering a need for stats, and all of a sudden it just now matters. Sigh. This also is a big blow to newer players with rolled lions. Furthermore, and I realize this is a total first world problem, anyone wishing to spend a quick moment here or there on their cellphones will be essentially deterred from the amount of time it now takes just to defeat one enemy.

I am not sure if it was a good idea to base it on the stats, seeing we have an enormous stat gap.

Is it fair towards new members who start out with a rolled lion? Can they win battles? Did you also take into account that there is a difference between lvl1 and lvl1 lion? One has rolled stats, other has over 2000? Will there be even a challenge for high statted lions? Can those with lower stats even win? Did you also pay attention to the fact that stats grow with each generation and the NPC stats might not be accurate after a while?

On my accounts so far I am winning all battles, and I find no other challenge than having to think of a tactic. Otherwise I am sure I would be able to ace all biomes with my over 3000 stats lion.

Do levels even have a meaning now that stats have this purpose? Was it actually worth the effort or did you just discourage casual players and new members?
