This is an official clan thread for the The Artists of Lioden Clan! The Artists of Lioden- Who are we?-The Artists of Lioden is a family specifically for, you guessed it, all the artists on Lioden. Here there will be contests, group YCHs and pretty much anything art related that you can imagine. Requirements?-The only requirement is that you are an artist. You don't need to have an art shop set up 24/7, or an art shop for that matter, but even a little bit of artistic skill is required. So what's the point?-The point of this group is to bring all of Lioden's artists closer and to help everyone, in this group or not, to find an artist they would like to commission. Yep, whole threads will be dedicated specifically to advertising YOUR art! This sounds great! How do I sign up?-All you have to do is send a join request here and comment on this thread and you're in! I feel like joining this just because I get to do art and stuff here. I don't really have any examples, but my DeviantArt is TheDerpyKittenz. Welcome hopefuls. Shakti, your avatar looks nice. I have a few artistic critiques on it. Your lion doesn't have a mouth, or a pupil to his eye. Both would make it look a touch more finished. Shadow 0 players like this post! Like? |

Actually, I do like how it has more of a simplistic look to it rather then a finished art piece look. I myself am a fan of minimalistic icons/avatars, and that avatar looks perfect to me. However, that is my opinion, and if you prefer more finished looks, you should go with Shadow's suggestion :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

That can be really hard, Seiden. When I'm really struggling, I'll usually take a day off or so, then pull out some Still life objects and try and work on that. It kinda sucks to draw still lifes all the time because there's not a lot of creative liberties in Still-lifes. But by honing a few skills on a picture of a bottle or a bowl of fruit (I tend to use model horses or some other more interesting material) it can help you work out the proverbial kinks in your art. Is there a particular piece you are working on right now that you would like pointers on? If so, maybe post it to Deviant Art or Photobucket and I'll see what suggestions I could give you. Shadow, this is actually interesting. Maybe I should try this, to practise a bit, at least I will know what to do when I go back on my art. The problem right now is that I accepted a commission (the last one, I promise, I will never accept any commission anymore) and it have been months already, then I should really finish it as soon as possible. Posting it on Deviant Art would not help as I have no watchers, then no one would see it and even less comment on it, ahah. But thanks a lot for your advice. 0 players like this post! Like? |
