So inbreeding is gross, we can agree on that. But it's possible ingame. In real life, animals that are inbred are more likely to have defects and mutations, shouldn't Lioden be the same?
I propose that inbreeding should raise the chances for a mutation. The more inbred a lion is, the more chance for a mutation to happen.

Sure, that sounds fun. And to keep it fair, it should only raise it by a small amount. Say, 5% for every level of inbreeding? It would still not work on Goddess Fertility lionesses, of course.

Support! I've been trying to breed a mutation for quite a while, and this could help. And I agree with Starblazer that the amount raised should be small.

I would have to agree with this. I think after a certain generation the chances should go up. And i think age of the parents should be a factor as well. Its scientifically proven that the older the parents, the the chances are higher for fatal defects.

No support. All this would do is encourage cub spam and oversaturate the market with even more unwanted cubs as people breed female cubs to their fathers over and over in order to get a mut. Mutations show up randomly as it is with VLF lions, we don't need another "easy" route to get them.

(Also, whether or not inbreeding is "gross" is entirely your opinion. How do you think cute pugs and teacup chihuahuas are made?)

If you are a responsible breeder then no thats not how there made .. They take a puppy that is small and breed it to another smaller dog if the same breed it has nothing to do with inbreeding and im a breeder we breed great danes no inbreeding all our dogs are health checked and puppies are sold to loving homes with contracts etc... So its not inbreeding that makes new dog breeds and things...

No support. Mutations are meant to be hard to get, and lots of people inbreed (whether to get a specific mark, since many are released on only one lioness to start with, or to get high stats, since breeding cubs of leaderboard males back to their fathers is a good way to get higher stats), so mutations would just become a lot more common.

We already have items that increase mutation chances; I think they're more than enough. :)

I kind of have to agree with the concern of making mutation to easy to get.

Inbreeding isnt good, line breeding is different and used carefully when breeding dogs. As for teacup chihuahuas those are gross and no responsible breeder will breed for those ugly things they are usually riddled with health problems.

As for inbreeding in the game I dont agree with it for the reasons stated above cubs are already undervalued because there are so many this would just encourage even more breeding and cubs that cant be sold and mess with the economy.

No support there are plenty of other ways to get mutations

I think it could be interesting if inbreeding increased the chances of mutations, but considerably lowered the cub's stats (even if not mutated), as inbreeding is unhealthy.

Kinda encourages the practice of incest, which is... gross. It's one thing when people just do it/don't care; it's a whole other thing when you incentivise incest in the game. No support.

No support. It's already easy to get a mutation with items and inbreeding like that would screw up the market with an uprising of muties in which would lose value.

My thinking on this is that only the chances of negative/lethal mutations should be increased after each generation of inbreeding. I support the basic idea.

No support.

I could see players, including myself, breeding cubs back to their father's and whatnot. Almost every lion is inbred.

Besides, it's not that hard to get muties anymore.
