-LOCKED - Hunting Decision - and more!

Event

We've adjusted the event bars again to lower the amount of gifts and poop you need to unlock the tiers.

Also, don't forget that the Advent Calendar starts on the 22nd of December!

Hunting Changes

We took the responses of the poll we put out into consideration, but decided that the best course of action would be to go with option 3 - to change it so that you have a choice to use either GB or SB to skip. The price for each time you skip starts at 1000SB or 1GB, and will increase by 100SB after each use. If you skip 10 times then the GB price will raise to 2GB to skip, a further 10 times will raise it to 3GB to skip. This will reset back every day, to 1000SB and 1GB. We feel that this was the most fair way to deal with the situation.

In addition to this, adding hunting turns has been restored and it is a fixed 10SB per hunt per lioness as it was before.

The Lion Wardrobe

You can now import any male from your pride into the Lion Wardrobe to play around with his base/markings and decorations, and as requested (many times) you are now able to import your lionesses to the Lion Wardrobe! For the time being, we've restricted this feature to adult lions but we will be adding cubs (and cub stages) some time in the future.

Some lionesses are already enjoying this feature...

New Eyes!

We have added two new eye colours to the game - and you can get these eye colours anywhere. Newly claimed lionesses from explore can be found with them, or you can choose them as an option in the custom lioness/lion features. Or go see what they look like in the Lion Wardrobe!

The colours we have added are Tan and Olive.

Raffle Lioness

The last lion to impress a female here was Draconis Angelus Malfoy (#4467)! Congratulations!

A new lovely lady has arrived and is waiting to see her choices.. ;)

Christmas Break

Just a note, there will be no updates on the 26th December (next Friday). It's Christmas, so the admin team are taking a break and spending time with family and friends. We hope you have a fantastic Christmas - or if you don't celebrate it, have a good week!

P.S. There's a special surprise waiting for you in Tier 3 of the event bars ;)
P.S. 2 Shad added new images for avatars!

Thanks so much for the lovely updates. Very glad to hear that the hunting situation is now stabilized, and the eyes are awesome!

-edit: also, guys, the admins did not ignore our opinions at all. If they wished to ignore our opinions, there never would have been a poll in the first place. The admins clearly stated that the poll was not democratic.

I kind of wish everyone would realize that "ignoring your opinion" and "making a decision that was not your opinion" are not the same thing. As I am not staff, I don't know exactly what was said, but I do know that if they had decided on an option prior to making the poll, they would not have made the poll in the first place. You CAN listen to someone else's opinion and disagree with it.

I'm personally very glad this ended up the way it did. Without skipping I can get in 20+ hunts per day, and I was actually very upset at the idea of having to buy more lionesses or spend about 1/4th the amount of time on Lioden after I ran out of hunts on my five (5) huntresses. I personally feel that the high-activity, high investment players who enjoy playing for stats have taken quite a few hits in the past year (hunting the first time, patrolling, stats pass ratio) that the non-stats, color/marking/casual breeders simply don't experience as much and therefore don't fully understand how hard it is to keep interest in a game that seems to be slowly (or quickly) eliminating your main reason for playing. I do understand that stats need to be controlled, I just don't like seeing that stats-players are "selfish" for wanting a feature we used heavily to be returned, especially after there are new bases, markings, eye colors, a boost in 2+ cub births, etc for those players who simply breed for looks.

I feel the admins did a really good job of taking the time to read through the comments and also the poll and deciding what they thought was best for the site. It's really appreciated.

I've seen a lot of people mention about how they won't be able to hunt as much and such now, and I don't really understand, this system is almost exactly the same way as before? If you were fine before and it wasn't really an issue, then why is it now such a big thing?

I'm not having a go or anything! ;O; I'm literally just wondering, because I'm a little confused on all of that? D:

i would reason that this is like getting candy for an affordable price, then having that price raised to something less affordable. sure, you weren't given the option for that candy before, but now that you've tasted it.. you kinda want it back without having to pay so much more to get it.

if that made any sense.

(Gunna edit this, but weeew, post 100 xD)

For everyone saying they didn't listen to the poll at all... They did. Abbey's comments early on can reflect that pretty well.

The thing people don't seem to get was that neither the poll, nor the game suggestions, nor the discussions were going to be the absolute deciding factor, the mods just wanted to gather feedback. Yes, I feel like the poll and the freeze was kind of just to keep us busy for a bit while a decision was reached and could've been handled better, but the end result?

It got put back to exactly how it was before the changes that basically broke the game were made, with the addition of a SB version of hunt skips now (but yes, I do think having the first 5 or so at 100SB would calm the haters a bit).

It was never democratic, it was a debate which the mods would then use to inform their judgement call about the future of the site. And I think that was the difference between those arguing for option 2 and any other option - option 2, when they gave reasoning, was by and large saying they voted for it because it made it easier for them, personally, to get in 10 hunts a day. Those who were adamantly against that option though gave much more thought and depth to their arguments, and looked beyond how it would affect them personally and more to the impact it would have on the site overall.

For those of you saying that this option "lets the rich get richer"... No. Just no. This option lets anyone who has the time/motivation to invest effort into the game can put stats into their lions, without being forced into buying high stats from those who had them when the game was effectively frozen. Results should reflect effort invested. If they instead reflect money invested, that's pay to win.

So yes. It was an interesting little experiment, if we want to call it that, and many got to run riot for the two weeks or so it took to put things back in order, but I think the admins made the best possible call considering.

Thank you guys <3

I agree with Charleyhorse. There have been a number of changes made that benefit casual players, but make things harder for players that invest in the game time or money-wise. In those cases, the more invested players had to make sacrifices. It doesn't hurt casual players to do the same. In my opinion, every gaming style should be allowed to continue and if option 2 had been the choice of staff, one gaming style wouldn't have just taken a beating; it would have been eradicated entirely.

I disagree that 'colour and marking' breeders are the same as casual breeders though. Breeding for specific looks is expensive and can take months with very little return from sales. People that fit into that category have taken some pretty big hits too. Some of them wouldn't understand all the difficulties of stat building, but I'm sure most would have a fairly good idea still. Many spend a lot of time on the game too, and they have their own difficulties that are often overlooked, after all.

There's nothing wrong with being a casual player. Not everyone has a lot of time to spend, and some people just enjoy being able to relax for a short amount of time here on a regular basis. But it's only fair that they then don't get some of the same things that people who can/do invest in the game. Otherwise, there would only be one gaming style. If that was what staff wanted, I'm assuming they'd have made a different decision.

The Admins have done what they think is best here for how they want the game and user-base to be. If people have an issue with it, they can always come up with alternatives and post them in the Game Development forum to be considered. C:
