* PLEASE FULLY READ before commenting, thanks! :) * - In real life, albino is the same thing as achromia. There's no point in having both on Lioden, they're the same condition. - It is very, very rare, and to my knowledge there has never been a true albino lion--only white (faded) lions. - Albinos are FAR too common on Lioden. Suggestion: remove random "albino." Rename "albino" and make it a different, inheritable base coat (someone else suggested Snowy or the like). Restrict albino mutations to the rare Achromia mutation. _______ (Many modifications to the albino mechanic on Lioden have been suggested, but not this exact one.) |

Yeah, TheFox, I was saying exactly that :) Albino should be renamed/made a breedable coat. As it stands--in real life, albino is the same exact thing as achromia. It doesn't mean white--it means a genetic mutation that leaves no pigment. It's the same thing. I don't know why it's two different things in-game or why Lioden's "albino" is so annoyingly common. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Doesnt really mean the same for Lioden, since you can put markings on Albino, but cannot do the same for the mutation. Logically, you shouldnt be able to put markings on an albino or it should not show. But people have been complaining about the albino here not being a real albino, so they made a real one. Albino currently is just another base color and not a mutation, since it doesnt work like one. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support as long as we do still have the Albino base, even if it is renamed Snowy or whatever. Cause I love that bright white coat with the bits of pink. c: 0 players like this post! Like? |

I've posted my non-support for another topic exactly like this, and I'll repost it here. Post one: "I believe the only reason why albino is showing up so much is due to the updated breeding system. Back in my day, when you could breed Onyx x Onyx and get literally ANYTHING, Albino was a coveted base due to how hard it was to breed (like anything we consider "special" now). It was hard to get back in the day, but people did it - and did it A LOT. Which is why, in my opinion, it's considered common. "As for the passing rates - I think they were lowered from initial release? I'd have to look over the news postings. But I honestly don't mind the pass rates as they are, honestly. And if I'm correct, even if you breed two lions who don't fit into the genetic area that would normally produce an Albino, you have a chance of getting it anyway. Which I think is neat. "I breed all of my girls pretty much as soon as they come into heat and I only get a rare and random Albino once in a while; if you're being overrun with them, I suggest checking the genetics of the parents you're breeding to see if you're breeding in the Albino pool. " Post two: "Alrighty, so I did some digging. Back in the first genetics update post, Xy had said this, in regards to Albinos: " 'Albinos can now no longer be selectively bred, and instead are a small random chance, much like a mutation. Breeding two albinos will not give you an albino unless the random chance happens. Albinos can occur in any pairing!' "But in the very next update (being one week later) he had revised not only his statement, but the genetics models regarding Albinos: " 'We have decided to change Albino genetics into still being a random occurrence, but it has a chance of passing now if one parent is Albino, and that chance is higher if both are Albino.' "So it was actually changed to make it easier to breed them, but not too terribly so. So there are only two ways to get an albino: if one or both of the parents are albino, or by random happenstance. So at that, I see no need to make it "more" special, considering it breeds like any other "special" base + it has that random chance to show up. "Officially stating my non-support for this thread now, sorry." 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support 100%... why do we have an achromia mutation and then an Albino base? If it breeds like any other special base, why not just change the name since it's not truly "albino"? Very confusing. 0 players like this post! Like? |

No support. It's just a base color, what does it matter about it's name? In my opinion, the only kind of change that needs made, is it shouldn't have the "randomly showing up in litters" thing. If you're complaining about it being too common, that would fix your issue(then it would only show up in litters where Black Light Solid is possible), but as for me, I like Albino just as it is. 0 players like this post! Dont support I think it is fine how it is, it's a game too, I mean we don't really see hellbent monster demon spider things running around, and the albino thing shouldnt be THAT bad. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Oh, and just a reminder: People already made a suggestion to rename the brown base to 'rusty' or 'orange' because -in their opinion- brown isnt brown enough. Xylax rejected the request because this would be all too much work and the name is already deep within the code. So do not get your hopes up on this one either. 0 players like this post! Like? Yes, please make the albino like any other base, not randomly showing up. It's like a 25% change to get it, way too high (I had 2 out of 8 cubs have it so far so for me the change is way higher than that 5%) 0 players like this post! Like? |

This game is a bit unrealistic... Like pink cinnabar lions to dark, onyx lions. Albino being common in this game is fine... It doesn't bother me, it's a very pretty base. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as in real life, it's a game. I know Lioden is pretty realistic but it also has some fantasies, it only makes the game more fun. Sorry but I'm not supporting for now. ^^ 0 players like this post! Like? |

Completely support this. Having both albino and achromia is redundant, so changing albino's name and making it follow the regular base inheritance pattern makes sense to me. 0 players like this post! Like? |

TBH I miss breeding two of the same coat colors and getting something extremely random... 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 22/02/19 @ 21:23:27 by Sacramora (#140353) |
