Halfblooded~ Some human's were just born this way, others were forced, some were accepted. These human's aren't completely human. They are part animal. The animal they turn into is their INNER ANIMAL. Some human's are part bird, part bear, part wolf, part horse. These 'humans' are shape-shifters. Not everyone started like that, though. Some people are trialed to be one, some people steal a serum that makes them halfblooded. Some people are forced to take the serum. But they all have one thing in common. They were all sick. It all started when mad scientist Dr. Corvelis mixed up blood and a toxin. He gave the toxin to a patient with cancer and the next morning, she was fine. They thought it was a break through, so they gave it to as many people that could afford this pricey drug. What they didn't know, was that the toxin changes the person into an animal. They start to blend with a certain animals' thoughts, they get their senses. Sometimes, they turn into the animal and never return. Over years, a school has been formed to tame these beasts inside of people. The school is called "The Academy" by the students. The original name has been lost in time. Halfblooded people from all over the world come here to unlock their beast side and tame it. After you school here, you should be able to become your inner animal whenever you choose to. You get the animal's senses, looks, and thoughts. You can be a student, a teacher, someone going through the process, or a thief. If your parents were Half&Human, you most likely didn't find your ability until late teens(15+) If parents were Half&Half, you probably first turned when you were between 5-10. If you took the serum, you turned a few days later. There are rules, but not too hard to follow. 1- Follow Lioden Rules 2-On the top of every post put Name-Gender-Animal, except with your names. (Ex- Miley-32-Cat) 3- 3+ sentences please. 4- If rules are not followed you get a strike 3 total strikes. 5-In other, type Following Footsteps so I know you read the rules. 6- If you do not respond in four days, you get a PM asking if you are still in. If you don't respond in a WEEK and have not INFORMED me of it, you get a strike. If you do not respond in TWO WEEKS you are kicked out. 7- You must tell me if you are dropping/won't be able to reply for a certain number of days. 8- 3 characters MAX 9- Keep cursing to the minimum. 10-Try to stay updated with this thread, I may add new rules, new people may join, and stuff of the sorts. Nikki McCuri ~ Female ~ Student/Beginner ~ Raven Nikki walked down the hallway away from the dean's room as students started to come back from their classes. Good, she'd made it in time. She felt much better with her jacket on, like she had been without feathers for a while but finally had them back. She went into her dorm relieved her roommates weren't there, and threw open the window. She'd promised her raven that she'd shift as soon as she got her jacket back, and here she was. Nikki grabbed the sill and stuck her head out the window, closing her eyes as the wind blew lightly on her face. Fresh. Air. His heart, not his head. Right? He sighed, running a hand through his messy hair; he hadn't bothered to push or pull it back out of laziness and the fact he lost his ponytails when shifting. I think you left them in the bathroom actually, on the handle of the shower. A voice chimed in through his head, causing Adam to halt and look around curiously. What was-- I prefer to be a who, but I guess being an animal means I'm a what too. It's nice to know you actually want to talk for once, and for the right reasons. Adam paused in the middle of the hallway, immediately noticing the voice was more of his mother's but also much deeper. Yes, darling. I'm the cheetah inside of your soul; although you kept looking in your head and it cut me off. Call me Rory. But, you're a female! You sound like my mother, but have some of my voice to. When did you name yourself Rory? How should I know? I just woke up as a half mature cheetah inside of your body. All I know is that you accidentally named me; you liked the princess from an old tale your mother told. Her name was Rory. Thus, here I am. Now go get something to eat, I smell muffins! The young man grimaced, but used his nose to smell the muffins Rory was to eager for him to consume. Nodding to himself, he turned down the hall and entered the Cafe. Moving through the line, he grabbed a salad with ranch and thousand island dressing, a few too many croutons, a banana nut muffin, a cheeseburger with fries, and a glass of chocolate milk. Walking back to a table towards the corners like always, he began to eat. Rory seemed to dislike the salad, but she liked the ranch and dressing. That was good at least. Muffins evidently were her favorite snacks, because she purred when Adam ate one; perhaps this whole shifting thing wasn't so bad.... 0 players like this post! Like? |

She turned and walked out the door to Synthi. "Yeah, there's a café not far away from here, we can go there and have a late breakfast," she replied with a small smile. Arn || Student || Male || Leopard As Doka continued to scan the area with her cat senses, he quietly climbed down from the thick tree. Once down, he changed smoothly into his human form, relieved that it went easier than changing to leopard shape. "You forgot to mention the glaringly obvious fact that there was a leopard lurking just above your heads," he informed them as he stepped out from between the trees. "And the squirrel is afraid partly because there's a lot of noisy humans around, and partly because it knew i might have eaten it any time." He dumped lazily down on the grass beside the rest of the class, leaning back on the palms of his hands. Doka~Female~Expert~Black Cat Doka smiled when Arn jumped down. "Oh, you're mistaken. A giant leopard is easy to find. I would have called you out, but I didn't want to surprise you and make you fall on me," She said, she looked straight at Arn and managed to give him a slit eyed look with her inner cat eyes/ and a small point in her teeth. Those were the only shifts she could do without fully turning. She could never grow a tail, or perk her ears, or elongate her nose. Just, change the shape of her pupils, and give a slight tip to her teeth. As soon as it came, though, it left. She could never hold it long, either. Just a flash to scare the cops. "The squirrel is also afraid that he won't be able to get away," Doka said, tasting the fear. It was more or less made up, but a prey always wants an escape route. Plus the voice inside of his head, which had freaked him out the first time he heard it, was weird. But... Having someone to talk to, it did feel kinda nice. And a Lynx was a badass feline. Well thanks Josh, I guess you're kinda badass too Startled by the voice, but calming down once he realized it was his inner animal, Loki to call him by name, he smirked. [Thanks Loki] Walking down the hallway, his bag slung lazily over his shoulder, he looked around the huge cafeteria. Adam, one of his two room mates, was sitting by himself, eating. Heading for the food, grabbing an apple, he walked towards Adam, standing at the other side of the table. "Mind if I sit here?". He asked and nodded at the empty seat. Just sit already Josh, Loki encouraged him. Loki was the more rebellious of the two, which could clearly be seen when he shifted. He flashed her a toothy grin then, showing unnaturally pointed, long teeth; all fully-grown fangs, nothing halfway. It was a sly grin. "So, did you learn anything we don't already know yet?" He asked, still studying the leaf between his fingers. He didn't show it, but for every second his leopard stayed put, he was immensely relieved. I was just enjoying myself some! You never let me do it, and it was just for a night. I'm trapped like you were every single day apart from when you're in a good enough mood to let me out! Which, by the way, is next to never. Arn Froze, all muscles tensed. But nothing else happened; it was just the voice, no attempt at getting out of the cage, no pressure in his fingers, no mad itching. The voice was pointed and displeased, but it held a tinge of honesty, and under it, a plead. he considered what it said and suppressed a shudder; he would hate to be locked in there for years upon years. he said sharply at it, then shoved it back down. He knew it was bad, because he fought a surge of guilt, but he honestly wasn't feeling like having a long morale talk with the leopard right now. I'm not sure, actually, we always just go and take what we want, eat it and go to class..." She admitted, feeling slightly embarrassed. What if they were supposed to pay and were actually just stealing? The thought created a certain paranoia. "We just.. Go and grab something and if someone tells us off, we pay?" She suggested. She looked at Mackenzie for a second, thinking that she was going to send Doka to the dean's, but then turned back to Arn. Use your Maned Wolf's senses to tell me what your see, hear, or smell. Ignore the squirrel, however." While waiting for the student to take her step up, Loba had Mackenzie turn to look at Arn. His body language... It must be his leopard attempting something, it was the only time Loba had detected that must stress from the boy; he reeked of fear, anxiousness, and desperation. Concentrating, she closed her eyes and after a few seconds of silence, she fluttered her them open. Her emerald green iris wer no longer there, in its place was golden brown ones. Everything looked strange from her animals view, everything was slightly magnified. Scenting the air, her mouth started to water, "I smell... Rabbits and birds, the rabbits are digging at the ground and the birds are pecking at the to find food." Her gaze flickered around, "I see a raccoon in the tree up there," She angled her head slightly, "I can hear the sounds of many animals running around furiously to find shelter and water. And I can sense a rodents fear not too far from here. As if it could sense me." She explained. "Fear smells like a heavy oceany breeze to me, but instead lf being calm, a storm is starting to brew." Wolves, as pack animals, are more sensitive to scent changes than others. Domestic Cats, however, can sense internal changes and understand when something might be off without having to smell. Horses can feel it, too. They sense it, without smell, sight, or sound. It's amazing what your animals can do." She stated, looking back among the class. Mercedes knew better than to make a student feel uncomfortable, plus it was her Maned Fox who spoke slightly, not herself, but quickly she took back her voice. "The best place to shelter would be in th roots of trees, a den. But also a den made out of brambles and or stone. A cave most likely, to keep out bad weather." Doka wasn't too bad of a girl, she just needed a right push. Mercedes let her emotions roll inside of her like a storm, and she thought her actions through a lot less. She mumbled under her breath, too low for even the wolf to hear correctly, if at all.
