I think a renewable temporary freeze would be best.

Like, you can pay 1 GB for an item and it freezes a lion for two years but not permanently. During that time, it acts like a frozen lion and isn't useable, just for show basically.

The only think you can do with it is wait for th freeze to wear off, or if it's a male, make it your king and it will be unfrozen.

This will keep people's heirs from getting old while they wait to retire their king and that's mostly what I think itd be great for.

This is an interesting idea but as stated before, the event that decreases age is a thing and it's really good enough in my opinion so I can't really support this, while I do see some amazing subs, I just don't think it's a must.

no support... firstly, why would you have a heir that is older than your king? you could have just made that heir king instead of the current king, and that would be the user's fault for not doing so. and second, a spare could be used for this exact purpose^^
and aditionally, if you retire your king at 15 and have a sub aged 15 years and 11 months or something, his age will automatically be set to 8 years when he's made king

Temp freezing is a good idea as long as the lion(as minimata stated) acts like a frozen lion, so no hunting, patrols, ect.

Sheba: not everyone can afford the 10 GB and most of the special based males people sell on the market are 12-13 years old. And they are not easy to replace. Do you know how hard rare marks such as rosettes and bases like lilac, Celestial and so on pass? I have only currently bred 3 rosettes in my pride from Napoleon since he became king, and only 20% of the, even have special bases like Hallowed or slate. Maybe for rolled/plain kings replacements are easy to find, but for players higher up on the chain, this becomes difficult to find the perfect heir as choices narrow down if we want to keep climbing up. Like hell, a 2000 Stat replacer costs 10GB and is really rare to appear on the market as well
And 15 and 15 11 months heirs are really hard to find as well seeing as the age needs to be so exact and chances are, that lion is unwanted and has ugly/plain markings that people no longer want.

I support this even though I have no need for it as I plan on Napoleon to sire his heir, but thats just me, I'm sure the higher statted/ base/marking breeders would love the shiz outta this thing. I also recommend highering the price to about 1/2 the jelly fish's price.

Whiteout: yeah, i actually do know that those are extremely difficult to get. It's also possible to breed for specially based males, and 10 GB isn't all that difficult if you actulaly play the game and save up for a special thing, it just takes time. i think you're misunderstanding me, i'm just saying it's actually quite easy to freeze a lion on your spare for a while by not rolling over. And then there's this thing called planning, usually it works out pretty well :P

no support, the idea of being able to TEMPORARILY freeze a sub would be could if they could DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like some said(the item could say something like your sub got stung by a jelly and is temporarily paralyzed until---) BUT I think that idea should deserve it's own suggested thread as that idea and the one in the thread are completely different in my opinion.
