Felix - Werewolf
Felix took his mind off of his former pack by trying to guess who was and wasn't mundane. He could smell a fearie and a shadowhunter. By the strength of the smell, they were pretty close to him. I hope the shadowhunter doesn't start anything...If they did, even if I didn't start anything with them, I'd still get blamed. The downworlders always get blamed... His hand tightened around his glass, shattering it. He got startled looks from others seated around him. He muttered a quick 'sorry' and ordered another drink form the 'Specialty Drink' board - making sure to avoid the tart grapefruit drink he had ordered form before.

"Merci, monsieur. il semble incroyable." Ok maybe she was a bit of a show off too, but when you lived in France... She downed the soup, "So would you like me to go to the grocery store?" She laughed, it was funny to her, the past few years or so, whenever she said store, food was implied. She couldn't help but smile, it was funny how superior the shadowhunters were to humans, but the simplest things made the humans seem like geniuses and the nemphilim neanderthals.

"Pour que?" Jack asked. "You only just arrived, and I still don't have an explanation," Jack said, leaning against the wall. She had said the Clave sent her, but he wanted to know why. This couldn't have been the first institute she had been to by the looks of it, but why would she need to be sent to more than one institute to stay?

"Alright then, My name is actually Evelyn and after I was born as it is with most of us my parents died, I was shipped off to.. Chicago? first I think. Can't quite remember. But everywhere I stayed, they hated me, or were annoyed by me, or too busy to both with me, so they'd ship me off to the next place, telling the clave that they had a better teacher there for me. Each institute learned the trick from the last and process repeated itself. As I got older, I could tell when they were going to send me off again, I would leave. I'd live on the streets for as long as I could until someone would come for me. Eventually they had to use force to get me anywhere, I knew I was only going to get put back into the system so I fought back. I never needed any of them, besides, they never needed me. The only reason I willingly came here is because I knew your parents were gone, and I hadn't eaten in over a 2 weeks. She pulled up the hem of her shirt, yup. Those were definitely her ribs. I don't need to stay I promise I won't be a problem, I just could.. couldn't really do it anymore. "

Jack stared at Evi-Evelyn- his expression never changing. "Mr. and Mrs. Faircross aren't the people to turn away an orphan." Jack said. "No matter how misbehaved. Unfortunately, we don't have a tutor at the moment, so I don't think you will be able to go on missions with us, but I'm sure within time, you will be healthy as a cow and out hunting like the blood in your veins." Jack said. He didn't understand how she could be kicked out of so many institutes.

Felix cleaned up the broken glass pieces that scattered the bar. He took a sip of whatever drink he had ordered next - it was much better than the first. Some mango-peach tasting thing. Whatever it was, it was good.

Evie scoffed. orphan. "See that's the thing though, charity. it sucks. people get this look in their eye and then they treat you like some sort of china, like if they even blow on you, you might shatter and break and they'd be the one who did it and they couldn't take it. Me not having parents is like me having blue eyes, I can't change it. I just live with it. I'm not a broken little doll in someone's closet, but that's what I see when I tell people this." Evie looked away. "And if you ever call me Evelyn I swear I will kick your butt." She smiled slightly, trying to lighten the mood. She just got annoyed, and it wasn't jacks fault, it was just her life.

Jack was taken aback. "I-I never called you-" He broke off. "You're putting words in my mouth," he said. "This isn't charity, if you don't want it to be. Think of it as a school. You train, be with your classmates, and then go on missions. Easy, simple, efficient." Jack said. He didn't know what else to say. He's had to deal with Kade and her problems, he should be a pro at this kind of thing, but he wasn't.

Evie opened her mouth to shoot back, but stopped. This is she got kicked out of the French institute an into the Beijing one, this is how she got the scars on her back.
"You're right." She started. "You never said anything, i just.. am used to most people saying things and I assumed you'd be most people.. you're obviously not." She looked down at the floor, she hated embarrassing herself and being wrong, and needing people. good gracious how she hated needing people, especially such good people who clearly would never need someone like her.

Jack just shut up. He didn't want Evie to feel unwelcome, or embarrassed. For once in Jack's life, he wished either Kade or Cylena were here, in the room, helping him. He hated being the only one around, especially when he didn't know what to do. Jack always felt like he was the bad guy, always scolding people about stupid stuff like getting drunk, or drawing on the walls. He hated when things didn't line up.

Felix sipped on his drink, and looked down to see that it was already half empty. Not even two drinks in, and he was already starting to get a little tipsy - not a lot, just a slight wobble, as though he were slightly swaying to a beat of a song. Felix laughed at himself. I guess this is why I never won any of the drinking contests...
