So. Dragon riders and anti-dragon riders fighting each other? My idea is we each have a character or two, who each have a dragon fighting partner. They don't know each other yet, but they get to know each other after they learn they are fighting for the same thing. Most people don't want dragons there, so there is a huge army of anti dragon riders, and only a few dragon riders left. The dragon riders have to fight to stay alive, and convince everyone they don't want to destroy everything. Set in kind of medieval ages, so swords, bows, and armor. XD Any other ideas? Our Character Bios: Dick Grayson Human: Name: Lewenna Archer Age: 19 Gender: Female Looks: Lithe, 5' 7", 130 Lbs. Fiery, deep red hair with little streaks of black, kind of like embers. Matches her dragon partner. Hazel eyes with a tint of red. She has an extremely fiery and outspoken personality. Will normally say what is on her mind and not afraid of a fight. She will not likely to initiate a conversation, and isn't very good at making friends, but once someone is her friend, she protects them will everything she has. She is very strong and tough, not easy to take down, or keep down, in a fight. Weapon of choose: Hand to hand combat. History: RP out Dragon Name: Aloys (a-lo-yis) Species: Fire Gender: Male Looks: Black with dark red, almost black, underwing liners. Eyes look like black holes. Leilani Name: Despira Ives (De-spear-a) Gender: Female Age: 18 (Turning 19) Appearance: Wavy dark brown hair which crops off at around her waist. She stands at 5' 6" and sports a thin frame yet muscular build and weighs in at about 115 lbs. Her features are sharp and defined, with freckles that dot across her nose and cheeks. Despira has shockingly bright blue eyes which stand out against her natural and earthy look. Personality: Passionate in what she believes in. She is quite meticulous to the point of perfectionism, although she may procrastinate Despira is one to get the job done and on time. She takes her responsibilities personally consistently going above and beyond doing everything she can to exceed her peers expectations. Most of the time she takes things directed not necessarily towards her, personally which usually can set her on edge. Her slight shyness and sensitivity shields what lies beneath the surface and due to this she is prone to having bursts of emotion, whether it be from sadness or anger. Strengths: Supportive, reliable, loyal, and very observant Weaknesses: Impatient, tends to bottle up her emotions leaving her vulnerable to outbursts Weapon of choice: Bow and arrow Background: Her father died before she turned 2 years old. Despira grew up in a humble home along with her bed-ridden, ill mother and uncle who kindly takes care for them both. (Rest RP'd out) Dragon: Irisal (I-ris-all) Gender: Female Species: Light Dragon Appearance: Her scales are resemblant to shining gold which seem to radiate a kind of luminescence. Despira eyed the saddle appreciatively, bobbing her head as Lewanna spoke. She knew that getting used to the danger of going into towns was going to be a skill, that would be imperative on learning, or else her life and the others would be threatened. Despira's smile brightened as she took the leather between her hands, running her fingers along the smooth edges. "It's lovely, thank you." She replied smiling down at the saddle. "Okay." Despira added, acting too much like a child receiving a gift on a holiday. She turned on her heel swiftly, walking a few strides towards the golden dragoness. She held the saddle out for Irisal to see, then gently slid the curved leather across her back, near her long neck. Despira pat the saddle lightly glancing towards the light dragon. "You like it girl?" She piped up, blue eyes squinting as she continued to grin. Irisal must've understood and chuffed quietly in response turning her slender neck to look at the saddle laid across her back. ![]() |

Lewanna smiled at Despira's child like joy, the joy she so wished she could experience anymore. A smile stayed on her lips as Despira slid the leather onto the dragon, who appeared to like it. Though Lewanna was sure it would be much more comfortable then the makeshift horse saddle. She walked up behind Despira gently, glancing over to Aloys before speaking. "I'de like to put some sheep will on the underside to add some comfort to it for Irisal. I can make a sheepskin removable cover for you seat too if you would like. It might make it a little slippers, but you should still easily be able to hang on and it'll be a little more comfortable." She suggested, smiling gently. ![]() |

She cast a side glance towards Lewanna. "Sounds like a great idea, for me and Irisal both." She responded her voice perking up a bit. Despira turned around fully, facing Lewanna. "Do we have to buy sheepskin or hunt one down?" She asked softly, eyebrow arching as she spoke. "And is this saddle rideable for now? Or are we going to have to travel by foot to the next town?" Despira added once more tucking a loose strand of chestnut hair, which fell from the braid, behind her ear. Irisal leaned her body to the ground, stretching out her feet in front of her, the softer shade of her stomach grazing the grass beneath the dragoness. Irisal couldn't help but keep thinking about the small bluish egg, and sudden urges to be around it took control of her mind briefly. It was as if a maternal instinct suppressed inside of her was kicking in. Her electric eyes searched the group, checking where the egg could be, head turning every which way. ![]() |

Lewanna chuckled gently at Despira's question. "It's much easier if we buy it. That way we don't have to tan it ourselves." She said gently. Her eyes looked over the saddle, shaking her head gently. "Unfortionatly I don't have enough leather to do any of the straps, making it extremely dangerous to use the saddle until I get it hooked up." A slight sad tone laced her voice, but it quickly changed. Lewanna looked over to Irisal, confusion lacing her features when the dragon seamed to be having a mini freakout, obviously looking for something. Lewanna scrunched up her face, wondering what on earth the dragoness was looking for before she realized it. "Ah!" She said aloud, reaching into the bag at her hip and pulling out the blueish egg, slightly unwrapping it and holding it out for Irisal. "Is this what you where looking for?" She inquired gently, hoping her guess was right. ![]() |

Despira chuckled softly, "alright then." She slid the leather saddle off of the dragon's back, holding the surprisingly light seat in her hands. An eyebrow shot up at Lewanna's sudden exclamation watching curiously as she brought the egg out of her rucksack. Then she traveled her eyes to Irisal who seemed to exhale momentarily at when the rounded egg was brought out. The golden dragoness craned her neck dipping her head down and pressing her nose gently against the surface, breathing out a warm stream of air, exiting from her nostrils. Despira smiled, glad that her dragon was taking a liking to the soon to hatch egg. The young woman touched a comforting hand on Irisal's neck. "Don't worry we have the egg safe, girl." She cooed lightly releasing her hand to hold on the saddle with two hands. For a moment her azure eyes looked to the sky, the blueness barely peeking out between the branches and leaves which filtered the sun's rays through. ![]() |

Lewanna smiled heartily at the dragon's reaction to the egg. "We aren't going to hurt it. We would never do that." She said gently, letting Irisal have another minute before wrapping the egg back up and slipping it back into her pack. She loved having the egg close by, reassuring herself nothing would happen to it. She smiled gently at the pack before turning back to Despira and Irisal. "So, it's getting pretty late. Do you want to camp down for the night and try and find a town tomorrow?" She suggested, hazel eyes watching the dragons, noting James over napping against Aloys. ![]() |

Irisal watched as the egg was placed back in the bag, but at least for now she knew where it was, safe. The dragoness tilted her head away resting her head on her feet as she settled in to sleep. Despira looked back down listening to Lewanna. "Yeah, I think for now we should rest and leave at dawn tomorrow." She responded nodding her head. She set the leather saddle down beside Irisal and began to sit beside the dragoness' underside, where she could stay warm. A fire wasn't quite necessary in her opinion as Irisal already in the dying light was beginning to illuminate, her scales keeping in the light of the sun. Despira leaned back placing her head against the golden dragon's belly her legs extended out. For a moment she wished they had the wool already, it could have made as a nice bed, other than the slightly cushioned grass. "Night." Despira spoke her eyes beginning to shut. ![]() |

Lewanna smiled at Despira as she settled down for the night. "G'night." She whispered, nostalgia in her voice. She pack her leather working tools away quietly, making sure everything was ready to leave in the morning. She walked over to Aloys gently, sitting down and pulling his saddle and harness with her, using a rag to gently wipe it. She looked over to James, who was fast asleep against Aloys, only a few feet away from her. She smiled softly, nostalgia in her eyes, her hands gently cleaning Aloys's saddle as the light faded more and more. Her trained eyes and ears listened and watched for any movements from the woods, keeping watch until later when she would wake James to take next watch, letting Despira rest after their exciting day. Aloys's belly glowed a faint red, causing Lewanna to snuggle deeped into his side and the heat. Her thoughts moved gently with her hands as they polished the saddle, thinking of when they used to have competitions to see who could clean their saddle and harness the best, or who could fly through an obstacle course the fastest. ![]() |

Slowly then all at once, Despira managed to fall asleep. Her mind drifting as she let the darkness envelop her. The soft noises of crickets, trees creaking and swaying with the steady wind, and Irisal, her breathing slow and rhythmical brought a sort of peace over the girl as she slept soundly. Hopefully tonight she wouldn't be disturbed by the fast paced nightmares of her mother's death. But this time Despira wasn't plagued by her mother's blood, instead a vision of her uncle came to her subconscious. The room was dark and Enzo was placed at the head of a dimly lit table, rounded and bulky. And all around him were men, wearing dark clothing watching her uncle with intent stares, focusing on his faint and deep voice. She couldn't quite pick up the words he was saying, till her dream shifted, and now Despira was right in front of her uncle. The happiness and approachable smile he used to hold was all but gone, the man she used to know completely void. She swallowed hard, her heart rate picking up as Enzo seeming to bore his almost blackened eyes right into her. Then the silence between them broke as his voice blew over her. "I'm coming for you, Despira.." She reeled away from his face, feeling as though her dream was so real she could smell the scent of his breath clogging her senses. Despira opened her eyes wide, her breathing coming out in gasps, the cold night air bringing her back to her own mind, ever slowly. ![]() |

Lewanna glanced at Despira and James every once in a while, glad they where sleeping soundly. She didn't think she would actually wake James up to take the second shift of the night. She wasn't very tired, used to sleeping a couple hours and running for days off of that. Plus the fact she didn't want to deal with nightmares again. Not when the day had gone so well, finding a dragon egg and all. I mean, come on! A dragon egg! No one found those anymore. Lewanna was in almost a trance when she heard a noise to her right. She turned her head quickly, almost immediaty knowing what it was. She saw Despira jerk awake, her breath frantic and eyes wide. Lewanna, swiftly and wish practiced grace, was next to Despira in a moment, speaking soothing words to her, hoping she was out of the nightmare and would recognize her. "Easy. Easy Despira. It's me, Lewanna. It was just a nightmare." She spoke gently, an almost motherly tone in her voice. "Just breath. Your okay." She remembered speaking to a couple of the kids at her old dragon camp like this when they would wake up from nightmares, crying for people who where gone or scared of what was to come. She brought her attention swiftly back to Despira though, knowing she would probably want a friend. ![]() |

Despira took in another breath her whole body quivering slightly. She pulled her eyes to meet Lewanna's hazel ones, her face contorted with sadness and laced with confusion. "Lewanna..?" She breathed out rubbing her hand across her face and over her eyes as she was on the verge of tears. "It felt so real.." Despira began to get choked up imagining Enzo's face inches from hers as his voice resonated, chilling her to the core. "He's coming for us-" Despira opened her eyes wider, a few salty tears spilling down her freckled cheeks, quickly wiping them away. Without a second thought, like a mourning child, Despira reached out for Lewanna. Burying her face into the girl's shoulder near her neck, her body shivering which each breath she took. Irisal began to stir, her blue eyes opening to see Despira in a state of grief. The dragoness' scales brightened as she woke up further her neck craning to get a better look at the two girls. ![]() |

LeWanna knew what Despira meant when she said he's coming for us. She saw the tears in her eyes, the need to be comforted. She didn't hesitate when Despira reached for her, her strong arms wrapping securely around her as she rocked gently, her hand rubbing soft circle on her back. "It's okay. It's okay." Sh repeated gently, all of her motherly instincts coming forward as she held the shaking Despira, a bitter reminder of the times they lived in. She looked over towards her dragon gently, noting both James and Aloys where awake. She shook her head gently when James offered to come over, mouthing a 'go to sleep. I got this.' Gently to him. She turned back to Despira, leaning gently against Irisal, hoping the dragoness didn't mind, as she held Despira securely in her arms. Even though Lewanna was barely a year older then Deapira she had been through so much, learning and adapting to her situations. She knew she would have to teach Deapira how to too, but she was glad the girl trusted her to comfort her when she was scared, and Lewanna knew she would make sure Despira knew it was okay to be scared sometimes. Hell she was scared sometimes. "It's okay Despira. I've got you. You can go back to sleep. I'll keep the nightmares away." She said softly. ![]() |

Despira silently let out a small exhale, as Lewanna didn't pull away, but comforted her. Despira felt a few more stray tears fall, wiping her face then pulling away slowly. "Thank you.." She sniffled, trying for a smile, then her eyebrows furrowing as she apologized. "Sorry, I'm acting like a child.." She spoke regaining some of herself back. "I can't sleep now.. You have to rest too." Despira replied a small yawn escaping from her gaping mouth. She turned to Lewanna pursing her lips tightly. "No one ever told me that grief felt so much like fear. I don't even know what I feel, angry, sad, scared.." She broke off mumbling a bit, still admittedly tired. Irisal glanced at the two, hearing their faint whispers among the stillness of the forest. The golden dragoness pulled her head up glancing towards Aloys who was now waking too, along with the man who had shown up not too long ago. ![]() |

Lewanna let Despira go gently, eyes full of kindness. "No need to thank me." She said gently. She grabbed Despira's shoulder gently. "You aren't acting like a child in the slightest. You have experienced something traumatic and this is the natural response. It's nothing to be ashamed of." Her voice was soft, but a tone of finality in it. She let out a gently sigh. "Grief comes in a lot of ways for a lot of people. Some people get extremely depressed. Others very scared. Some very angry and thirsty for revenge. And some a little of all of them. It's natural and normal to feel. You shouldn't shut off your emotions if you have a choice. She removed her hand from Despira's shoulder gently. "I'm not tired, and you obviously are. I'll sit with you if you want, try and keep the nightmares away. I'll at least wake you up before they get to bad." She spoke gently, hoping with all of her heard Despira would accept the offer. "If I get to tired I'll wake James up." She smiled gently. ![]() |

Her eyes crinkled slightly in a smile genuinely grateful for Lewanna's words to her. A feeling of weight lifting from her chest as she let out another sigh. "Okay if you say so." She responded offering her a smile in appreciation of Lewanna's kindness towards her. "Maybe stay till I fall asleep?" She asked her voice a bit hushed as another yawn escaped. Despira let her eyelids fall, "oh and wake me up when the sun begins to peek over the horizon. We should leave.." She took in a breath as sleep pulled at her consciousness. "Leave at dawn." Despira concluded slumping against Irisal more as she finally succumbed to her tiredness. She let a smile grace her features as she slept, she was beginning to think of Lewanna as a close friend, almost an older sister figure, despite their close age it felt as though Lewanna carried wisdom with her and more experience than Despira. Irisal let her eyelids fall to, glad that Despira was feeling better at least for now, losing family was the worst punishment. The dragoness began to sleep soundly, her mind drifting off thinking about the egg and the secrets it held for them to find out hopefully soon. ![]() |
