"Oh, I see," she laughed. "Though maybe your roommate was waking herself by snoring, you never know." She finally finished her banana muffin and had started sipping on her orange juice when she noticed heir nails turning a slightly darker shade of black, changing shapes just slightly.... "Shoot!" she gasped; she hadn't even noticed her tiger was pressing out. Not even when she paid attention to it did she notice him, and that made it so much more difficult to keep control and press it down. She bit her bottom lip in focus and flinched ever so slightly when something sharp punctured them.
Do you have to do that now? she pleaded her tiger desperately; she didn't need Bea to see her as weak. Besides, she reallyf elt the tiger pressing on her mind now; it gave her a slight headache.
You promised me you would let me out on the first day.
She stiffened.
The vioce rumbled through her, mighty, powerful, commanding, majestic. She felt tiny and helpless suddenly when faced with the power of the tiger pressing on her mind. She blinked when her eyes started to itch, and even though she didn't notice it, her eyes were turning slowly amber.
"I never got a chance to!" She gasped, and jerked when she heard her own voice ring desperate through the café.
The preassure on her mind increased, and she groaned and clutched her head and its oncoming migraine.
"Please wait, i- i'll find a place," she had tried speaking it in her mind only, but her mouth opened and her voice sounded through the room again, but just as a low, barely hearable whisper.

He lay under a tree, flexing his claws and creating shallow, clawed marks in the dirt. He had been changing back and forth all day and the whole previous day after class, increasing the contact with his leopard gradually. His mind was set on mastering his animal again; he refused to run away anymore. His few days of weakness had been a quick phase, a recovering prossess from the shock; he couldn't go on like that all day. Now his leopard was equally conscious as him; it was equal in control, or almost equal- he kept a larger percentage to himself in case she tried to do something. She didn't, however, which increased his trust to her. Not by much, but it was enough, for now.
What's that? The sharp tone tore him effectively out from his thoughts, and he focused on his surroundings to sense what she was sensing.
All was calm.
No, not here, in the school. Her voice was calm on the surface, but he sensed a slight alarm. It was a peculiar feeling; he had never really been bothered by much the past years. Things happened, and either they turned out good or bad. He would just find a way to cope.
Reluctantly, he focused his attention towards the school, and this time he sensed soemthing; a ripple of energy, an air of slight fear.
Someone's changing, he realized. And by the feels of it, it wasn't particularly controlled- the animal was also peculiarly strong, stronger than any rodent or prey animal.
He got up and leaped toward the school, driven by twos eparate emotions; the leopard's alarm, and his own excitement. Finally something was happening.

Bea - Female - Moon Bear
Bea looked up at Arya as she suddenly shouted. Bea noticed her nails were turning black, and that her eyes were becoming amber. Bea's eyes widened as she realized that Arya was turning. A tiger on the loose can not be good. Bea hopped up from her seat. "I'll be right back - I'm getting help." Bea ran down the hall to Kaileh's classroom. It was locked. As was Sid's. Crap, crap, crap! I am not going to be tiger chow! Not today! Bear growled, as if saying 'You're a bear. You won't be chow.' Now is not the time! Where would Kaileh and Sid be.......Their dorms! Bea ran up the stairs to the dorms as fast as she could, not caring that she was running in to others. She went to Sid's door, as the lights inside were on unlike Kaileh's, and hurriedly knocked on the door. Please open, please open.

Sid - Male - Patagonian Mara
Sid jumped at the knocking on his door. "Just a sec," he told Kaileh as he walked to the door. He opened it to find an out-of-breath student outside his door.

Arya || Female || Student || Bengal Tiger

She jumped as Bea got up from her chair -which scraped painfully loudly across the floor- and ran out with a couple of words that might have been related to "going" and"help". No, don't let Kaileh find me, i'll be expelled, no! panic rose in her chest, and a small, drowning voice in her head was telling her that she was being irrational. The tiger's overwhelming mind swatted it down and under like an annoying fly. Not here, not now, here's students, i can't- before she knew what she was doing, she leaped up from her chair and ran blindly into the hallway.
Everything was black and white, and blurry and strange, but by some miracle she managed not to collide in any walls.
left, right, forward, left...
And as she ran, a crippling pain rose from her gut and up her spine. She shrieked but it sounded like a roar and then her hands, or was it paws because her nails hurt painfully every step, hit the floor and sounds embraced her, so much sound and she yelled for it to stop and a satisfyingly terrifying snarl filled her airs and then air, fresh, clean air hit vibrating nostrils and soft grass under the paws and-
A jolt of pain shot up her ribcage as something crashed into her painfully strong with claws and fangs and a death grip. A loud, bone-freezing growl rippled the air as she threw herself around and jammed her claws into whatever soft flesh she could find.


Arn || Student || Male || Expert || Leopard

Mere seconds after they started running, a series of loud noises cut through the air from the atrium, and a huge tiger burst through the doors, flinging them open. The air coming from it, Arn picked up as jumbled and confused, mingled with a sense of triumph.
We have to stop it before someone gets hurt! for once, Arn agreed with her, and putting everything of strength into it, they ran towards the raging tiger. They let out a sharp warning yowl for it to surrender, but it didn't seem like it heard it.
They crashed into it with crushing force, driving it down to the ground and clawing and biting at it to keep it down. But their claws slipped and the tiger got loose; the paw hit them across the left shoulder. They yowled and beat away the paw, leaping at the tiger once again. Arn wanted to bite and scratch and do as much damage he could to stop the beast, but his leopard held him back, insisting that they couldn't cripple a student.
The tiger struggled and roared, but it had little experience with fighting, and so Arn gained the upper hand as he pressed the tiger down. He allowed just his mouth to transform so that he could speak, but it was his leopard's voice that came out;
"Calm yourself, cub! You cannot win by force!" Arn was surprised at how the voice sounded, worried yet demanding. The leopard obviously had paid attention to his lessons.
The tiger snarled, but it couldn't get away.

Bea - Female - Moon Bear
Bea was out of breath from running. She was so relieved when Sid opened the door. "Student..........Shifting.....Angry tiger.......On the loose.......Need.....Help....." She was able to get out between huffs. Jeeze, I really need to start exercising...

Sid - Male - Patagonian Mara
Sid's eyes widened as he heard the student - whomever she was - inform him about the loose tiger. "Kaileh, come on, let's go," He yelled behind his shoulder as he ran out of the dorm. He didn't even look back to see if she was following. He raced down the hallway, and it took all his self control not to flinch as he heard a loud roar echo through the school. Crap.....Now how am I supposed to lure a tiger into the emergency turning rooms? Wait....Mara, are you cool with running from a tiger? Mara gave him an angry chatter. Let me rephrase. We are going to lead around an angry tiger, if it comes to that. Sid finally made it to the first floor. He spotted the tiger, and yelled out in an even tone, "Arya. It's Sid. You need to calm down. Take deep breaths. Think of something calming. Take control through calmness."

Kaileh~Female~Teacher~Swan
Kaileh was right behind Sid. She saw Arya and Arn outside. She ran over to her and stood next to the two. She saw her already shifted. "Arya, breath." Kaileh said, calmly. "In. Out." And Kaileh breathed in, and out. "Arya," she spoke. Just her name. Sometimes, just saying the human name helped them shift back. "Arn, are you okay?" She asked without moving her sight from Arya. She went closer to Arya, but still far enough not to disturb her.


Doka~Female~Expert~Black Cat
As Doka was going up the stairs, she heard a loud roar of a feline, and saw as a bunch of people ran past. She was still in her animal form, so she ran with the group. She saw a student and- Arn?- in the outside, so she followed. She stayed back a bit, but watched. She now saw that a tiger was there. She concentrated her thoughts so that they reverberated through the tigers mind. Hello there, young one X said.

Sid - Male - Patagonian Mara
Sid watched as Kaileh ran up to Arya. He stood close by, out of the way so he wasn't crowding Kaileh, but still close enough that he could jump in and help if needed. Every couple of seconds he'd call out, "Keep breathing," or "Think about the ocean waves crashing against the shore," or "Deep breaths."

Alec - Male - Blakiston's Fish Owl
Alec was startled when he heard the loud roar from downstairs. He opened his door and walked out into the hall. He spotted Bea near Sid's door - the door was wide open, and Bea seamed as though she was trying to catch her breath. Alec walked up to Bea. "What's going on?"

Bea - Female - Moon Bear
Bea turned around as she heard someone approach her. It was Alec. She was still huffing, out of breath. "You...You know Arya?....You should, she's..... she's in your class....Well....Her tiger.......tiger got loose......" Jeeze, why am I still out of breath? She could feel her heart racing against her chest. Whether from panic or the running, she didn't know.

Synthi-Female-Student-Spiny Bush Viper

After leaving the cafe Syn had went to her room to sleep. All that food made her sleepy. She woke up in time for classes this time. Syn got out of bed and showered, brushed her teeth. She then got dressed when grabbed her stuff and then headed for class. She walked into the class somewhat earlier than anyone else. She hasn't seen Arya in the room when she woke up.

Arn || Male || Student || Leopard

"Listen to them, young one, calm down. Do not let it control your mind as well as your body. Focus." The leopard's voice still sounded strange in Arn's ears, but he let her speak; he knew time was running out for them and the leopard seemed to know what she was doing. There were various things to try if this didn't work, such as exhausting her, or scaring her tiger, but neither fo those would be any easy. Right now, taking advantage of its confusion would be best. And he knew the tiger would soon be rid of its confusion, which would make it so much more difficult for whoever was in there -Arya, he heard one of the teachers call her- to gain control again.
Gather yourself and catch it unaware. I will distract it; then you have to squeeze out somehow in its weaker moment. He spoke directly to her mind, and noticed slightly disappointed that it was just as confused as the tiger seemed to be. Hopefully she could do this anyway.
Ready? He spoke to his leopard mainly, but he made sure Arya could hear it as well. Then he lifted his paw and swatted the tiger across its nose.


Arya || Female || Student || Bengal Tiger

How in the holy hibbleton am i supposed to breathe when I can't control my lungs?! she wanted to scream infrustration over the advice, and even though she knew it was fruitless, she did -though she wasn't exactly how, because she had no lungs to scream with.
A loud roar rolled through the hallways, and she jumped mentally at the sound. Had that been... her?
Then another voice sounded in her mind, different than the first one. This one was hard and edgy, but still somehow comforting.
What what, how- the contact was cut, however, once he finished speaking, and she wanted to whimper. Gather herself?
She gave it a try, though, and focused immensely on her own consciousness -how else could she gather herself?- and pressed faintly on the tiger's walls around her to see if there was any opening.
She drew back when it's mind clamped down on hers. If it had been possible to get a headachhe, she would have gotten one.
Then the tiger recoiled as hot pain flashed accross its snout. She felt the walls that trapped her weaken, a crack was even showing-
She hurled herself at it in a way, forcing her way out, while imagining her own arms, her own legs, forcing their way out, and suddenly she felt the pain searing through the tiger's body, not from a distance, but as if they were on her own arms, her own nose, her own back. The tiger fought back with a furious pounce, but it was too late- she felt herself shifting, ever so painfully, as her bones and senes and muscles stretched out to reluctantly form a human body.
Arya leaned on her hands, panting as though she had ran a marathon and just crossed the line. Everything burned- her face, her shoulder, her legs, her side.

Kaileh~Female~Teacher~Swan
Kaileh jumped back "Arn!" She yelped. She took a few steps back, her eyes were wide. This wouldn't help. And injured animal was the worst to deal with. An angry predator is even harder. Now he just combined oth. She saw Sid behind her and Doka prancing up.

Doka~Female~Expert~Black Cat
Doka walked up to Arn and the tiger. She wondered what Arn was doing, and watched as Kaileh stepped away. Doka knew Kaileh wouldn't back away from someone who needs help. Doka stared at Arn, realizing what he did, but not his reasons. Kitties don't like being hit! X said to the leopard in Arn.

Exactly, he thought back to Doka as he bounded off the girl. He transformed back to himself, mostly; he left sharp claws sticking out from his fingers, and powerful fangs designed to break bones. He also kept some of the leopard's lean muscle and strength; she was still much stronger than him, physically, even though he worked out a lot. But he kept in position in front of Arya; if it didn't work, he'd be ready to pounce on her again. If he couldn't trick the tiger to back off, he'd exhaust it until the girl was stronger.
"I just distracted it so it didn't focus so much on keeping her down," he said sharply to Kaileh, sharper than he had intended. "See, it worked!" he still kept a watchful eye on her, though, and looked her over to watch for any of the telltale signs of an reverse transformation; clawed fingertips, fangs, differently colour hair, strangely shaped limbs, amber eyes... but when the girl looked around herself, her eyes were her own blue, her nails and limbs perfectly human.

Doka~Female~Expert~Black Cat
If a cat could scowl, X would be past that stage. She let out a growl, and approached the tiger. I think this kitty wants to hunt, X said to Arn and Arya. Doka looked around, she didn't know what was happening, but X seemed to be handling the cat form.

Kaileh~Female~Teacher~Swan
"An injured animal is a dangerous animal." Kaileh said. If Arya couldn't get through to her inner animal, Who knows what would happen. Kaileh tried not to think about it.

Arya || Female || Student || Bengal Tiger

"Well, it's not gonna be hunting anytime soon if i can stop it." She drew a breath shakily and got up to her feet, brushing off dust from her arms even though there was nothing to brush off; she just wanted to feel the comfort of being able to move again, to feel her own skin under her fingers.
"But Kaileh, it worked, the tiger was distracted enough for me to get out," she said, suddenly feeling like defending whomever this blonde (still half-leopard) guy was.


Arn || Student || Male || Expert || Leopard

"Yeah, a danger to whomever injured it- though to the one trapped inside, it's a small relief." With that, he turned on his heel and walked inside again, not sure where he was going exactly.
You didn't excercise in a while, the leopard reminded him, and he realized he actually hadn't since he got here.
Think they've got a workout room here somewhere?
I guess we'd better find out.
